For an experience like no other, check out South Dakota’s Wind Cave National Park. We’re not kidding... it's a seriously epic destination. Explore the dense maze of passages—full of rare boxwork and frostwork formations—that’s hidden below a grassy prairie full of bison, elk, and prairie dogs. Not only is Wind Cave home to some spectacular cave formations, but it's also one of the longest cave networks in the world, making a visit essential. The park is actually a wildlife sanctuary, so the possibility of seeing some of the fascinating creatures that call Wind Cave National Park their home is pretty darn high. If you’re feeling a bit adventurous, the park offers tours throughout the day so that you have a chance to explore this totally unique cave. As one of the oldest national parks in the USA, Wind Cave is also a big part of our national park heritage. We don't know about you, but Wind Cave National Park is hands down on our list!
