Welcome to the cabins at Wendego Lodge on Tranquille Lake. Enjoy your 100% off-grid, rustic cabin in the middle of the BC wilderness. You are right on the lake with beautiful views and may see bald eagles, osprey and moose.
This is an all-season property: swimming, boating, hiking and quadding in the SUMMER, hunting in the FALL, and ice fishing, snowmobiling (100s of km of trail right from your door) in the WINTER. All year long fish for natural rainbow trout and Kokanee.
This is a rustic 100% off-grid experience! There is no electricity in the cabins and cold running water in the summer.
SLEEPING: The cabin has two bedrooms separated by curtains from the living space and features: One queenTwo single bunksOne double futon
HEATING/COOKING:There is a wood stove for heat and cooking and wood is supplied and cold running water in the summer months. A wood burning BBQ is available for use and a huge upright smoker for your fish haul (bring your own propane cylinder).
BATHROOMS: There are no bathrooms in the cabin. Flush toilets and hot showers are available in the wash house steps away in the summer and in the lodge in the other months.
ELECTRICITY: The cabins have no electricity. Please bring your own lanterns and flashlights.
WATER FUN: The cabin is RIGHT ON THE WATER and in the summer we have dock for jumping off of or launching a boat. We have kayaks, floaties and paddle boards available on a first come first served basis. Boat rental with 6.5 HP motor also available for $99 a day. Ice fishing is excellent in the winter.
WE PROVIDE: dishes, cups, mugs, cutlery, cooking pots and some utensils.
YOU NEED TO BRING: whatever you need for sleeping (bags or blankets and sheets, pillows), food, drinking water, and personal items such as towels and toiletries. Firewood and water (from the lake) for washing is provided. There is no fridge so you will need to bring a cooler with ice for your perishables. Town is an hour away.
CHECK-OUT: Please leave the cabin clean and tidy and pack out all your garbage and left-over food.
ACCESS: We are located 50 km down a logging road and we advise access only by 4-wheel drive vehicles although many cars have made it in the summer.
In the winter, access is an ice road. Drivable but slippery.
We request that you call/email when you hit the gravel road 50 km away so we know when to expect you.
You have access to the lodge property, lake, dock, trails, grass area and kayaks/floaties/paddle boards when available.
Pets welcome with a $35 per pet per stay fee.

130 acres of lush kootenay cedar hemlock forest. A beautiful little spring fed creek flows through the property for about a kilometer which flows year round. The creek is fed by numerous small springs and streams coming out of the hillside on the property and up the mountainside. The forest is very diverse featuring many of the species found in bc as well as wildlife. Enjoy walking several kilometers of roads and paths on this private land. You will also enjoy the complete privacy and peacefulness to be found here. A few minutes up the road is rosebud lake, a hidden gem filled with turtles and other wildlife. We had a wonderful thanksgiving weekend at the fairy house. The weather wasn’t the greatest but we prepared for it. My boy Reggie had the best time being a dog, roaming and living his best life. This place has everything you need! Thank you so much for the hospitality, everything was perfect!

Do you want to get off grid but are too lazy to pack all the things necessary to do so? Look no further! The Fairy House has everything you need to cook delicious meals (plates, forks, cooking utensils, pots, bbq grill with side burner), stay warm (hot tub, instant hot water shower, and wood stove in the house), explore outdoors with your dog companion/s (lots of land with cool mushrooms growing everywhere).
We booked The Fairy House last minute and were so stoked to find it fitting our every need: time to disconnect, stars, forest walks, and hot tub time.
We have been to Salmo before and love the area. Went to Nelson, hiked near Ainsworth and then sat in the hot springs. Kootenay Lake is always beautiful too, and grabbed some delicious food in Nelson on our last night.
I don’t want to miss the absolute beauty of the craftsmanship that is this little house, bathhouse, and outhouse. Seriously, bravo! Thank you for sharing it with others and we hope to come back again.

Wow! What an incredible experience, you can really feel the pure energy and love that went into creating this place. This was exactly the whimsical getaway that we were looking for! I it was so nice being able to have our dog roam the properly off leash, and the cedar hottub and outdoor shower was absolutely amazing! We had such a lovely time! To be honest, we were positively surprised by how nice the cabin was! We had everything we needed and more! The bed was comfy, the kitchen well equipped, everything was very clean and tidy. We enjoyed our dinner on the deck and imagined what the view would be like, if it hadn't been so smoky :D Maria is a great host! Her communication before and during our stay was fantastic and when we met her before we checked out, she gave us a tour of the property and showed us the other cabins, which are all super nice! We would love to come back!

1 night at The Fairy House
When you drive in and see the bath house and then the cabin, it really feels like you’ve arrived at a Fairy House! ✨ You’re surrounded by beautiful forest, and the fairy lights strung around create such a magical vibe. Even though it was a hot day, the cabin stayed super cool inside, which felt amazing. Everything was sparkling clean, and the towels were soft and smelled wonderful :D
We had a lovely, peaceful time at the cabin. It is so quiet there, and you also have a lot of privacy. The next morning we went to Rosebud Lake for a refreshing swim, and on the way out we stopped at the cute little store and visited the goats across the street.
Thanks for the lovely getaway! We would definitely come back!

We enjoyed the hand crafted unique cabin in the woods. Our dogs loved to explore the property and had lots of space to run around. The wood operated hot tub was a unique bonus with lots of wood available and a new experience that I would highly recommend. The quiet and off the grid property was very relaxing and would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys nature and a little getaway!

From the moment we arrived, we knew Salmon Arm Camping Resort was something special. This isn't just a place to park your RV or pitch a tent; it's a family-run gem that feels like a true home away from home. The warmth and genuine hospitality of the owners and staff are what truly set this resort apart. They greeted us with a smile and were incredibly accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable and memorable stay.
The resort itself is a perfect blend of peaceful nature and fun amenities. Our site was spacious and private, nestled among beautiful, tall trees, providing a serene escape after a day of adventure. The facilities are top-notch and impeccably clean, from the well-maintained washrooms to the sparkling pool. The kids were entertained for hours with the mini-golf, playground, and pickleball court, while we enjoyed relaxing by the campfire at our site. The on-site store is a lifesaver, offering a fantastic selection of ice cream and other treats.
What we love most is the fantastic location. It feels secluded and tranquil, yet it's just a short drive to the beautiful Shuswap Lake and the town of Salmon Arm, with its charming downtown, great restaurants, and access to a wealth of outdoor activities. We spent our days exploring local hiking trails and relaxing at the beach, knowing we had a cozy and welcoming campsite to return to.
For anyone looking for a truly outstanding camping experience, we can't recommend Salmon Arm Camping Resort enough

We absolutely loved our stay at Wendego Lodge! The sauna is a must-try — it made swimming so much more enjoyable, especially since the lodge is higher up and evenings can get chilly. (Tip: bring some warm clothes for the night!)
The whole experience was so close to nature, peaceful and refreshing. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, and we have to say — their sourdough bread is delicious, a real treat!
We truly enjoyed every moment of our stay and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!

Christoph's Fairy Cabin was a quiet sanctuary away from the city. The ambiance was nice and peaceful, and very private. There is a lake about a 5-minute drive down the road, which has clean and clear water and was perfect for paddleboarding. The stars at night are breathtaking and all in all it was a perfect weekend getaway.

The hot tub was wonderful and loved having it covered in the rain. I can imagine this place would be so nice in the winter with snow! We stayed at Wendego Lodge for one night and had a wonderful experience. Our group of six stayed in a cozy cabin with three beds, which was clean, spacious, and charmingly organized.
The common fire area was a highlight, perfect for relaxing and spending time together. The views were absolutely stunning, and the lake and grounds were beautiful and peaceful. We didn’t get a chance to use the sauna, but it looked great and well-maintained.
The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this spot for a relaxing getaway in nature!

The place is really extraordinary, I haven't ever been in such before. I was afraid of the road, but there was no danger. it's good to call before you come to be sure what is the condition of the road In case there is a lot of rains it could be muddy. Ray is a fantastic host, very helpful. You can feel very free there. Cabins are clean. The only thing I would add are the mosquito nets in windows.

This is a truly special spot. The owners are warm, thoughtful people who go out of their way to ensure everyone is well looked after. The setting is stunning, right across from a beautiful lake, with kayaking, paddle boarding, motor boating, and even a serene sauna experience with lake views.
I was on a long road trip to the Yukon and a bit anxious about the off-road drive ahead. Ray generously offered to help if I ran into trouble—an incredibly kind gesture that has stuck with me.
This place sparked something creative in me—I even began writing a short story here. It’s the kind of place that inspires you to slow down and reconnect.
Excellent value for what you get. I'd absolutely return—and highly recommend it to anyone!
