We have nice bay breezes most every summer afternoon, and summer daytime temperatures are usually around 65 degrees. Abundant organic fruit free for the picking includes blueberries, blackberries, thimbleberries, kiwis, plums, pears and apples depending on the time of year (typically June through November) and we usually have fresh duck and chicken eggs, veggies, and culinary herbs (rosemary, thyme, sage, lavender etc.) to share from our garden, which is a work in progress, like many things!
You're welcome to hang out by the very private creek for morning coffee or afternoon picnics and great bird and wildlife watching--if you're lucky you might even get to see river otters fishing and playing in the creek! You might want to bring water shoes or rain boots if you'd like to wade across the creek and explore the beautiful, serene 60 acre private nature preserve that borders our property.

My aunt and uncle bought the property in 1947 from its first European settler, Paolo Gabrielli, who immigrated in early 1914 from northern Italy with slips of his grapevine in the lining of his coat. Walk to the beach of our wild ocean along a no-shoulder country road. We have no visible neighbors, no ambient light or sound. We offer homemade soup, cobbler, fresh bread, morning coffee as extras; you can order with the booking. The Victorian village of Ferndale is three miles east, as is a beautifully maintained 110-acre town wilderness with hiking trails called Russ Park. A 150-year-old cemetery slopes down a hillside & is filled with 19th century charm and history. Shops and restaurants welcome visitors. There are several bars/a wine bar/and a historic saloon that's as old boy as it was in 1890. A music venue in a restored 19th century church has amazing acoustics and attracts international talent as a top-notch venue (sessions are filmed for PBS) midway between Portland and San Francisco. So, it's a mix of town and country, village and farm, wilderness and bewilderedness. Safe, safe, safe, meaning: you can leave your belongings in your site and when you come back... they're still there :) One caveat: please arrive before dark. There is no electricity in the campgrounds, and no generators are allowed. You will not be able to reach (or maybe even locate) your site without disturbing others. Osprey’s perch is a small campsite perched above the Salmon River. The pit toilet is just downhill from the camp at the end of a trail winding down through the meadow and to the right. There is private access to secluded swimming and fishing holes on the lower Salmon River down the meadow trail and to the left. A bridge provides shelter from rain if needed. The area is known for its world class steelhead fishing and is unparalleled in its natural beauty. The elk even stop by occasionally on a late winter/early spring morning if you are lucky enough to get the timing right… I hope you enjoy our most recently additions, tent pads on a nice deep bed of chips, and a dog run for your best friend!

We’re only 4 miles off Highway 101, far enough to enjoy peace and quiet without traffic noise. Wildlife is part of the experience here, so please stash your food at night to keep critters out of camp.
Outdoor lovers will find plenty to explore nearby—hiking and biking trails, the Trees of Mystery, Jet Boat Tours, and, of course, miles of redwood forest to get lost in.
A few things to note:
We are curruntly doing renovations at the far side of the park . it is done on the weekends , except on Holidays ,from 9am til 5pm ,because that is the only time my son gets off work from his job, sorry for any inconvenience.
We are hoping to be done before August 2026.

We have nice bay breezes most every summer afternoon, and summer daytime temperatures are usually around 65 degrees. Abundant organic fruit free for the picking includes blueberries, blackberries, thimbleberries, kiwis, plums, pears and apples depending on the time of year (typically June through November) and we usually have fresh duck and chicken eggs, veggies, and culinary herbs (rosemary, thyme, sage, lavender etc.) to share from our garden, which is a work in progress, like many things!
You're welcome to hang out by the very private creek for morning coffee or afternoon picnics and great bird and wildlife watching--if you're lucky you might even get to see river otters fishing and playing in the creek! You might want to bring water shoes or rain boots if you'd like to wade across the creek and explore the beautiful, serene 60 acre private nature preserve that borders our property.

Osprey’s perch is a small campsite perched above the Salmon River. The pit toilet is just downhill from the camp at the end of a trail winding down through the meadow and to the right. There is private access to secluded swimming and fishing holes on the lower Salmon River down the meadow trail and to the left. A bridge provides shelter from rain if needed. The area is known for its world class steelhead fishing and is unparalleled in its natural beauty. We had a wonderful two nights at Whispering Redwood Creek. It was very spacious, with beautiful trees and a lovely footbridge over the creek. Chris gave very good directions and we had no trouble finding the site. We had a relatively easy drive up in a 4WD SUV, but would have had trouble if in a less durable vehicle or with an inexperienced gravel road driver. We loved the picnic table and gathering area, and felt it would have been perfect size for a larger group than us (3 adults). Toilet worked great, BYO potable water & large propane tank if you want to use the fire. We were totally fine with our small camp cookstove. Would DEFINITELY stay here again- what a lovely experience.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Bigfoot Flat on Willow Creek. Shannon was super friendly and helpful in her messages. They provided potable water and a number of very clean porta potties for campers. There are a few sites but they are not close together. We mostly had the place to ourselves, one other person arrived while we were camping but they went to the other end of the area and we could not see or hear them from our site. There is some road noise but the lovely creek does a good job of drowning out most of it.
There is a good amount of mowed area to walk around and the creek to wade in as well as pretty views of the surrounding mountains. I would highly recommend this hip camp!

This campground is easy to get to, right off of Route 101, technically in Bayside, but right outside of Eureka proper. It is very clean, has really clean laundry facilities, hook-ups work great. There are fantastic lawn games including mini golf and pool/hot tub (seasonally).

This was a great spot! I wish we could have enjoyed the campsite for longer, but we just use it as a place to crash and arrived pretty late into the morning. Enough time spent to build the tent and take it down. The amenities were well stocked and it was great to be able to have a hot shower. I wish we would have been able to have a campfire, but maybe next time! For those who are spiderphobic as I am, there were quite a few the outhouse- style toilet, but it comes with the territory. The site and the property are easily accessible, highly recommend, thank you, Bo!
