2 nights at Spring Valley Lifestyle Retreat

Julie and her family are so welcoming. They have a few site options but we loved the River Flat site at the back of the property with our 18ft offroad caravan. It was private with a lovely stream and ample bush walking options. We stayed for a few rainy nights and had the place to ourselves. The kids LOVED meeting the alpacas, llamas and chickens. It was also a wonderful option for our two new family members (little dogs) to try out the caravaning life 😊

5 nights at Spring Valley Lifestyle Retreat

This is a pleasant camping spot with lovely outlook across farming land and wooden hills with a National Park next door. We camped at the spring fed dam site and the children in our group had great fun paddling on the dam. It was safe for them to go out by themselves. They also loved feeding the Alpacas and Llama. We highly recommend this site for self-sufficient campers who want a relaxing camping spot. The riverside camping spot also looked nice and would suit the summer weather. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating without being intrusive. Highly recommend.

I couldn't recommend enough! The property is beautiful, open and serene. With animals on the farm so friendly you can pet and tracks you can walk around and explore on the mountain, the open sky at night with the stars and the incredible sunsets - it's a dream. Julie and the family are the most wonderful and kind folks. So lovely to speak with and so open and welcoming to the property and beyond accommodating and easy going. If you need somewhere for the night or a few days, this is it!

Great camping spot close to Canberra (15-20min). Plenty of space. Nice dam. Clean toilets. Lots of kangaroos! Very quiet. Highly recommended.

2 nights at Coots Creek Campground

Great spot with wineries, good food and Canberra all within 30min. The campgrounds are well shaded and there is plenty of firewood to spend those nights under the stars. We could relax because the area was fenced for the dogs but they were large enough so you don’t feel enclosed. Thank you James

Beautiful little shack in a beautiful location on the riverside. We really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the evening fire with a good wood supply provided by Phil, very considerate. Highly recommend it if you like a cosy cottage with basic provisions.

Great location and access to Goolabri events pavilion. Lovely lookout over the large north facing damn. Easy access and parking for the van. Although it is a tight turn through the gate, larger vans would need to be extra careful. Toilet facilities are great too. Only issue is there is no dump point onsite.

Lots of space, much of it pretty level. Part of an old golf course, so a fair bit of open space with some trees. Close to Canberra without being in Canberra. Easy to get in and out. Plenty of camping spots by the lovely pond with ducks and other birds. Flush toilets. Pretty quiet, although there is a bit of highway noise from the Federal Highway two or three kilometres away. The birds get pretty active in the morning, which we enjoy. We were there for a music festival at the Wedgetail Pavilion, which was a five minute walk from our spot. Very convenient. Very dry at the moment, so total fire ban in place. Fair enough.

Pine Gums is so close to everything but also feels a world away from everyone. From the time you pull in, to the time you leave, the experience at Pine Gums is peaceful, rewarding and one you will always cherish and remember. We are clearing some ground for grazing cattle while letting some regrowth come through for the wildlife. We have plenty of kangaroos, possums, wombats just to name a few and an abundance of birdlife. We have multiple options for campers. COMFORT CAMP Our comfort camp has an an undercover BBQ area with seating, a built-in fireplace and gas BBQ. There is also a proper flushing toilet and hot/cold shower, solar lighting and USB charging port. QUICK CAMPS We also have 5 Quick Camp spaces for those self-sufficient campers who want to get away from it all in a quiet neck-of-the-woods. You'll be surrounded by peace and quiet to pull up the van, pitch the tent or roll out the swag. At night, sit and listen to the sounds of silence as you glance up to the stars. This spot feels a world away but still has the convenience of being only 10 minutes off the Hume Hwy and only 20 minutes from Goulburn where you can get all your daily needs. There is plenty of firewood laying around the property for the campfire so bring your saw, cut some wood, and just enjoy. No firewood is to be taken off the property. Access is good for vans of any size along a track through the bushland. Lovely swimming spots in the Mongalowe River, beautiful clear water, and several lovely bushwalks around the property. Large open paddock with easy access from Monaro Highway, great for camping with amazing views of the mountains. The access road is dirt road. Ok for caravans. Dog friendly (must be well behaved around our animals and not chase them). We have Alpacas & Donkeys in our paddock near the camp area so your dog must be kept under control at all times (Donkeys hate dogs!). We have a composting toilet available for campers to use. Mobile phone reception in the area is around 3-4 bars 4G on Optus and 3-4 bars 3G on Telstra. There is no access to the rivers or creeks near our property in Michelago as all land along the waterways in Michelago is private property. The closest public access to the river is at Angle Crossing or Bredbo (just ask and I can give you a map) Please bring your own wood for camp fires or you can purchase a barrow of bush wood from us in the extras. We prefer you not to collect your own wood (other than starter sticks/branches) as we are trying to maintain logs, branches, ground cover on the ground for native birds, lizards, etc. All camp fees are being used to rehabilitate our property with plants that are native to our area and restore the land.

Fur babies are most welcome though please ensure your fury friend is good with other dogs as we do from time to time have other families stay with their dogs. We have public access to the lake only 2 minutes from our farm gate. There is amazing fishing with Bass and Trout in the lake as well as non motorised sports for a peaceful getaway. If doing nothing is your thing, then sit back in front of the fire, enjoy a beer or wine and just admire the views. We just know you will love staying on our little slice of paradise, one of the districts best kept secrets and views :) As of February 2025 we now have public toilets for the use of all campers and guests.
