T.J Wilson We have 3 remote sites and 3 dispersed sites and the property is six kilometers from Dalgety township which is situated on the “Snowy River” NSW. We are located 30 minutes drive south east of Jindabyne and 40 minutes drive south west of Cooma. There is a flush toilet and fresh drinking water is available at our dispersed sites. Caravans can easily be filled up via garden hose and if you are staying on one of the remote sites this can be done easily prior to settling in. We have a mowed loop track giving easy access from each site to stroll to the top of the hill, walk the dog or enjoy the 360 degree views. Take a picnic in the evening or just a glass of wine and watch the sunset from the top of the hill. After dark, relax and toast some marshmallows over the fire pit and discuss what you are going to do the next day. The land was originally once a part of "Marranumbla Homestead". I have called it home since 1995 and now share it with my partner Phillip, our son, Danish the Whippet, Murphy the Malshi, Myonie the Moodle and Finley the cat. The house yard only had 2 trees when I bought it and the house built originally in 1980 still needed completing on the inside. I have worked hard to create an extensive garden in a sometimes harsh environment. It's our peaceful part of the "Snowy Monaro", the property being 155 acres in total. A great place to wander and breath in the fresh air. In Dalgety township you can have a meal and catch up with a local at the "Buckley's Crossing Hotel" or take a walk around the show ground, town and along the river reserve where you can have a swim and relax on the riverbank and view the historic Dalgety Bridge circa 1888 across the Snowy River. Then come back in the evening to look for platypus when they come out to play. Visit the local 'Snowy Vineyard and Microbrewery' incorporating the 'Dalgety Brewing Company' situated approximately 10km north of the town on the Snowy River or have lunch at 'Tuscany in Dalgety' 2km to the west of town. Take a trip to Jindabyne which is half an hours drive to the west, walk round the lake, visit the 'Jindabyne Brewery', great food, beer, cider and wine or the many other restaurants and cafes in town. Spend some time at the 'Snowy Region Visitor Centre' and the 'Gaden Trout Hatchery' or catch your own trout in the lake or at the 'Eucumbene Trout Farm'. Travel beyond into the mountains and Kosciusko National Park to Thredbo, Perisher Valley and Charlottes Pass. Explore the many walks in the national park including the walk to the top of Mt Kosciusko. Visit the 'Wild Brumby Distillery' enjoy some European fare and locally crafted Schnapps, Gin, Vodka or Gluhwein. Take a day trip through Adaminaby to 'Yarrangobilly Caves and Thermal Pool' in the northern end of Kosciusko National Park, picnic, swim and tour the caves. The Centre houses a comprehensive exhibition hall including an extensive photographic collection, models, hands-on exhibits and a one of a kind immersive theatre. Misty Mountain Wildlife Refuge is a 330 acre farm which provides sanctuary to kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, echidnas and many bird species including their habitats. There are Alpacas and Sheep, Kangaroos, Wombats, Kookaburras, Echidnas and many other animals that enjoy this property. The land has 80 acres of cleared grassland this side of the river, and for the adventurous and energetic you can rome the other 250 acres by crossing to the other side of the rive, there are large stands of rainforest and bushland, with 2.5 km of Brown Mountain Creek and its tributary meandering through it. There are some swimming holes and mini rapids; the crystal clear water flowing over the river rocks can be heard from most parts of the farm. The land comprises Little Brown Mountain and has 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains and farmland with wonderful cloud formations and mists contributing their mystery and beauty to the dramatic landscape. There is an orchard with trees producing several varieties of apple, stone fruit and citrus in abundance. A cottage garden produces various vegetables and herbs such as spinach, celery, potatoes, garlic, chives, lettuce, rocket, parsley, turmeric, peas, beans, tomato etc. Past bushfire damage to some trees in the cleared paddocks is evident however, many are recovering well and most provide photographers with interesting and dramatic subject matter. Due to the catastrophic events of the NSW bush fires in this area all camp fires must be kept responsibly safe and no unsafe camp fires will be tolerated. All Guests are required to have an acceptable camp toilet, no holes in the ground. All river access points are shared, be mindful of others. As dogs are welcome and even well behaved dogs will be dogs when it comes to their family, all guests are advised to make themselves known prior to going near another's camp site, then there is no surprises either way. After heavy rain you may need to boil/filter for drinking. You will need a 4WD to access the campsites closest to the river as there is a shallow gully crossing. Camper trailer or off road pop up campers will be able to negoiate the tracks. Good clearance necessary to pass over one gully crossing. Dogs are welcome, however, we do run sheep in an adjoining paddock so they need to stay close to your camp. Kids aged 16 and under camp for free. There is a dedicated campfire pit so you can stay warm on chilly evenings (please check to see if there is a seasonal fire ban in place). Fire wood can be provided - chainsaws are permitted but be mindful of structures that are animal habitats. Your family may enjoy taking a bushwalk that takes you around the 300 acre native bush paddock. Climb up and get a birds eye view down into a gully of magnificent granite boulders above where the river disappears deep below. Identify the unique sounds of the native birds and follow the tracks wildlife create. We are centrally located - just 1.5 hours from the snowfields and from the best beaches of the NSW coastline. There is a small general store, 2 takeaway cafes and a pub at Nimmitabel, or you can get all supplies in Cooma 25 mins away. There are horses you can pat and a few sheep that are very friendly and love to be given bread. The historic Bega Cheese Factory and Heritage Center is just a couple of minutes away. The main shopping center and mall in town is just a five-minute drive. On our property, we can offer you a relaxing quiet stay in a secure area. Based near Mount Utopia, Nerrigundah, we fell in love with our little sanctuary in 2020. There are two families Dwayne, Michelle, Robbie and Sharon and their four boys Blake, Taeg, Cooper and Flynn. Campers at heart, we started spending nearly every second weekend in our campers and this lead to many a night discussing what else we could do to make this property a place for others to use. It is a work in progress and there is plenty more to come, currently there is a ablution block that is up near the old house site, we decided it was best to have the camp area closer to the river. We have since added a camp kitchen, large undercover area and two cabins (for our own use at this stage). Enjoy direct access to the river plus more swimming areas on the property. Campfires are permitted. There is some firewood on the property but probably best to bring some of your own. There is Telstra service enabling mobile coverage if needed especially for emergencies. There is also Starlink internet for your convenience. 4WDs are recommended to access this campsite. During the rain we recommend 4WD only. In dry you can access with an all wheel drive. Please message us if you're unsure about weather conditions and your vehicle. Our little piece of Utopia is still a work in progress but is picturesque as well as peaceful. This is a working farm approx 70% cleared remainder bush. Sub Alpine so the temperature can change quickly and snow, the area has quite a verity of bird and animals. There are currently 5 paddocks available no set campsites you pick your own site near mountain stream or in the bush also available is a self-contained cottage (view our separate listing for Calabash Manager's Cottage). This has 4 bedrooms bathroom, 3 rooms have queen size and 1 has a single, kitchen, heating when required is a slow combustion wood stove very relaxing. There are no amenities for campers, please BYO and leave no trace. There is plenty of branches and wood on the ground for a fire but please no fires when fire bans in place. Dogs are OK but as we are a sheep property they must be well controlled and on a leash and not left to roam. We prefer smaller dogs. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place. Really loved the relaxed spot! Was clean, great scenery and only 5 bookings allowed at a time which really made the place stand out as everyone had there privacy. Jackie was lovely and came over for a chat and offered to show us a secret swimming spot but after a long day travelling and early morning rise we declined, will have to come back again to see it!

What a ripper HipCamp. The views are amazing and you have the whole campsite to yourself. Great fire set up with log benches either side. A composting toilet if you need. The drive in is down a steep track. You want high clearance. We have a 19ft off road caravan with a 4WD and had no troubles getting in. There is a beautiful , but steep 1km walking track down to the Murrumbidgee River. The hosts were lovely. We have stayed at a lot of HipCamps, this would be 1 of our favourites. We book for 1 night, stayed for 2 and will be back.

What a great place they have made, alot of thought & hard work has gone into this camping spot. Having showers & toilets was great. We realy loved the area. Great beach, crystal clear water. Very peaceful. You can do as much as you like or as little as you like. We only had 1 visit from Mr Goanna ( that we saw) but he just toddled along & was fine. Mr Red Belly Black Snake just slithered along up in the bush by the side of the track, we just kept still & he slithered away so all good. Obviously when you are camping in the bush you have to expect & respect the bush animals. The only thing is the Drive in, we drove in when it had rained the Mountain was covered in Mist & Fog so it was very Daunting on the dirt/sandy Mountain road, definantly 4 Wheel drive road especially towing a caravan. It is a beautiful spot and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Sharon has updated the information to include instructions for resetting the amenities block pump if it plays up (first stay this happened with no solution). Can highly recommend this camp, amenities are unreal and the location just tops it off. Makes for a nice trip from Canberra via Badja Forest Road > Falcon road.

This spot is a peaceful little gem overlooking a lovely valley. The campsite is flat, tidy, and easy to access in a 2WD — even a caravan would manage fine. There’s plenty of wood for the fire and space to unwind. The two tiny homes on the property look beautiful, each with its own fire pit and big chairs perfect for watching the sunset. The river isn’t right beside camp but close enough for a pleasant wander — proper shoes are best, as the track is a little hilly. I even spotted deer grazing near the water. A calm, well-kept, nature-filled stay.

Amazing private retreat with lovely elevated views and surrounded by a beautiful landscape. We had a resident bunny, a joey and mum for company in the day, a possum up in the trees at night. We were well settled down in our campervan with access to a power and water point. Hugely grateful to our wonderful host, Kelly who was super helpful with great tips on stops on our journey down and visits at Jindabyne. Thanks to her, I got my first snow experience at Charlotte Pass. Thanks Kelly, for hosting us. We certainly will be back!
