There is communal space in the historic barn that has a kitchenette, farmhouse table and sofas for all of my guests to retreat to when the weather outside is too cold or rainy. The vision going forward is for Deer Lake Wilderness Retreat to become a community where people can come together for workshops and a sense of community. This cabin offers "glamping" at its finest. You will not be completely off-grid, there is electricity and Wi-Fi is available at the trailhead. Outside, there is a new private outhouse with a compost toilet, outdoor shower, sink and basin for washing. Showers are outdoor and solar (or kettle) heated. Please stay on the trails and limit walking on the moss to reduce damage to this magical environment.
