Penzance Bushland Retreat

1 site · RV, Tent15 acres · Durham Lead, VIC
... Hi there and welcome to our home, Penzance! We fell in love with our slice of heaven in 2010 and adore every back breaking inch of it. It was an over grown mess at the time, covered in broken bricks and beer cans. We've tried to keep the bush aspect while creating a park like surround with plenty of grassy space. We have big plans for our land and hope to build a steam museum in our other area over the creek. Excitingly, we will also be establishing a blacksmiths forge in that area, which was moved piece by piece from an historic farm at Avoca. Chris is an engineer, antique restorer and artisan working from home. I am an actor and artist working in metal, clay and paint. I'm inspired by my flower garden and the bush that frames it. We offer one site so privacy is assured. Larger groups can be accommodated, please enquire if you'd like to learn more. We look forward to welcoming you to Penzance.

Maluridae Regenerative Farm Stay

4 sites · RVs, Tents70 acres · Smeaton, VIC
One of the first things we noticed when we found this piece of land was an abundance of tiny blue & brown birds popping around everywhere, especially down by the creek. Superb Fairy Wrens. We thought they were so delightful we named our soon to be family farm after them, Maluridae.Maluridae is a holistic farm, we all have our part to play on the land in its’ restoration & regeneration. We are at the beginning of our farming journey, we have our momma cows & alpacas, our first plants have gone in for the food forest & clearing years of woody weeds along the riparian zone of the creek has begun. We have a few locals living with us, a platypus or 2 in the creek, wallabies, honey eaters, rosellas, wagtails, tiger snakes, blue tongues & even a giant hair I’ve named Harry who reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. Our goal is to regeneratively graze our cattle to sequester carbon & bring life & nutrients back to the soil, producing next level beef. Our alpacas will provide fibre for our family & for us to sell, but really they are the for the cuddles & incredible poop (for composting). Our food forest will provide for our family & the community, there will be an opportunity for people to visit & learn about what we’ve achieved along the way & takeaways from our mistakes. We anticipate 5 years to be fully functional & expect to be carbon neutral by then as well.

Goldfield Glamping is an exclusive luxury camping site, located in the beautiful landscape of Hepburnshire, in Central Victoria. We are situated within easy driving distance of Daylesford, Hepburn Springs, Castlemaine, and Maldon, as well as many day spas. Shops, cafes, and pubs closest to us can be found in Newstead and Guildford. We offer five intimate bell tents, along with private bathrooms and individual fire pits. There is a freshwater stream/creek Larni Barramai Yaluk at the bottom of the property. At night, the skies are brilliant with stars. We would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land. We pay our respects to their elders, both past and present, and to their children and young people, who are our future elders and caretakers of this great land.

Hidden Valley House, Anakie

7 sites · Lodging18 acres · Anakie, VIC
Hidden Valley House is nestled in Anakie, VIC, set within the scenic Brisbane National Ranges and only a 1-hour drive from Melbourne CBD. Taking into consideration our ethos around sustainability, the cabin is “off-grid” so solar powered with a composting toilet but with all the amenities you need. The cabin has spectacular views overlooking the valley with an abundance of wildlife and has a small creek and several caves which have formed over millions of years. As well as the cabin, we offer a camping area to larger groups that need overflow accommodation if the cabin is not big enough. This makes Hidden Valley House a fantastic option for large groups wanting to have all the comfort and amenities of the cabin, but experience the back-to-basic joy of camping in nature. Set on an 18-acre property at the start of the Brisbane National Ranges, it is home to koalas, kangaroos, echidnas, sugar gliders and an abundance of birds including eagles and kookaburras. Furthermore, the land is protected by Trust for Nature and Land for Wildlife offering long-term protection for many ecosystems, species and native wildlife. The property is surrounded by national parks and is only a short drive from charming, historical towns such as Meredith and Steiglitz and only 25mins to Geelong. A number of family-owned wineries are located nearby and within Victoria’s Moorabool Valley winery. AWD/4WD recommended

We have just taken over the property so lovingly developed by Jo and Hoff. We will continue to offer Book a Paddock & The Stables as listings for those wanting to camp or have a lux experience. Some of you have asked for parties and events. At this time we dont have the infrastructure in place to get this rolling. Thank you so so much for your support, your quiet and respectful enjoyment of our property. We are humbled you chose us to spend your heartbeats with. For now, Belinda and Robert ********************************************************************************* Exclusively yours, this acreage of privacy was historically a larger soldiers settlements property comprising a dairy, piggery and wool farming. The quality of the land hasn't changed with most of the region's farmland in use, so this is a cool piece of privacy in the Macedon Ranges. Currently home to our family, the property is also visited by many native Australian birdlife species, many marsupials including kangaroos, echidna, possums and even a koala. With close proximity to coffee shops and local stores of Romsey and Lancefield Providore, you have only a few minutes to drive to stock up on local produce. Walking the trials around Hanging Rock is a 10 minute drive and Mt Macedon lookout 15min. Barunah Plains is one of Victoria’s oldest sheep stations. We have opened it up to caravans to share the space with travellers who are working their way around Australia. Our caravan sites are limited currently to five. Our camping/van spots are the perfect getaway spot. Located on the heart of the Western District, you’ll feel truly hidden away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Plenty of spots to explore, the old buildings and farm are all heritage listed. A walk along the Warrambine Creek searching for the resident platypus is always fun.
