Hawks Hideaway offers 8 campsites suitable for tents of all sizes, many of which can accommodate two or more tents (additional fees may apply). We also have a large, unfurnished teepee, and are working on a cozy, furnished country cottage. (ETA Sept 25). Large trailers and RVs are NOT allowed.
Nearby activities include: bird watching, hiking, river rafting or tubing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, stargazing, and rockhounding. This area conforms to the Arizona Dark Sky initiative, and while we are not dark-sky certified, we've had several guests compliment us on our beautiful skys. When it comes to rockhounding, or amateur geology, this is a fantastic area for exploration and study.
We gladly welcome pets, as long as you take care of all their needs, including cleaning up any mess and filling in any holes. Well mannered, friendly dogs may be unleashed from time to time. Please, PLEASE watch your small pets carefully. If you're traveling with cats, please keep them on a lead.
There is a riding academy and boarding facility adjacent to our property, and a long pleasant trail allows horseback riders, hikers and cyclists to travel along the Verde Greenway into Old Town Cottonwood, a pleasant 30 minute walk through lush riparian area.
Hawks Hideaway is a family owned property, occupied by a 3rd and 4th generation, mother-son team. Two generations have lived and died here before us and we are proud to be the custodians of this majestic property, full of old growth, gigantic cottonwood trees. A birdwatcher, or naturalists dream.
Hawks Hideaway is a natural and secluded spot located directly adjacent to the state-maintained Verde River Greenway. This means you may encounter wildlife and pests associated with being in such close connection to nature.
Hawks Hideaway is next to many miles of wilderness. You may see or encounter wildlife of all kinds, most are harmless, some are dangerous. It is your responsibility to know the difference. Be prepared to tuck your food away and bring ample protection from the insects.
You are responsible for your own safety and are camping here at you own risk. Please do not interact with any wild animals. If you encounter something and need help, please reach out to us. We live on the property and are readily available.

At 6000ft elevation the air is much cleaner and the weather is much cooler, especially in the summer time! We have plenty of space. A well house to fill up your water. There are also outdoor bathrooms, no shower yet, but working on that! We're just a short seven minute drive to the dump station at a local gas station down the road on the Deuce of Clubs and Penrod. We are 14 minutes from a large hospital, 10 minutes from major grocery stores, shopping and restaurants, and many other fun activities. Our location is in a perfect spot to enjoy the blue sky and great weather. Sunrise Ski area is a quick drive too! Pinetop Lakeside are within 10 minutes, Taylor and Snowflake are within 15 to 25 minutes. We hope you visit and continue to keep our environment clean and a chill spot to visit. We are home to a family-friendly honky-tonk, and microbrewery, now open. Please check our Instagram or Facebook @the4sbarn and @greatskycampranch_showlowaz for updates. This park offers rugged desert mountains, colorful canyons, and the Colorado River. Keep an eye out for beavertail cactus, wild burros, the famous bighorn sheep and thousands of migratory birds. Hike through the mountains to see great views from above. Dip your line in the Colorado River to catch your dinner.

Site#1 has Full Hook Up - Running water, sewage RV Hookup of 30amp and 50amp electricity, for $45. Site#2 and Site#3 are side by side. They have running water and priced at $25. each. These two Sites are better for tents or a small trailer. A personal generator may be used but only during certain hours. These are lovely spots with shade trees, so pretty. There are lots of mature Juniper trees and some Pine trees that provide shade on the property. Often we experience a lovely breeze. We live a mile off of 260 on a rugged dirt road. We keep the Entrance Gate locked for safety and security.
We are located on 2 acres and have a garden and a green house where we grow a large variety of vegetables. We only accept trailers and fifth wheels of 21 feet or less on site #2 and #3. There is a Chicken House and a rooster and we have plenty of farm fresh eggs that are available to purchase.
0ur home is tucked away 1 mile off the 260 Hwy. on a rugged dirt road. First you will drive pass the Linden Valley Arena before reaching our property. The Arena was designed for ropers by ropers and is open from May thru September.
10-15 minute drive away is Fool Hollow lake, Show Low City Park, Safeway Grocery Store, Post Office, Library, and a variety of restaurants. Within that distance there is Boating, Fishing, Hiking, Picnic Areas, Large Dog Park, well equipped Playground area, Basketball Courts, Baseball fields, Sand Volley Ball, Tennis Courts, Racquet Ball Court, Horseshoe Pits, Disc Golf, Outdoor Exercise Stations, Walking Trail, Pavilions, Restrooms all the while enjoying the enormous, plentiful Ponderosa Pines. Show Low City Park Aquatic Center has 6 lane 25-yard pool with an adjoining leisure pool featuring zero-depth entry, Spray Fountain, Water Slide, Indoor Spa.
Show Low was named by the turn of a Card. A ranch of nearly 100,000 acres jointly owned by Marion Clark and Croydon Cooley a U.S. army scout. According to legend, sometime around 1876, the partners decided that there was not enough room for both of them
and one of them should leave. They decided to settle this issue over a game of "Seven Up" (with the winner taking the ranch and the loser leaving.) After the game seemed to have no winner in sight the game reached it's climax when
Clark said, "If you can show low, you win." At this point
Cooley turned up the deuce of clubs, and declared "Show Low" it is! Show Low
is a city in Navajo County, Arizona
among the lush green ponderosa pine forestland and along Arizona's Mogollon Rim at an elevation of 6,345 feet. Show Low is now the largest city in the White Mountains of northeastern Arizona. Show Low is also the business hub and marketing center of the area.

This spacious land is over 4 acres of high desert with breathtaking 360 degree views.
Only 45 minutes from Flagstaff, 30 minutes from the historic Grand Canyon, and only 36 minutes from Williams, this property is in the middle of it all. There is so much potential for amazing adventures.
You could go fishing in Williams or have a snowball fight in Flagstaff. If you have never seen the Grand Canyon you are in for an ultimate life changing experience.
The dark night skies in this area may just keep you at camp. You can see every star out here and enjoy the escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. With wide open spaces you have so much room to play.
The road to the property is about 0.8 miles and is considered dirt rugged. It will require you to so down under 5 miles an hour in a few places. You have the entire road to travel on and maneuver around the big bumps. I drive my car to the property ever time and don't have an issue if I slow down and go around large holes. If there is a recent storm in the area the road could be difficult to navigate.

Gary and Daren thought of everything and were fun to talk to. This place was more than we expected. They have created a beautiful oasis--or sacred spring, if you will. We cannot wait to return one day for a longer stay. Very close to Montezuma Well and Castle. As well as a short drice to Sedona, if you're looking to be near.

We booked Sacred Springs as a basecamp for exploring Sedona, but quickly found ourselves eager to return to camp as much as any adventure.
Gary and Daren have created something truly special. Every detail feels intentional—from the spotless facilities and beautifully maintained grounds to the well-stocked community room with cookware, spices, oils, and other essentials—their guests’ comfort is clearly at the heart of everything they do.
The amenities exceeded our expectations: fresh eggs from the chicken coop, a running toilet, rainfall and solar showers, paddleboards, kayaks, floaties, private creek access, and a peaceful walking path. Everything was clean, organized, and welcoming.
The creek is a hidden oasis, and some of our favorite moments of the trip were spent swimming, paddling, floating, or simply relaxing by the water.
Gary's hospitality is exceptional, striking the perfect balance between being available and giving guests plenty of space. You can tell he genuinely cares about the experience people have here. While it may be a rare sighting to see Daren, as he’s always working behind the scenes, his presence is evident throughout the landscaping, gardens, and natural beauty of the property—Hi, Daren 👋🏻!
Their strengths complement one another perfectly. Together, they've created a place that feels less like a campground and more like a labor of love.
We arrived expecting a place to stay and left grateful, and we look forward to our return to Sacred Springs!

Great location. Gary checked me in and was very kind and showed me all the amenities provided. Fire pits, well kept showers and bathroom, and a wonderful hiking path down to a creek where kayaks and paddle boards were provided. I want to come back to this location again.

2 nights at Sacred Springs-Private creek access
I had such an amazing and magical stay here! I felt safe and welcome - Gary & Daren’s beautiful space was the perfect sanctuary for a lot of growth, stillness, and exploration. The stars were bright, the wildlife was plentiful (rabbits, hummingbirds, little lizards, fish and hawks at the creek, and even a little chicken coop - all kept their distance yet were calm; a clear sign that they are well cared for and respected). The creek’s flowing waters were a wonderful contrast to the Sedona desert red rocks (only 30 minutes away and where I’d spend my mornings hiking before spending the rest of the day exploring and resting in Sacred Springs). Gary & Daren even made sure I was set up to safely burn my old hair, which was an important ritual that lesser hosts might have looked down upon or judged. Instead, I was reassured, welcomed, and given the materials and space I needed to complete this symbolic moment. I’m so grateful! Plus, their facilities and amenities meant that I could be comfortable and clean even while in the dessert and pushing myself outside my comfort zone! I hope to be back one day and will recommend Sacred Springs and Eagle Eye to anyone coming this way. Whether you’re looking for a fun outdoors experience or a quiet, restful space to integrate a deeper internal journey, you’ll find a perfect space here!

Just finished three nights at Hawks Hideaway with a big group of six adults and four kids, toddler included, and it was a really great trip. Site #7 Riverwalk lived up to its name, the path down to the river was lovely and the kids spent a ton of time there. We even spotted some wild deer wandering around the property, which was a nice surprise.
Beautiful spot overall. Would definitely come back.

We thoroughly appreciated the location provided, particularly its secure, fenced perimeter, which allowed our dogs to roam freely and safely off-leash. The presence of the shower house and the freestanding toilet facility significantly enhanced our experience, elevating our camping trip to a glamping experience. Furthermore, the freshly gathered eggs provided by the host were a delightful addition.

Group trip
Hope to return again & again. The location was very comfortable and it provided the rest we were looking for. Also discovered that Cottonwood is one of our new favorite weekend getaway destinations for boutique shopping & unique restaurants. The night sky & views were better than expected. Great experience & Vicky was excellent with communication.

What a gem! Laura was so welcoming and helpful. The property is beautiful, with a flushing toilet and sweet shower! Just a short walk to a dreamy stream that my dogs and I enjoyed very much. I will be back again for sure!!!

Great place to camp near Cottonwood! It's so peaceful camping here, the spot was very clean, and I love the big tree that provided a lot of shade. My favorite thing to do here is walk to the little Verde river spot that you can walk to from the camp spot. It's so beautiful there! Overall I would 100 % recommend Vicky's hipcamp spot. Vicky responds quickly to messages and is a great host. Thanks so much! :)

Laura answered my phone call after I found her place on The Dyrt app. She met us after we found the property, which was straight forward except that the address provided was for the house on the other side of the street. She showed us the campsite, which wasn’t spacious, shaded by a large sycamore, and safe-feeling, being surrounded by a chainlink fence. She also sold us some large brown fresh eggs and told us where we could go for a swim in the creek! All-around great experience, but my favorite thing was probably the rustic stone shower building containing a shower with ample pressure…try not to waste water though! We didn’t see the alpacas or that would have probably been my favorite.

We had an amazing stay at Sacred Springs and would definitely recommend it. The hosts, Gary and Daren, were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond showing us around and making sure we had everything we needed. You can really tell how much care and effort they’ve put into creating this space, It’s absolutely lovely.
The creek was one of our favorite parts. It’s the perfect spot to cool off, relax, and even do a little paddle boarding. Overall, such a peaceful and well thought out little getaway. We’d happily come back again!

Perfect lil camp spot, would love to stay again next time I'm in the area! Quiet, clean, and friendly. Soft flat ground at our site #3. It was so nice and thoughtful of the host to provide the porta potties and wash stations that was above and beyond and very much appreciated. Thanks for the peaceful visit!
