Based near Mount Utopia, Nerrigundah, we fell in love with our little sanctuary in 2020. There are two families Dwayne, Michelle, Robbie and Sharon and their four boys Blake, Taeg, Cooper and Flynn. Campers at heart, we started spending nearly every second weekend in our campers and this lead to many a night discussing what else we could do to make this property a place for others to use. It is a work in progress and there is plenty more to come, currently there is a ablution block that is up near the old house site, we decided it was best to have the camp area closer to the river. We have since added a camp kitchen, large undercover area and two cabins (for our own use at this stage). Enjoy direct access to the river plus more swimming areas on the property. Campfires are permitted. There is some firewood on the property but probably best to bring some of your own. There is Telstra service enabling mobile coverage if needed especially for emergencies. 4WDs are recommended to access this campsite. During the rain we recommend 4WD only. In dry you can access with an all wheel drive. Please message us if you're unsure about weather conditions and your vehicle. Our little piece of Utopia is still a work in progress but is picturesque as well as peaceful. Your furry family member is welcome to join you. We hope you enjoy our little Utopia.

T.J Wilson We have 3 remote sites and 3 dispersed sites and the property is six kilometers from Dalgety township which is situated on the “Snowy River” NSW. We are located 30 minutes drive south east of Jindabyne and 40 minutes drive south west of Cooma. There is a flush toilet and fresh drinking water is available at our dispersed sites. Caravans can easily be filled up via garden hose and if you are staying on one of the remote sites this can be done easily prior to settling in. We have a mowed loop track giving easy access from each site to stroll to the top of the hill, walk the dog or enjoy the 360 degree views. Take a picnic in the evening or just a glass of wine and watch the sunset from the top of the hill. After dark, relax and toast some marshmallows over the fire pit and discuss what you are going to do the next day. The land was originally once a part of "Marranumbla Homestead". I have called it home since 1995 and now share it with my partner Phillip, our son, Danish the Whippet, Murphy the Malshi, Myonie the Moodle and Finley the cat. The house yard only had 2 trees when I bought it and the house built originally in 1980 still needed completing on the inside. I have worked hard to create an extensive garden in a sometimes harsh environment. It's our peaceful part of the "Snowy Monaro", the property being 155 acres in total. A great place to wander and breath in the fresh air. In Dalgety township you can have a meal and catch up with a local at the "Buckley's Crossing Hotel" or take a walk around the show ground, town and along the river reserve where you can have a swim and relax on the riverbank and view the historic Dalgety Bridge circa 1888 across the Snowy River. Then come back in the evening to look for platypus when they come out to play. Visit the local 'Snowy Vineyard and Microbrewery' incorporating the 'Dalgety Brewing Company' situated approximately 10km north of the town on the Snowy River or have lunch at 'Tuscany in Dalgety' 2km to the west of town. Take a trip to Jindabyne which is half an hours drive to the west, walk round the lake, visit the 'Jindabyne Brewery', great food, beer, cider and wine or the many other restaurants and cafes in town. Spend some time at the 'Snowy Region Visitor Centre' and the 'Gaden Trout Hatchery' or catch your own trout in the lake or at the 'Eucumbene Trout Farm'. Travel beyond into the mountains and Kosciusko National Park to Thredbo, Perisher Valley and Charlottes Pass. Explore the many walks in the national park including the walk to the top of Mt Kosciusko. Visit the 'Wild Brumby Distillery' enjoy some European fare and locally crafted Schnapps, Gin, Vodka or Gluhwein. Take a day trip through Adaminaby to 'Yarrangobilly Caves and Thermal Pool' in the northern end of Kosciusko National Park, picnic, swim and tour the caves. Visit the "Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre and Café in Cooma and learn the history of the scheme. The Centre houses a comprehensive exhibition hall including an extensive photographic collection, models, hands-on exhibits and a one of a kind immersive theatre. You will find information about the Scheme such as engineering, the environment, the National Electricity Market, history, water management and power generation. Make it your base camp while enjoying all that the winter season has to offer and lets not forget the skiing and snow boarding of course. Well that's just a sample of some of the things you can do but if all that sounds like too much, just put your feet up and have a rest at your campsite!! P.S. The annual Dalgety Show is held on the first Sunday in March every year and did you know that Dalgety was one of the sites considered for our country's capital. It is about 90 minutes from Canberra, just over an hour from Thredbo and Perisher and Mt Selwyn snowfields and 1.5 hours from all the beautiful beaches that the South Coast has to offer. A short drive of under 7 minutes takes you to the Murrumbidgee River on a sealed council road. There is a flat grassed picnic area and council gas run b-bques under cover. You may find internet and mobile not fully covered here. I have a mobile that I use which works well depending where I stand. Now has 3 adjacent camp sites available. If not booked by others its a quiet spot amongst a bush setting. also offers an RV site. You can relax around your firepit and enjoy watching the beautiful wildlife that come to visit the property including Kangaroos, Wombats and a variety of native birds. The host runs a Day Spa from her home so you may like to treat yourself to some self care. Please check with host as to availability of Spa Treatments. Why not check out our outdoor clawfoot bath during your stay. It's an amazing experience under the stars! Tank water is available but please use sparingly. The surrounding region is hugely popular for cyclists and bushwalkers with many great tracks available to explore. Mt Gladstone now has a popular track and Iread there are plans for a big upgrade. There is a lookout at the top and can recommend Miss Heides Austrian Restaurent. Amazing authentic home cooked bavarian meals in a rustic log cabin with a fireplace. The Murrumbidgee River is just about 4 klms away, where you can enjoy a picnic along it's banks and take a dip if it's warm enough. We prefer campers who are fully self contained. Campers must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. There is an outside basic toilet that is a compost type with sawdust and is cleaned regularly. No pets please as we have a wildlife corridor here. * I am considering quiet well behaved pets for campers but not in the bush hut. Will verify soon*.

After heavy rain you may need to boil/filter for drinking. You will need a 4WD to access the campsites closest to the river as there is a shallow gully crossing. Camper trailer or off road pop up campers will be able to negoiate the tracks. Good clearance necessary to pass over one gully crossing. Dogs are welcome, however, we do run sheep in an adjoining paddock so they need to stay close to your camp. Kids aged 16 and under camp for free. There is a dedicated campfire pit so you can stay warm on chilly evenings (please check to see if there is a seasonal fire ban in place). Fire wood can be provided - chainsaws are permitted but be mindful of structures that are animal habitats. Your family may enjoy taking a bushwalk that takes you around the 300 acre native bush paddock. Climb up and get a birds eye view down into a gully of magnificent granite boulders above where the river disappears deep below. Identify the unique sounds of the native birds and follow the tracks wildlife create. We are centrally located - just 1.5 hours from the snowfields and from the best beaches of the NSW coastline. There is a small general store, 2 takeaway cafes and a pub at Nimmitabel, or you can get all supplies in Cooma 25 mins away. Please note that we have very limited reception service for mobiles, so let's communicate via messages before you arrive in our area. I can provide a camping setup if you need extra bedding or you don't have any camping equipment or tent.

Big skies and dark nights for star-gazing are likely; or perhaps you'll be nestled in cloud; or hidden by falling snow. There are numerous tracks with spectacular views around the property for bush walking or mountain bike riding. The tracks are surrounded by sub-alpine flora and fauna (such as wallaby's, wombats, lyrebirds) and nearby in the Tinderry Nature Reserve. Tinderry Range is a rugged range east of the Monaro highway accessed mostly through Michelago or an hour and a half from Braidwood (when dirt roads are reasonable). The range is only around 70km away from the coast, thus enabling a sea mist to often roll over us in the late afternoon. Summer temperatures are a pleasant 6 degrees or so cooler than nearby Canberra. You may choose between a number of options for camping depending on your camping desires and set up. There are numerous tracks around our property or nearby Tinderry Nature Reserve. You may go exploring to find the springs or choose to stick to easy walking tracks that follow the contours. We will provide a map. Tracks are also great for mountain bike riding and exploring the unusual mix of sub-alpine, montane and coastal flora and fauna. There is numerous species of bird life and regular calls from lyre birds. This area has fascinating history with the largest eucalyptus distillery in Australia until the late 1950's and very popular with a number of bushrangers such as the Clarke Brothers who had numerous hideouts. No amenities. BYO camping toilet and leave no trace. Campfires (except on fire ban days or when we advise otherwise) are okay--usually recommended. Normally dry firewood is easy to find, or purchase some from us if you prefer. The exception is the bell tent glamping option,' Tin Can Ridge Glamping' which has a toilet included as well as firewood and shortly its own wood stove! Some campsites are best accessed by 4WD, or on foot. or gain access to the glamping tent with us escorting you. Camp lightly. No hunting. Do nothing illegal. Take all waste with you. Respect the land, the wildlife and people. Keep the peace. Enjoy.

Absolutely stunning. This place is a must do if in the area. Located close to Bega makes seeing the town very easy. We had the luck of being the only ones here during our 3 nights and would happily have stayed longer. The camp is located all by itself on the property making it feel truly secluded, with an amazing outlook over the property. Weekend Trip to Abbeybrae

My mates and I had a wonderful time at Abbeyrae. It was a beautiful spot nestled up against the National park. Tons of Roos just over the fence. Lynton was a fantastic host, when he found out we were riding in on adventure bikes, he even did some shopping for us and kept it cool in the fridge so we would have some cold beers when we rode in. Couldn't recommend it more highly.

Amazing private retreat with lovely elevated views and surrounded by a beautiful landscape. We had a resident bunny, a joey and mum for company in the day, a possum up in the trees at night. We were well settled down in our campervan with access to a power and water point. Hugely grateful to our wonderful host, Kelly who was super helpful with great tips on stops on our journey down and visits at Jindabyne. Thanks to her, I got my first snow experience at Charlotte Pass. Thanks Kelly, for hosting us. We certainly will be back!

Weekend Trip to High Country Camping

Great spot for a variety of campers, caters to those that want a huge big grassy area or others that want a quiet secluded bush camp to themselves. We noticed how absolutely absent of road or aircraft noise, or any man-made noise really. Our camper trailer got through the bush tracks easily and we found a nice sheltered spot from the high winds (big rigs would'nt make one of the sharper bush track turns due to a tree). Huge rigs of any size could find numerous places in the main clearing around the dam/shed which would be perfect for large groups. Incredible amount of easy to grab firewood sets this place apart. Flushing toilet another bonus. We got nice and close to an Echidna too.

Tuross River Camping Nerrigundah is exceptional! We had such a magical time here: incredible setting with lots to explore at the river with lots of fun fresh water swimming, and lush starry nights. The covered area was fantastic for staying cool when needed, the teenagers loved the pool table and playing darts, we were entertained by regular visits from curious goannas, showers and flushing toilets are simply a bonus. We're definitely coming back! Thanks Sharon :)

Had a great holiday with the family and dogs at Nerrigundah Tuross River Camping. Beautiful camping spot close to the river with excellent facilities. We towed a 16ft off road caravan into the camp ground. The road into the property is quite steep and recommend a vehicle with good clearance that can manage a 4x4 track. Would recommend to any couple or family that love an adventure and a beautiful Australian bush camping spot.
