There is a creek running through the property which you can explore and is a 10 minute walk from the camp site. This creek has no paths and is in its wild naturally beautiful state. You are welcome to climb to the top of the property if you are physically up for the challenge and take in breath taking views of both Mount warning up close and the surrounding area. There has been a lot of rain lately and therefore a lot of growth so the climb is through lush vegetation. Wearing appropriate clothing is necessary and the reward at the top is totally worth it. This is a private camp site with its own fire pit area. Mount warning is currently closed to the public to climb but there is plenty of creeks, a swimming hole close by and land to explore. A 10 minute drive takes you to the quaint town of Uki and 25 minutes and you're in the country town of Murwillumbah. Please Note: This is 4WD access only.

There are plenty of activities to try around town, from bushwalking, exploring the Rail Trail in Murwillumbah and downhill mountain biking at the Uki Mountain Bike Park (Less then 8Km from our property). The property is just 5km from the beautiful village of Uki. Uki is a place where community spirit hums. Village markets every Saturday selling local foods and crafts. The Old buttery offers ‘the Uki Buttery Bazaar Market’ on the 3rd Sunday of every month. Don’t forget to pop into the Uki Trading Post (Bastion Lane) for the Best coffee in Australia. The Mt Warning Hotel situated in Uki Village also offers all meals as takeaways and a complementary curtesy bus running from Friday 5PM through to Sunday. Stock up on supplies at the village General Store. Pet welcome on leash and under control. Campfires are permitted within local regulations. We do have a bathtub’s on 3 sites that can be heated with fire. Campers should leave no trace. We are a short drive from the beautiful Hell’s hole, Unicorn falls. Take a day trip to Byron Bay (50min) Brunswick Heads (40min) Mullumbimby (35min) Tyalgum (30min). 45mins from Gold Coast airport.

Camping at Crystal Creek Springs was such a peaceful experience. Leanne made the arrival process really easy, and the property is beautifully maintained. The amenities were simple but very well kept, with a clean shower and portaloo. I also loved watching the horse in the next paddock, and waking up to the neighbours’ cows and calves grazing nearby was such a lovely way to start the morning. Definitely well worth staying here if you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing camping spot. I’d happily stay again!

we absolutely loved our stay here! the campsite itself was absolutely stunning, with beautiful surroundings and a gorgeous creek that was perfect for swimming. we had multiple swims and honestly couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful spot to camp. the portaloos were also really clean and well maintained, which was a great bonus. hot shower was lovely. overall, such a beautiful place to stay and we really enjoyed our time here. would definitely come back for the location and scenery alone!

Loved our stay at The Secret Place 🌿🐾 We originally booked The Bermuda Triangle, but after the wet weather made it a little muddy we moved to The Front Pocket for our second night and absolutely loved it. Grassy, peaceful and spacious with a firepit, beautiful outlook and Christies Creek nearby. We also met Carlos the caretaker and his gorgeous puppy Max, who was super friendly 🥰🐾 Such a lovely stay and we’d happily come back again. 🤎🏕️

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We absolutely loved our stay here! The open spaces were fantastic and made the campsite feel peaceful and spacious rather than crowded. We especially loved seeing the horses — such a beautiful added touch and something that made the experience feel really special. The Wood-fired bathtubs were another highlight — such a unique and relaxing feature after a day of camping! We also really appreciated that there are only six campsites. It gives the whole place a lovely quiet, private and relaxed atmosphere without feeling overcrowded or packed in. A beautiful spot to unwind, enjoy nature and escape the hustle and bustle. We’ll definitely be back!

Springbrook National Park

Just over the state border in Queensland, north of Murwillumbah, this impressive national park is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area and houses lush ancient rainforest and impressive waterfalls. There are facilities for permitted tents and camper trailers at the Settlement Campground (think toilets and barbecues but no showers), but wild bush camping is not allowed in the park.

Lamington National Park

Northeast of Murwillumbah and beside the smaller Springbrook, Lamington National Park is also a part of the Gondwana World Heritage Area and offers many of the same features as Springbrook. There are, however, many more opportunities to camp here. The well-equipped O’Reilly’s Campground has tent and caravan sites as well as safari tents and ensuite pods, and various bush camping sites throughout the park can only be reached on foot. Bush camps are closed in December and January.

A popular coastal town just 50 kilometres southeast of Murwillumbah, Byron Bay draws campers road-tripping through northern NSW who might want to stop at both places.
