We have a TAB 320s boondock trailer and couldn’t wait to get out “away from it all.” Well, Paula’s campsites are just that!! The site was pretty much level, free of clutter, has a porta-pot on site, a fire ring, and if requested, firewood. The area also has a small canyon/creek, a small natural arch, and interesting rock formations as you drive in. The roads are a bit rough but worth it being 21 miles outside of Winslow, AZ.
Thanks Paula for a great camping spot. We will definitely stay again!!!!

Beautiful land to camp on and canyon to explore. My dog and I loved running around. Fire wood on site is a huge plus. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Gravel road to get there. 2.8 miles of it. Once there it was a wide open space. I ordered firewood. So glad I did. We had a guitar jam by the fire that was epic. Really felt the backroad of America vibe. We stayed 2 nights. 🎈

Beautiful views, peaceful, felt remote. A little ragged navigating the dirt roads in after dark; DEFINATELY recommend DAYLIGHT for this! Communication with Paula was easy, and everything was exactly "as advertised."
And the stars! Even with the moon, beautiful!

Was a great quiet spot to sleep at on my way to the Grand Canyon, I arrived later in the evening and the instructions got me to my spot despite it already being dark out. I will use this spot again and recommend it to my friends and family.

This place was incredible! We loved every second spent on the property. It feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, even though the interstate is 5 miles away. Paula provided more than enough firewood, and a porta-potty within walking distance of the site. She stopped by in the morning to check on us, but aside from that, never saw another human. It was incredibly relaxing. Just a quiet night under the stars.
The last portion of the trip is a bumpy dirt road, as others have mentioned, but I had my truck fully loaded with equipment, and never felt the need to move out of 2WD. You won’t need a 4x4 to get to the property. You WILL however want some daylight to make your way to camp, obviously.

Beautiful desert land with incredible skies! The site is easy to get to but remote enough that you’ll feel secluded. Paula is a friendly host but you will mostly be left to enjoy the land and sky on your own. Road is a little rough getting out there but nothing 2WD can’t handle. Wind can be intense on the hill top and the ground is stony but plenty of large rocks to anchor with.

I had a large family, my wife, five children, and 77 year old mother. We enjoyed ourselves. It was quiet and serene.
The children and I loved the canyon, although the water had dried up. Everything about the campsite was exactly as the hosted described. The view was stunning. Sunset, star gazing and beautiful sunrise with the mountain range in the backdrop.
Cell phone service is great.
The portable toilets were dirty and hadn’t been cleaned in the while, mostly dirt in it. The roads are bumpy getting to the site but driving slow will get you there, at least when it’s dry.
I would camp here again.

Beautiful scenery and very secluded. Had a wonderful night camping here with my dog. I wished I was staying longer. It was easy to find and 4 wheel drive isn’t needed. A sedan can make it if you drive slowly. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a campsite off the beaten path.

-The property sign was displaced so we had a hard time finding it initially
-The dirt road getting to the site is approximately 2 miles of pot holes, washboards, and large rocks
-There was a loose dog on the property that was friendly and playful but since we had our dog with us, he “marked his territory” on our belongings

We stayed at site #2 with a 14ft trailer.
The Good:
Easy to park the trailer, great views, Paula is a great host, she is working on a structure which we used with a line to hang some towels.
The Bad:
The road in is very rough! We travelled slowly while towing, but it was OK enough to drive out and back with our truck.
We left early due to forecasted high winds, so not a site problem but something to consider for Winslow.
The Ugly:
The restrooms needed cleaning, we opted to use our own camp toilet.

This is an amazing place! Paula is laid back and loves for people to explore on her 40 acres! It’s a dream camp site for a large family of ten like ours! Hike down the canyon behind her house and come to an incredibly beautiful deep green water filled gorge. You can kayak up there for an extra adventure! This was our second stay at her place and I’m sure we’ll be looking forward to it the next time we come through, as well! It’s worth the long drive on the gravel road to get there!

I visited site1. The location is beautiful, and it offers great privacy, which is a big advantage. However, I noticed trash and junk scattered around the area, which detracts from the experience. Additionally, the restrooms were very dirty, and there was no toilet paper, which made things uncomfortable. That said, with some investment and better maintenance, this place could be amazing.

I booked two nights and stayed one. Even though the host indicated the road was rocky, it was ROCKY, rutted, washboard and slow-going. I was in my minivan camper. The clearance was not an issue. The road was rough and there are a few miles of it. I arrived close to dusk so little time to set up. There is a very large contained area (10' or more) with some kind of crumbling rock or adobe structure about the size of a well house in the middle. I believe this was referred to as the communal firepit. It also contained trash, a tennis shoe, a pair of tongs, and various broken boards. I had ordered a $10 firewood bundle and was disappointed at what I got. I never used it so hope the next person enjoys. The porta john did not have toilet paper. There were three empty cardboard rolls, two on the dispensers and one in the floor. Luckily, I had my own. I thought the sky and the sunset were beautiful. I've stayed on BLM land that was cleaner than this and. That is the problem. If I'm paying for a campsite, I'd at least like to camp someplace without debris littering the ground. I had planned to drive into Winslow the next day but did not want to travel that road again. My car radio now has a wiring short from the bumps and comes on at will. Or else I picked up a ghostly hitchhiker on the property. LOL

Our group of 4 plus a dog had a wonderful time at campsite 1! This was a unique spot with plenty of space and could hike down into the river bed and down to the Little Colorado River. Pretty close to town too.

The directions were very well written, however the road was a little rocky. This was my very first hip camp so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was by myself and it was a little scary at first, but I would definitely go with a couple of other people. The amazing sunset and sunrise made it a very positive experience!
