We stayed a week as only campers, tent is very peaceful, Denis helped show us around and we had a great time
By around 5:30pm, we finally got a pin to a different location. When we arrived, the site was not what was advertised — construction equipment, tools, and garbage scattered everywhere, with no host in sight. It looked like someone might be squatting there, and it felt neither safe nor child-friendly. With three young kids and no way to reach the host, we didn’t feel we could risk staying, so we left to find somewhere else to sleep — which, being on an island, wasn’t simple.
Afterward, the host refused a full refund and tried to charge us for the two remaining nights, blaming us for not returning. He gave two different excuses for going silent that day (a lost phone, then no signal). Regardless of the reason, he wasn’t reachable when we needed to check in, and the site itself wasn’t in a safe or usable state.
We’d strongly caution other people against booking here.

We didn’t end up staying as when we got to the campsite it was not as we expected. The drive way was not cleared and as part of our group was planning on camping in a trailer we did not see it possible to make it up the driveway and find a flat place to park. The camping area is quite small and open and we were under the assumption that upon booking we would have the site to ourselves, but were told we would be sharing with another group. There were some random appliances around the property as well as cords running in the open. The property also advertises as dog friendly but we found glass on the ground and the wires/appliances didn’t seem safe for our pup. Upon speaking with the host it was clear our expectations were quite different so we decided to not stay at the property, we were disappointed we were not refunded and had travelled to the island from Victoria.
Our site was quiet and peaceful, although the driveway is quite overgrown, and facilities could be better.
Dennis met us upon arrival, showed around the site and was very informative about the natural surroundings.

Denis is such a kind and unique soul who wants to share his own little piece of paradise on the island.
His sites are primitive and need work so do not go if you are looking for luxury. But if you need a place to lay your head in nature while exploring the island then this is your spot.
