Lake,-woods HideAway @Bull Frog Bay

1 site ¡ RV, Tent5 acres ¡ Bandon, OR
My grandmother bought this property in the 1920’s as a place for her husband, the country doctor, to have an escape form the 14/7 style of medicine then. My mother spent summers here, myself and my 3 children as well. In the late 90’s the property was divided between my sister and I. I got a heavily forested piece and in 2006-9 put in road, well, electricity and built my lake front home. I did most of the work myself, used many energy efficient components and used wood from the land where I could. The Hipcamp site is the site of a former tool shed, just a bit back from the lake and nestled in wooded surroundings.  A secluded site among towering fir trees, just steps from a fresh water lake. There is swimming and fishing from my dock and float. You might enjoy using my kayaks ( two included with nightly booking) to explore the lake especially at sunset and early morning before the wind picks up.  You are the only campers here.  You can hike the BLM Lost Lake trail, ride bikes on wooded nearby roads, drive minutes to several ocean beaches State waysides with paths to the beach and bathrooms.  Bullards State Park, minutes to beautiful Bandon-By-the -Sea. In town are lots of options : horseback riding , twice a month sand labyrinths, famous golf courses, restaurants and deep sea fishing. Try crabbing on the town dock or visit our award winning creamery making cheese every morning and featuring huge ice cream cones.  Please note as this is my home, I require that all guests over age 5 be Covid vaccinated and have had their booster. Please do not request a booking if you are not vaccinated .

Charelston - Space Bell

24 sites ¡ Lodging, RVs, Tents40 acres ¡ Coos Bay, OR
The intention behind naming this land The Cloud, is in honor of the atmospheric connection to land that is provided here. The Cloud, is currently in the process of becoming a retreat and eco village for guest to come experience. While still curating the space, the land is being brought together with a passion for saving trees and their priceless ecological function. The large Spruce trees that cover the land, stand with strong branches covered with magnificent green needles. These needles collect water vapor from the air, offering water droplets onto the ground. This process has provided a vibrant natural habitat. The Cloud is an intentional space, where those on the land are invited to become mindful, and connect not only with the land, but with themselves.

11 Mile River Camp

2 sites ¡ RVs, Tents10 acres ¡ Umpqua, OR
Welcome to the river! This beautiful 10 acre property is located on the scenic main Umpqua River. Enjoy excellent, year-round fishing, kayaking, and swimming right from your private and secluded campsite. Our property is located between 2 boat ramps which makes kayak, canoe, or raft floats a breeze. The property features beautiful, mature trees, fun bedrock to explore, and an amazing swimming hole (in the summertime when the river level is low enough). Sit at the river’s edge and enjoy the sounds of the water. Be sure to watch for soaring Eagles, jumping fish, and the occasional mink on the opposite river's edge! There are multiple wineries nearby and lots of hiking trails within a short drive. There is no cell service at the property - please plan ahead and check local burn ban policies before you go. The "owners area" camping spot is a large, graveled, gated area that has trees between the road and parking. There is a port-a-potty for use in the summer months. There is also a fire pit on the lower level overlooking the river, a hidden tree swing, and deck with picnic table. The "site 1" camping spot has a driveway that is hard-packed grass and is not gated. There is a small fire pit on the path by the river. There are areas under the trees both up top near the road and down near the path that are suitable for tents. PLEASE NOTE: This is not a fully manicured campground. There are bushes and grasses that grow year round. We do our best to keep things trimmed and accessible. Sometimes (especially in the spring) things grow more quickly than we can get to them. Please don't expect this to be a perfectly mowed, backyard-type site.

Camping near Bandon guide

Overview

Situated just south of where the Coquille River meets the Southern Oregon Coast, Bandon is celebrated in equal measure for its beaches, food, and ample opportunities to explore the outdoors. While dubbed the cranberry capital of Oregon, Bandon’s big draw is its seafood, and there are plenty of spots in and around town to dine on fresh fish, crab, and oysters. The snug city is also a great jumping-off point for the wildlife-rich Bandon State Natural Area and the Coquille River Lighthouse at Bullards Beach State Park.

Where to go

South Coast

Bandon is smack in the middle of the South Coast, arguably the prettiest stretch of the Oregon Coast. Here you'll find massive sand dunes, viewpoints, and lots of opportunities for crabbing.

Coquille River

Stretching for 36 miles inland from Bandon, the Coquille River is best known for clamming and crabbing. It’s also a great area for wildlife viewing, particularly at the Bandon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge, just outside of town.

Encompassing a large swathe of coastal southern Oregon and Northern California, this coniferous woodland offers miles of hiking, boating, and wildlife-viewing opportunities.

When to go

Bandon is a year-round destination, though the weather is most favorable from June through September. The biggest annual event in town is the Cranberry Festival, which takes place just after Labor Day and honors area cranberry farming with all kinds of entertainment, including a cranberry-eating contest. Winter festivities include an annual tree-lighting ceremony and a Holiday Light Parade, while the Bandon Crab Festival—held in February—celebrates crabbing with live entertainment and a sumptuous crab dinner.
