Lovely Yurt- Not so private
It is a lovely yurt with a gorgeous view. Some amenities that made this yurt stand out from others is that it had potable running water, gas fireplace, outhouse with dry compost system, comfortable bed, functional layout, USB charging station, and a deck with a beautiful view of the mountains. It was also a great bonus that it is dog-friendly.
However, I feel we were misled by the description and reviews we had read regarding the privacy. Because of the proximity to another yurt up the road past ours, and the house across the way, there were cars and trucks driving nearby/past our yurt throughout the day and late into the evening. Additionally, both properties had dogs which would bark and cause our reactive dog to bark at all hours of the day and late at night (this is one of the reasons we do not go camping at campgrounds and instead choose isolated spots).
When we arrived, there was helpful paperwork with recommendations for nearby restaurants and places to visit. We received good communication from the host, and overall had a good experience for our week-long visit. I would recommend this yurt to anyone who is looking for a beautiful location with comfortable lodging, but is not desiring complete isolation. I would not recommend the yurt to anyone who plans on bringing a dog who is reactive to barking (or vehicles approaching your property), or anyone wishing to be immersed in nature with no neighbors.
