Formally a banana & pineapple plantation, Hunchy Hills is strictly 4WD only access property. There is a toilet and gas hot shower included. If you have a camper trailer it needs to be off-road/high clearance and you need to be experienced towing in steep and tight off road conditions. No caravans or Hybrids, too steep and tight.
Sites 1-3 are large level pads approx. 12M by 12M, each with their own fire pit and seat.
Site 4 is perched on the side of the hill and 6M by 6M in size. Suitable for vehicle based campers/swags/small tents with a sense of adventure, max 2 people. We have a backup spot if access is too difficult.

To keep the area pristine, fires must be in allocated pits. You must bring your own wood or purchase some from us in advance and we will have it ready for you on arrival.
Pets are welcome with prior approval, but they must follow property rules. Swimming is allowed only during daylight hours, and caution is advised due to natural creek conditions. Jumping or diving is prohibited.
For the safety of all guests, property access is strictly for booked individuals, and non-paying visitors are not permitted. We encourage exploration on foot, as all areas are easily accessible. Please do not drive your vehicle around the property.
As there are no on-site toilets, kindly bring your own camp toilet and ensure proper waste removal. You will find a free dump point at Eumundi RV stop over on Napier road or in Kenilworth at the Showgrounds.

The sites are level pastured camping areas with lovely trees providing good shade alongside the river. We have tried to preserve the natural ecosystem on the river bank so it is heavily wooded and largely untouched.
The total area for camping is approximately 500 metres with only four sites spaced far apart to ensure plenty of space and privacy. Each site has very easy access to the river, via a couple of tracks.
You can enjoy swimming and kayaking in the river. Fishing is welcome when permitted but must be catch and release only. There is plenty of wildlife to see, especially for bird watchers: kingfishers, parrots and birds of prey as well as platypus, air breathing lungfish and Mary River turtles.
Access is 4WD or AWD only.
In severe weather the Mary River can flood. Be prepared to leave in extreme weather.

Formally a banana & pineapple plantation, Hunchy Hills is strictly 4WD only access property. There is a toilet and gas hot shower included. For the safety of all guests, property access is strictly for booked individuals, and non-paying visitors are not permitted. We encourage exploration on foot, as all areas are easily accessible. Please do not drive your vehicle around the property.
As there are no on-site toilets, kindly bring your own camp toilet and ensure proper waste removal. You will find a free dump point at Eumundi RV stop over on Napier road or in Kenilworth at the Showgrounds.

The sites are level pastured camping areas with lovely trees providing good shade alongside the river. We have tried to preserve the natural ecosystem on the river bank so it is heavily wooded and largely untouched.
The total area for camping is approximately 500 metres with only four sites spaced far apart to ensure plenty of space and privacy. Each site has very easy access to the river, via a couple of tracks.
You can enjoy swimming and kayaking in the river. Fishing is welcome when permitted but must be catch and release only. There is plenty of wildlife to see, especially for bird watchers: kingfishers, parrots and birds of prey as well as platypus, air breathing lungfish and Mary River turtles.
Access is 4WD or AWD only.

The host was very welcoming and went above and beyond to help us get our van get into the site. Lots of lovely plants to look at and the night is soooo quiet, you’ll get a completely rested sleep.

This was a lovely and peaceful place to stay. It was very relaxing camping by the lake and super quiet too (only nature sounds). I also loved how close it was to Peregian Beach and not too far from Noosa Heads either.

It’s close to the highway - easy off and back on. Turned out to be a good spot for us. Lovely grassy area with birdlife and wildlife. Safe to leave the Van and explore (wheel lock etc of course). We had the place to ourselves but could have had more campers nearby.
The highway noise was consistent but not intrusive. Saw some massive kangaroos and a very friendly kookaburra.

We had an awesome time staying here at Luuk’s property. It was so peaceful and quiet with beautiful surrounds. The outdoor kitchen and bathroom were such a treat. It was all well maintained and we would definitely stay here again. Luuk was super friendly and welcoming

Maya Nature park is a really nice place to camp, open spaces as well as tree canopies and a damn to camp by with roaming cattle that wander by and give you a nod as well as great bird life. Lucas is a very welcoming host and the facilities are always impeccable with something new being added to the environment each time we visit. Its a favourite of ours.

Wow, what an incredible spot. The place is a credit to Ryan & his partner for how well it’s looked after.
Grass is beautiful & mowed neatly. We were there after heavy rain & had no dramas. Plenty of rain through the night.
Had a short stroll near the creek, pleasant even if too shallow for a dip.
Did the walking track up past site 5, stretched the calves 🤣 the rain had made it pretty slippery up there.
We stayed in site 2, in the shade for morning. Every site has a firepit in it & if you’ve forgotten your chair there’s log bench!
Don’t need to be self contained as there is a rustic toilet & shower too.
Although we brought our firewood I believe it’s available from them.
Almost don’t want to recommend so we can keep this place a secret!!!

We found Katrina attended to our enquires thoughtfully. We loved having the area to ourselves. It's a great spot to camp for couples. We intend visiting again and our family has responded very positively to our photos and comments about the camp area. I think they will camp there some time as well.
