We have a 7 acre developing hobby farm currently with fruit trees, a garden, a king shepherd named Jack and a cat named Lulu. You may see some of our neighbour's ducks walking around and hear their rooster in the morning. Please note; our driveway is an uphill, switchback driveway so long trailers are not a fit for our location. Front wheel or 4 wheel is a plus but typically all vehicles can make it up our driveway. We have 2 swimming holes near and backing our property. At the back of the property is Hayward Lake/Hairsine Creek which is great for swimming. Inflatable paddle boards are the way to go if you wish to paddle board in the lake since it would be difficult portaging a rigid paddle board down the Crown Land trail. On the front is the Stave River Runoff. This has trails and is ideal if you have smaller children as the water is a bit warmer and has shallow areas. There are hiking trails in the area and a beach area a short drive from the sites.

Tucked into the front of our property in the quiet of Gabriola island you’ll find the converted Gertie bus with all the amenities you need. Weekend Trip to Mixed Barrel Farm

We had a wonderful time at the mixed barrel farm! Our 5-year-old son loved picking eggs, feeding animals, petting them. We had the chance to visit the bee farm and taste fresh honey from the hive! We all loved it. Leah and her husband wayne were both kind and helpful whenever we had questions. We will definitely come back again. Highly recommend it for families with children or anyone interested in farm life!

It was the perfect place to stay. Quiet, peaceful, and safe with lovely hosts. The location was close enough to the city but felt like we were in the country. I highly recommend! And they have amazing fresh eggs❤️

We had an amazing stay, thanks to Leah and her family's generosity with their time and place. The location is perfect. The farm beautiful. Our kids were absolutely in love with all the animals. The trailer is confortable and had everything we needed. And we loved the evenings by the fire outside. We'll be back !

We had a great time camping at Meadows Family Farm. The site is tucked at the back of the property at a separate entrance, but it's nice and quiet, far away from anyone. The petting zoo closes at 4, and you have the place to yourself after that.
