Fact: Raystown Lake is the largest lake in Pennsylvania, twisting its way across 27 miles for a total of 8,300 acres. Fact: Not a single spot on this lake isn’t scenic, so you better come prepared with your camera in hand (tip: take a panorama for the full effect). Fact: You will never be bored when you visit. You know how fish swim in “schools?” Well, there are whole universities of fish in here. You could try swimming the distance of the lake, but unless your name is Michael Phelps, touring around on a boat is a much better idea. And when you’ve had your fill of the lake, you can just turn around and starting hiking away from it on countless trails through beautiful forests. Fact: You will want to stay longer than a day. Good thing there is plenty of top notch camping right in the center of it all. One final fact: this overview does not even come close to doing this amazing place justice, so get out there and see it for yourself!
