Our block is completely off grid, there is no power or water. Wildlife must not be disturbed). Under a minute drive to local creek and swimming hole. A few minutes drive to Wivenhoe dam recreation area. 15-minute drive to Fernvale for supplies (and one of the famous pies from the bakery). 20 minute drive to Somerset Dam for all your water sport fun. Stop at a swimming hole or lookout on your way up to scenic Mt Glorious. We are About a 15 minute drive from Northbrook Gorge, a popular local hike. What a fantastic spot to camp, the playground for the kids was fantastic and kept them entertained for hours. The grounds we well kept and each site was quite private so you felt like you had heaps of room. It was a very short drive to swimming holes or the lake which was great to cool off. Certainly a 10/10 from us and the kids are already asking when we are going back so I’ll definitely be booking it in again!!

We had a lovely time! Great spot with easy access to a swimming hole which was a great depth for the kids to take floats in and have a proper swim with shallow sections for paddling too. Private with easy access to the main. 100% recommend! We will be back!

Platypus Point was such a beautiful campsite, we stayed for a weekend but wish we had the whole week as it was so serene and relaxing. We honestly kept forgetting we were less than an hour from the city. Lexi and Kieren were also wonderful hosts, we really felt so welcomed and privileged to stay on their property. The directions for arrival were clear, we even got a map from the gate on the way in with some helpful tips and facts about the area. The communication throughout the whole trip was really appreciated as well, they made sure to let us know about a few truck deliveries and noises but we weren’t bothered by it at all. There was also kayaks left on the campsite which was just another added bonus on our trip as we spent most of our time on the water, which was also beautiful. Hopefully we’ll come back soon and be able to stay for longer as we had such an amazing time.

What an amazing place, the site is massive, so secluded, private and peaceful. Two beautiful swimming holes to cool off in. Access to the creek is easy and there is a rope to assist getting in and out for the deeper swimming hole. The wildlife is amazing to sit and watch and the cows come right up to the roped off site too. Would highly recommend this site to anyone. The hosts are brilliant, so friendly and great communication and to be able to buy firewood from them makes the stay so much better. We will be back again for sure!

Lovely cleared area with easy access to the river bank. Caught plenty of catfish, a couple turtles, a perch and a bass on our one night stay. I am pretty certain I saw a platypus also, a brown wide backed creature popped up and ducked back under the water pretty swiftly around 630am to the right of the point. Very private area and quiet. Saw one boat zoom past while we were fishing. Make sure you bring wood as the campfire ring was great to sit around at night. The lovely owners had freshly mowed the grass just before our arrival and had left a handy page of notes on the property for us at the gateway. We will definitely be back :) thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with us.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Danielle. The play area was a real hit with the kids, and the quiet and spacious camp was exactly what we needed. The real stand though, was Danielle's hospitality. Fate took us over Mt Glorious on the way there and our rig was definitely not ready for it. Danielle made sure that my girls and I were safe and comfortable while dad went back to rescue our van. Ill be forever grateful for her help and, for the great conversation that followed into the night! We will definitely put it on our list to visit again, but a tip - beware of the mountain pass!

This was a perfect Hipcamp experience. Everything from the communication, instructions, views, kayaks to use and ammenities were outstanding. We can’t wait to come back for a longer stay and relax with this view. We didn’t get lucky with the platypus this time, but so many birds, turtles and lizards. We had a big downpour in the morning but managed to get out no problem. The hosts, Kieran and Lexi, were so kind. They checked in re weather warnings, offered help in case, early check in to ensure the place was mowed in time, and even refunded me a night because my car wasn’t drivable, no fault of theirs. Thank you both so much, we can’t wait to come back!

The swimming hole is a beautiful little spot all to yourself right beside the running creek with crystal clear deeper spots and the water wasn’t freezing cold. The area is flat with plenty of shade for summer, or there is sunny areas for winter. Bryce was super friendly and accomodating delivering the firewood. Having phone reception is a bonus. We love this spot and will definitely be back soon.

Had the most relaxing time staying at platypus point, and will definitely be making it a regular stop! The scenery is to die for, so tranquil with the most spectacular sunset over the river. So much wildlife to spot, and exploring the creek looking for platypus is definitely a core memory. Camp-site is clean and well maintained, with a great firepit and picnic table which is so handy. Being warmer weather, we did spot one pretty little eastern brown snake, so be sensible and wear decent footwear when exploring. Remember it's their home first, and we are just visiting! Hosts are super friendly and helpful. Thanks so much once again, we cant wait to come back.

Had such a beautiful stay at Lexi and Kieran’s land. From the moment I arrived, Lexi was absolutely lovely — warm and welcoming. There’s only one campsite on the property, so we had the whole place entirely to ourselves, which made it feel extra peaceful and private. The view of the river was just stunning. Took the kayak out for a paddle and it was so calm and relaxing on the water. My two dogs had the best time exploring, playing, and just being out in nature — it was perfect for them. Everything about this spot was serene, clean, and well looked after. Such a great place to camp if you’re looking for quiet, space, and a beautiful natural setting. Highly recommend, and I’d happily come back again.

Stonesthrow is a 106 acre rural property in the peaceful Illinbah Valley. Nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, we are about an hour (a stones throw) from the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Over time, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses and is now a family hobby farm. We currently have three dogs, cows, horses, goats and some friendly donkeys who love to meet new people for some pats and a carrot! We offer a choice of sites- either Lower Sites close to the beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through the property or Elevated Sites with views of the valley. LOWER SITES have access to facilities- toilets, a powered shed, kettle, fridge and a sink. Most sites offer 2WD access yet still facilitate the experience of camping in the bush. These are the only sites that caravans can access. ELEVATED SITES have stunning views of the valley. These sites are only accessible by capable 4WD and require you to bring your own sealed, chemical camping toilet and ensuite tent which we sight on arrival before allowing guests access to the track. Check-in must be during daylight hours to enable safe access. Off-road camper trailers can access these sites. When submitting a booking request, select either a Lower Site or Elevated Site. Please include your vehicle make and model, camping setup (tent/swag/camper trailer), type of toilet and ensuite tent (if requesting an elevated site) and number of occupants (adults, children, dogs). Friendly dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead when in close proximity to the cottage and other campers. Please note, the availability of certain sites is weather dependant. Exclusive camping located at the meeting of Brisbane River and a permanent tributary creek. This private location offers grassy camping on an elevated river junction. Perfect spot for swimming, fishing , kayaking or just enjoying the sunset by the fire. The location is on a large body of water on the river and is home to numerous turtles, freshwater fish, eastern water dragons, eagles regularly overhead and keen spotters will see the family of platypus. - Kayaks are available for use - No toilet/shower facilities available so you will need to BYO - No power available - BYO firewood - Not suitable for boats which can't be carried as no boat ramp - Behaved dogs welcome on leash - No firearms/motorbikes permitted - 3 vehicle maximum Access: Heavy rain limits access but we are happy to help if you get stuck or cancellation needed. Vehicle's - you will be driving through 800m of undulating paddocks, SUV's no problems, low sedan's less suitable. Caravan's - the camping spot is perfect for caravan's however we would recommend a off-road caravans for best access.

Only an hour north west from Brisbane, just over half an hour north from Ipswich. We now have toilets. A semi self contained caravan is coming soon, hopefully ready by the Christmas holidays. We purchased our block as a rural escape. It's 25 acres of koala protected bush. Camping is on grassy areas amongst the trees, this is basic bush camping suited to fully self sufficient campers. Our block is completely off grid, there is no power or water. Listen to the birds, including the beautiful whip birds Look for koalas and other wildlife: quails, ducks, birds, kangaroos, deer (our property is koala protected bush. Wildlife must not be disturbed). Under a minute drive to local creek and swimming hole. A few minutes drive to Wivenhoe dam recreation area. 15-minute drive to Fernvale for supplies (and one of the famous pies from the bakery). 20 minute drive to Somerset Dam for all your water sport fun. Stop at a swimming hole or lookout on your way up to scenic Mt Glorious. We are About a 15 minute drive from Northbrook Gorge, a popular local hike.
