What a great location! Gorgeous rock point out into the lake, incredible view all around! The tent sites are better for smaller tents and are sloped but we made it work. We look forward to coming back in August.

Katrina & Graham’s Grayotter Cabin is such a beautiful place. Nestled in a river bend you could hear the rumble of the rapids lying in bed at night! It is such a gorgeous natural setting. The cabin is an amazing off grid space and has just about everything. Just add water! There is plenty of firewood, two fire pits outside and a cozy woodstove! We absolutely enjoyed our stay there and would highly recommend it for anyone wanting to get away from it all in a pristine natural environment. The hosts are super responsive to answer any questions and made us feel very welcome. Our dog Patches loved our little weekend away!!

Tiny Village Woodland was the perfect get away and reunion spots for my friends and I! There were great view, clean showers and bathroom and a beach equipped with loads of activities to keep you busy. Would definitely revisit, great people, easy to communicate with host.

Weekend Trip to Riverbend

I couldn't stay away for long after I found this gem last year. My second visit, just as peacefull and relaxing as I remembered. Falling asleep with the sound of rushing water from the river is amazing. Finally got to enjoy the second firepit by the water so calming. Weekend Trip to Foresthill Retreat

My family and I had a great time at Dale's site for my daughter's 13th birthday. Dale was super responsive, and provided lots of extra bedding, a space heater and a projector. It was a bit of a wet night, so he even brought over dry firewood so the kids could make s'mores! The property itself is well kept, and you can tell a lot of love went into creating this experience for people looking to get away from the city. Can't wait to be back again!

Very cute yurt! A great spot to send a few days! It rain lots during our weekend here, but thankfully when we were forced inside there were games and movies to occupy us! We were kept very dry despite the hours and thunderstorms in the lovely yurt!

Southern Heights Acres

Our land is very private and beautifully sheltered by trees all around the campsite. There is an open field as well that also has trees on the outskirts. A video is available upon request! Fenella is a small village about 7 min away that has a large convenience/ grocery/Beer store as well as gas stations and Canabis beyond belief ! Go carts, food trucks and the best Butter Tart Factory as well! Warkworth is a town east of us about 20 min and Cobourg is 20 min South of us. Many shopping experiences available. Primrose Donkey Sanctuary is down the road a few minutes which we highly suggest visiting. Look their hours up before planning a visit! We have easy access up our road about 1 km to the Northumberland Trails where you can ride your horses, cycle, ride your ATVs,walk or jog. We have goats and can provide goat walks on our own trails. Goat walks are about 30 minutes generally and $15 per walk. Our own Free Range eggs are available for $7/doz as well as firewood for $10 per bundle Dogs are welcome as long as they are constantly on a leash, as we have chickens that free range! We ask that you bring your own water and hydro please. We hosted 35-40 endurance horses and their riders in August of 2022! We welcome tents and all trailers!

Hemlock Point Campground

Hemlock Point is a set on a private waterway fed by the Black River, and is great for kayaking and canoeing. Campers are also welcome to hike the marked waterfront trail or others within the 56 acre property, just down the road is the Black river bridge and put-in for the Black river paddling route to the Queensboro Dam. ATV's are permitted on the road, and friendly dogs are welcome off leash. This is a unique landscape, nestled between Mt. Moriah , the Elzevir pluton complex and the Black River in an ultramafic zone, with coloured quartz veins and pillowed granite outcroppings. Mixed forest with varied species of deciduous and conifer trees due to historical aerial seeding, after a forest fire over 80 years ago, leaving charred stumps that can still be found from natural char preservation. Home to pileated woodpeckers, hawks, eagles and kingfishers, otters, fishers, and everything in between, either from the vantage of the hammock or on a hike in the forest this natural site won't disappoint.

This property was part of an old homestead and as such I am still finding things so please respect the caution tape and stay on the marked trails. Some are treasures (European Grapes, Bergamot, French Roses, Asparagus, Rhubarb, Ramps, Fiddle-heads) and others not so much. I am re purposing what I can and collecting the rest for disposal as I nurture this land back to what it was meant to be, paradise. There is an outdoor shower available as well. We recommend that you park on the upper portion of this driveway/road and walk or use an ATV to travel on the trail to the lake. As mentioned, there is about a 40 ft incline just as you approach the clearing down by the lake . Please wear running/walking shoes and descend slowly down either of the 2 trails provided. The trail "Easy Street" is definitely an easier descent and climb. Learn more about this land: Situated just off the main road, The Ridge Retreat offers you the privacy and beauty of 6 unspoiled acres. Follow the gravel walkway/road down (5 min walk) to your amazing private dock situated on Howes Lake, Verona Ontario. Deep, clean water for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, etc. There are 2 firepits should you decide to have a campfire - one at the road site (RV and trailer) and one at the waters edge. This property provides privacy and solitude for nature lovers. The designated RV parking spot is up near the main road along with a very nice outhouse but if you decide to tent camp, there are a few choices that would bring you closer to the water's edge. An additional outhouse is located at the top of the incline to the lake. The gravel/asphalt trail down by the lake is the steeper of the 2 trails. Choose the "Easy Street" trail off to your right after you pass the stop sign indicating that no vehicles should drive beyond. This trail is a bit longer but a much more gradual incline. Grocery shopping, nature trails, etc are just a few minutes away. The scenic town of Westport is a 30 min drive away with amazing shops and a local winery.

Down by the River

If you want privacy and seclusion this is your place . Our family lives on 80 acres 8 minutes from the town of Campbellford. We are on a dead end road out in the country. Upon arrival simply turn into our driveway and drive right past our house following the dirt path. Turn left just down the hill to the River. We are located on Bradley Bay on the Trent river with kms of lock free boating between Percy Boom and Glen Ross . We are located across from an island called Anderson island. Pike, pickeral, bass , Muskie ,channel cat ,and pan fish are in these waters. Our point is very private with plenty of birds and wild life to watch . We have one of our trails marked clearly threw out the woods for you to enjoy . We have a complementary canoe, 1 adult kayak, 1 adult SUP and 1 child’s kayaks . Life jackets and boat safety kits are also available . On the point we have a small fire pit and 2 docks. 1 of the docks face the river and one is up our little lagoon . A wonderful place for adults and children alike to fish , swim , relax and catch frogs and fire flies. We do have a few chairs and a child’s little turtle pool to swim and play in. The point is a long narrow grassy area. There are about 3 spots you could park a trailer . We think currently the max length would be a 24 foot trailer we could accommodate until we are able to open up the area a bit more. A small fishing boot about 14 foot and under could be launched at our water entry otherwise the closest public launch is about 5 minutes down the road . If we plan it ahead we have water from our well from a hose available. We are happy to let you fill your trailer up with water from our house hose on the way down to the point or any jugs you may have. Otherwise Ferris Provincial Park is about 7 minutes away. There is a water filling station and dumping station there for a small fee from the park. Things to do In area is the well known suspension bridge located in Campbellford. Doohers bakery and the Empire Cheese Factory and Chocolate Factory all within 10 minutes from our house . We also have local Breweries in the area, one being about 8 minutes away called the Fogorig Brewing. Campbellford is full of little shops and stores. It’s a beautiful walk back towards our house and down the laneway to the road as well. Great quiet country road for children and adults alike to go for a bike ride or walk along the road beside farmers fields where usually deer and sandhill cranes are seen. We usually touch base with our campers a week or so before there arrival date to give exact directions to our house via Hipcamp message. Upon arrival if arranged ahead of time we can be here to meet and greet you and ensure you are settled in. Otherwise there isn't a guarantee we will be at the property upon arrival but we can ensure that we will always have someone by phone for you to reach if need be at all times.

Halfway between Toronto and Ottawa, the area of Belleville is part of the Lake Ontario plain which provides relatively flat, fertile farmland, gentle slopes, and many bodies of water. The Bay of Quinte offers terrific sailing and walleye fishing. Beachfront camping in Prince Edward County, just south of Belleville, brings campers close to charming wineries and local farms. Further north, Bon Echo Provincial Park is famous for Mazinaw Rock, a lakeside cliff adorned with ancient First Nations pictographs. Or try out Thousand Islands National Park—it offers unique island camping experiences accessible only by boat.

Just across Belleville Bay Bridge, Prince Edward County is home to beaches, Lake Ontario waters, and Sandbanks Provincial Park. One of the most unique camping experiences available near Belleville is Thousand Islands National Park on St. Lawrence River. Both mainland and island camping are available, but island access is only by private boat. Amenities vary by island and may not include potable water.
