Bernard and Susan are custodians of the farm, primarily using the land for poultry (egg), pig, and goat farming. They are transitioning to an off-grid and eco-friendly lifestyle for their retirement. If you want to avoid the crowds our property is only 10 minutes drive to great local surf and fishing beaches at Crescent Head. There is an abundance of bird life, the odd kangaroos and wallabies, and other wildlife. There is a melaleuca forest that children are welcome to play in and build a cubby house, and 2 pretty little dams to catch yabbies, and for dogs to enjoy a swim. The property where camping is provided is approx 20 acres with a limit of 10 groups so you can find your own little piece of paradise. There is plenty of fire wood for you to collect on the property on your way in. Please help yourself to any fallen timber for firewood but please do not cut any standing trees down. When checking out, ensure you properly extinguish fires and return any unused firewood to the bush. Dogs are welcome to be here off leash as long as they are well socialised and reasonably obedient. There is large areas for them to run freely and dams to swim in. It is accessible via a 2WD dirt road, even with a little wet weather. If rainfall is extreme we recommend 4wd's. The property is completely off grid so we have a 'leave it as you found it' approach. This means you will need a camp toilet, and to take all of your rubbish with you. We are a rural property so do not have rubbish collection services. (Fees apply for any left behind rubbish). Happy camping!

Enjoy a beautiful campsite near a large dam, watch the ducks, rosellas, cranes, herons and the occasional Jabiru, feed and nest in the trees. A great spot for bird watching. Pick your own spot, maybe near one of the fire braziers, but not directly under the trees if windy. No livestock on property but we have visiting kangaroos, tortoises, green frogs, and eels in the dam if you want to fish for them. Mid Coast Flying operate a private 800 metre airstrip on the property, and Trial Instructional Flights (TIFS) are available, for $150 for 45 minutes. Please speak to Ross when you arrive. You can pick your own site. Unfortunately we may have to close after torrential rain events. We are also pet friendly, however there are no bins, so please pick up after your pets in the camping area. Water is available near the hangar as you drive in.

The nearest village, Stuarts Point, is just 3 minutes down the road, with larger towns and shopping 20 to 30 minutes' drive away. The property is just 14km off the M1, with good access and plenty of open space. We limit the number of bookings we take to ensure you can find a private, spacious site to yourselves. Kid friendly.

Great campsite by the river, the site was super well kept with clean toilets and enough activities for families to come along with kids and keep them entertained. The generosity of Rick and Cheryl was outstanding. My partner and I felt safe and was greatly appreciated of the hospitality. Firewood was offered once arrived and sites were clearly marked, with supplied fire pits. Would highly recommend going as this was such a beautiful area and the river was so warm and relaxing to be next to

Beautiful flat grassy camping right next to the stunning river. Well behaved dogs welcome. Kayaks and body boards provided free. Well maintained drop toilets. Fires permitted in off ground fire pits. You can also buy wood and fresh eggs.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at Bundilla site 2 with power, it was a spacious grassy site close to toilets and river access. The river is amazing to swim and kayak in and was very refreshing and a great temperature! Kayaks are provided free of charge which is fantastic. The toilets are spotless and clean and we appreciated the herb garden which you are welcome to pick from. There are small fire pits for use at the camp site. Rick and Cheryl were both friendly and helpful and we'd love to visit again one day.

Enjoyed our stay at Bundilla, good size grassy spaces. Rick and Cheryl have done everything to make a camp here enjoyable including the cleanest long drop I have ever sat on with some quirky touches. A nice big grassy area for the kids with swings, boogie boards for the river rapids. Even picked a bit of lemongrass from the herb patch for a cuppa. I would say best suits a family get together with kids.

Really enjoyed our stay. Very quiet and pleanty of space to spread out. My son loved all the animals, kyaking and the trampoline. Great spot for fishing too. Susan made us feel so at home and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. Wish we could have extended our stay, but we needed to head home.

Weekend Trip to Windermere Farm

We had a lovely one night stay, very peaceful and beautiful property. With only 3 sites its spaced out very well and very private but we were lucky to have it all to ourselves with no other campers - but did get to share it with Annie and Peter’s gorgeous welsh horses including 2 month old Betty! Also got to meet Ned and Patrick, the working collies. Our spot on the river was magic. Even a few showers of rain didn’t dampen the mood. We highly recommend this beautiful spot, only 10mins from Hat Head. Thanks Annie and Peter!

A really beautiful part of the world. It’s quiet, next to a deep creek that runs adjacent to the river. The kids had a great time exploring the area, meeting the dogs Astro and Buddy, as well as the horses.

Weekend Trip to The Hatch Farm - Port Macquarie

I loved my very short overnight stay at Hatch Farm because there were animals everywhere to pat, feed and just have around. I really liked to see all the different birds, feeding the goats, looking at the little lambs and watching the geese waddle. But best of all was patting the friendly Border Collies who came to say hello as the walked around the farm. On arrival, I was greeted by Bernie who explained the facilities and guided me to my perfect little site very close to the amenities. The drop toilet had charm and there was hot water available from an outside tap. There were other campers but everyone kept noise under control so I had a peaceful rest. I had to leave before 6am to continue my long drive home but would love to come back to stay for a longer experience, including a paddle on the river, with all equipment readily available at the farm. After one last pat of one of the dogs that had come to see me off, I left this little slice of paradise with a smile😀.

A lovely, quiet riverside campground. Plenty of space, grassy sites and some shady trees. The river is easy to access and a great place to swim or kayak. Cheryl and Rick, the hosts are very friendly and accommodating and can provide fresh eggs. Recommend!

1 night at Windermere Farm

We had a great stay at Annie and Peter’s camping area. The location is beautiful, set right on the river with a peaceful, open outlook. The grassy area was well kept, and with only three sites, everything felt quiet and spacious. Each site is well separated, so you get plenty of privacy. It's also a great place for anyone wanting a good fishing spot by the water. Annie and Peter were lovely hosts and have thought of everything to make it an enjoyable place to stay. We'll be back!

From the friendly greeting, to the wonderfull views of the river, The Hatch is a must stay. We couldn’t recommend it more. We have been wanting to camp here for a while, but it was always booked out, we can see now why. There is so much do and so close Port Macquarie, but you wouldn’t know it as the peaceful surroundings made it feel like you could be anywhere.
