What an adventure! Anna took such wonderful care of us as a responsive, supportive and warm host. The 1400 site has so much to offer - stunning views of the surrounding ranges, bushwalking, wildlife, and gorgeous views of the night sky. We look forward to visiting again soon 😊🌌✨️

Fabulous place. We stayed one night and we really enjoyed it. The views are great and the camping space has some good spots for rooftop tents. I would say three to four cars max. Anna and Andrew were very hospitable and flexible. Thank you so much.

A memorable experience

From the moment we arrived, this glamping experience felt absolutely magical. The environment was exceptional — peaceful, beautifully designed, and perfectly immersed in nature while still offering every comfort you could want. The bed was unbelievably soft and cosy, making it one of the best nights of sleep we’ve had in ages. One of the highlights was the beautiful fireplace, which created the perfect cosy atmosphere in the evenings. Having plenty of firewood provided made it so easy to relax, unwind, and enjoy the warmth while taking in the stunning surroundings. The cooking and cleaning facilities were also fantastic — thoughtfully set up, spotless, and equipped with everything needed to make the stay comfortable and effortless. The sunsets were breathtaking, painting the sky with incredible colours each evening, and once night fell, the experience became even more special. Sitting outside under a blanket, watching the endless stars and the clear night sky, truly felt like escaping into another world. A very special thank you to Anna and her husband for being such kind, welcoming, and dedicated hosts. Their attention to detail and genuine care made the experience feel incredibly personal and memorable. If you’re looking for a unique getaway that feels both indulgent and unforgettable, this place is an absolute gem. We already can’t wait to come back.

My dog and I had a wonderful time on Anna's property at Tin Can Ridge. The Civilization campsite was beautiful with a large firepit and well set up with plenty of wood. Lovely and quiet amongst nature with great walking tracks and beautiful scenery and views of Tallaganda and the Brindabellas .I would highly recommend to anyone to stay overnight or a few days. Anna was so friendly and inviting and made us feel very welcome. Close to the village of Michelago, Bredbo with their bakery and pub . Will definitely be returning.

End of Year getaway!

It has been an absolutely amazing experience. I stayed up all night just gazing at the stars and just felt very safe. And during the day is when I catched some zzz's thanks to the hammock. Everything I needed was there. Anna and Andrew have been very gracious and accomodating, giving me a ride to the camp from their homestead, and back. I will 100% come back.

Really fantastic night up at Tin Can ridge. Anna and her family are lovely hosts. There was nobody else staying this weekend so I got to pick where I wanted to set up camp. I had booked 1400 but decided to set up a little bit further down the hill in a lovely little spot. The weather may have been a bit crazy but it was a wonderful night. Nice little getaway. Super keen to come back again and explore more.

Secluded heaven

We loved staying at Anna’s place, she was great with communications and the directions were clear to arriving, then her and her family showed us wonderful hospitality from the get go, we asked for more fire wood for night two and it was delivered in no time. The tent itself is beautiful inside with lots of little bits and pieces and details that have been well thought out (etc extra lights and batteries and playing cards). The bed is super comfy and there are extra blankets if needed. We experienced high winds on the second night but the glamp tent kept us cosy and warm with no issues. The fire pit area was a great communal space again with so many bits and pieces that were helpful. These included utensils, cleaning items, spray oil, some cutlery and crockery and loads of water. The toilet again showed signs of being well thought out, a simple portable toilet set up away from the tent but accompanied by a bucket with cleaning wipes, toilet paper and hand sanitisers. The views were fantastic and the spot is secluded, we saw or heard no one else our whole stay and that’s exactly what we wanted. You could go exploring or collapse in the hammock with a book. We can’t recommend it here enough and will be back for sure. Thanks guys!

Great getaway!

Quick camping getaway to Tin Can Ridge (Hipcamp) 🌄 , 1 hour south of Canberra 🏙️ in the Tinderry Range ... What an amazing place! The hosts were incredible! greeting me on arrival with a map and showing me through the property on the best route suitable for my vehicle. They helped me find the best locations for my setup and were very generous with the firewood 🪵 I purchased from them for just $20 and delivered it to my site...(See picture) I stayed in the valley at the back of the property in total seclusion aptly named "nowhere". Plenty of wildlife out and about including native birds, kangaroos , wallabies and deer. 🦘🐦🦌 Being only my second hipcamp I cannot recommend this location and the host family enough! I was using this as a test run for my new setup so I didn't get a chance for too much photography but the clear skies and beautiful weather ☀️ made for an amazing time away from the hustle and bustle. I will be back to try another of their campsites "1400" If you stay at Tin Can Ridge I highly recommend purchasing the firewood too , it makes the first night so much easier! I can't wait to get back out there! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars out of 5

Tin Can Ridge 1400 a great way to start off with HIPCAMP. Even though it was overcast, the horizon sky cleared for a beautiful sunset. Looking forward to coming back to enjoy the stars. Anna and Andrew are the perfect hosts. Did use the 4WD to get to the site. Great views from up on the hill to Snowy Mountains. Worth buying the firewood and enjoyed the campfire to keep away the winter chills. Perfect location for a quick Canberra getaway without too much of a drive to enjoy the outdoors.

Real bush experience

Such a great property to get away from the world. It feels like you're out in the middle of nowhere but still only an hour or so from Canberra. Even the drive out is brilliant! There is a range of different options from clamping to totally bush camping so something for everyone. Anna was super friendly as were the rest of her clan. Great spot, thoroughly recommend it ✌🏻

This is the second time we’ve come to anna’s property and we absolutely love it. Her and her family are absolutely amazing, we ran out of wood the last time and they didn’t hesitate to bring more up for us! They left us extra wood as they knew it would be cold. The place itself is absolutely amazing, the most beautiful views and extremely peaceful. would 100% recommend

We loved the glamping experience at Tin Can Ridge. It snowed while we were here, so it was lovely to wake up to the beautiful winter wonderland and to explore the nearby trails. One thing we were unprepared for on the cold weather was the camping toilet - the flushing liquid froze due to the frosty temps. It's a simple set up but otherwise a great place to visit.

Peaceful

If you are looking for peace and quiet then this is the place! The views on top of the hill were lovely and watching the stars at night was amazing, the sky was so clear. Lots of walks to do around the place as well. The tent is nice and cosy, the bed is extremely comfortable, with extra blankets if needed. Nice firepit - with plenty of firewood, which was replenished for our second night. Webber bbq to use as well. Lots of little thoughtful things around(tin foil, UNO) which made a nice touch. Anna and Andrew are lovely and welcoming. Would recommend if you are looking for a relaxing weekend away.

Relaxing Stay on the Tinders

Lovely spot in the Tinders.. Anna and Andrew the hosts were fantastic. We stayed at the 1400 site but on arrival used a different sport around the corner. Flat ground as a little hard to find for a ground tent being a mountainous region but had an amazing fire pit and there were no other campers close by which is ideal. Anna and Andrew and even took us up to a scenic rocky viewing spot on a neighboring property. All in all, a very relaxing Easter long weekend. As a bonus there were lots of wallabies, lyrebirds and we also spotted some deer.

Very tranquil and private spot in the middle of a beautiful forest. The host were very welcoming and guided us to the site and provided a map for us to explore the property. We had a small 4wd and was able to drive to the site without any problem. The site is grassy and sheltered with trees around. Not much flat ground but we managed to position out car in a spot that’s level. Overall a very nice stay and highly recommend for those looking for a quiet getaway.

Staying at Tim Can Ridge in the glamping tent, has been one of the best experiences we’ve had by far! Anna is really accomodating and ensures that you feel welcome and makes sure that you have the best experience whilst staying ! The area is clean, well looked after and they have beautiful land! Serene Camping Bliss

I set up my camp and watched the clouds drift gracefully above the distant fields—a truly sensational moment. This camping area is well-maintained with a flat, hardened surface, offering plenty of space for my setup. Surrounded by trees, it provides excellent shelter from the wind and feels completely private, as if it’s just you and nature. One added perk is the reliable phone reception, handy if you need to stay connected for anything from your daily routine. The road leading to this site is an enjoyable drive, adding to the adventure. Plus, Anna, the host, is incredibly friendly and always ready to answer any questions you may have. I’ll definitely be back very soon!
