5G/LTE cellphone service is good for Bell, Rogers and Telus networks. We have 3 outhouses on the premises and an outdoor hot shower.
FREE Firewood can be gathered on the forest floor or pay for on-site pre-cut wood. Outhouses are close to campsites....but not too close 💩
Port Rowan is only 12 minutes away by car, most amenities can be purchased only 1 minute away at the local Busy Bee gas station.
We are situated in the middle of a Recreation Hotspot! Our site is within 3 minutes of paddling the Big Creek, 3 to 10 minutes to several A+ hiking trails, 15 minutes to amazing freshwater beaches of Long Point and Turkey Point, and the area is abound with cycling trails, motorcycle routes, geocaching, boat launches (we have room here for your boat!), cider/wine tours, and more! We are the perfect basecamp for everything the Long Point Bay area has to offer
We have some great watering holes nearby like burning kiln winery, hounds of Erie and Charlotteville brewing company.

This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community.
It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night.
The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead.
There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company.
Here is what the land offers:
-Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023

Throughout the property are numerous short, looping, walking trails that meander throughout the Sugar bush, pasture area, 3 season pond, and our farm animal "homes". These trails are perfect for short nature walks, where you'll experience natural wildflowers and plants, see and hear song birds, small animal wildlife and of course, farm life too.
We are also located on the edge of the Eastern Ontario "Dark Sky" Area, which means we have a very nice view from the edge of our pasture of the North Sky stars on a clear night, with very minimal light pollution.
Our varied collection of farm animals includes; lots of chickens, (including roosters who DO crow in the early morning hours), miniature goats, horses, a couple of barn cats, and a dog.
During your stay with us you are welcome to come learn about and interact with our animals and daily farm life, if you so desire, and farm fresh eggs, maple syrup, local honey, and homemade baked goods, are also available to purchase too. (check out our "Extras" Section at booking page.

Heavens Acres has been a stop over since the 1850's for people travelling by horse from Toronto to Owen Sound.
We have 100 acres surrounded by another 200 acres of conservation land.
There is camping in the pine forest as well at the very back of the property where you will find a hardwood bush with trails.
Please note that the hipcamp map shows a large body of water on the property, as does google driving maps.
It is a marsh, not a lake.
Google Earth shows it better.
There is however, a creek and pond, but don't bring your boat. :)
This is a "LEAVE NO TRACE" campsite, so please take all garbage when you leave.
There is no water or power, but there is an outhouse
Your furry friends are allowed for free but if you have extra people please pay for them.
You can adjust your booking if there are more people than originally requested.
This covers costs like insurance and private property access, property taxes and the huge initial investment.
Please note that in the winter months. There’s a $25 surcharge.
This is required for snow removal to access the sites that are at at least 1 km into the bush.
We are in a snow belt area and it is very difficult to keep the sites open in the winter.

There are four acres of woods to explore right beside Townsend Lake, a small, quiet lake perfect for canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. Parts of the famous hiking trail, The Bruce Trail, are also easily accessible from Townsend Lake.

Beautiful land by the river. Chris and his family were the perfect hosts. We had the cabin for two nights and it was perfect. Everything in the kitchen for cooking was supplied and Chris also brought down a battery charging our cooler.

My grandson and I really enjoyed our stay at White Pines Retreat! The cabin was attractive, clean, and comfortably laid out, and came with some lovely extras, including phone chargers, a Keurig, a zipline, and inflatable chairs for the lazy river.
The owners know the area well. They are very responsive to any requests, helpful, and just genuinely nice people! We are looking forward to returning!

Weekend Trip to Foresthill Retreat
This was the perfect cross between camping and glamping. The tent was a great size for me and my two friends. We forgot our speaker but the cd player provided has bluetooth so that was convenient! Every time was realize we forgot something (cooking utensils, cups, ects) Foresthill already had us covered. The plant life in the bush around us was fantastic! Boasting all the typical suspects this time of year wild grapes, black eyed susans, chicory, ect. The mini fridge was a great surprise considering we didn’t expect there to be one. So if you are a gourmand there is nothing stopping you from going to town on making a Michelin star meal.
The best part (aside from getting to sleep in a bed) was the fireflies. They surrounded the campsite and made an already comfortable experience magical.
Thank you again Foresthill Retreat and Dale. I will definitely be booking again and suggesting this place to our friends.

Honestly, better than any Airbnb or bnb…. So many thoughtful touches. Beautiful natural light, a wonderful view of “Tango’s” meadow… I’d stay again in a heartbeat. One of the best nights sleep I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend.

Beautiful pine forest which backs onto the Saugeen River , where you can swim, Take a canoe out and have some water fun. Nice walking trails on the property, Has a hot shower , Outhouse , Water up at Joan's Cabin available and sink. for your convenience . There are two Bunkie's available and several tent camp spots nicely place in the pine forest. Firewood is available for $ 10.00 a bag . The hosts property is dog friendly, , your dog can run around the 10.5 acre's with the hosts two friendly dogs " Sid " & "Onyx". It is advised to keep food items locked in a cooler due to wildlife in the area , that could get into it , Racoons, Chipmunks, skunks ,.. One never knows . Flesherton is nearby and has a wonder bakery , various other stores and gas stations . There are waterfalls one can go view . Joan is an epic friendly host and accommodating and very helpful. even for those that are camping for the first time . This is my dog and my 3rd time at " Pine The Sky" I love the peace . being able to take in nature . Ill go back again. Sue Z. & Hunter

This place looks exactly as it does in the pictures! It was the perfect getaway for my family this weekend! We loved the screened in dining/hang out space, and the kids were fully entertained playing on the sand beach. Theresa was welcoming and very quick with replying to any messages throughout our stay.

Group trip
Our group had a wonderful time at Gillian’s campsite. The place is beautiful wide open space and a river by the site. Peaceful and exclusive to your group. The owners were accommodating and very helpful with moving all of our camping gears using their ATV. There’s some activities for the kids kept them entertained. Looking forward to be back in this place again soon!

Last minute, great stay! I booked it that morning and we are so happy we did. The river wasn't accessible, but there was 2 awesome public beaches within a 10 minute drive.

The river flowing through… YES, you can sit in and enjoy! Sooo refreshing, for both my dog and myself, as it was very hot during my stay. Natalie was very welcoming to both of us and My puppy truly enjoyed the loving attention given. It’s called the Blue Heron but we also experienced deer crossing in the water, beaver and maybe otters/mink playing in the water, a cute fox, a raccoon and a porcupine!
Definitely a beautiful spot for relaxing!
