For New Yorkers craving fresh air and a hefty dose of nature, a camping trip to Hudson Valley is always a good idea. Grab a car or hop on a train to explore the ever-beautiful Hudson Valley's hiking trails, campsites, waterways, farms, and parks. Because of the valley’s position on either side of the Hudson River, the area offers a ton of hikes with beautiful lookouts where you can gaze down upon picturesque Hudson River views. These are especially breathtaking in the fall when the valley bursts into a sea of color. Breakneck Ridge, Anthony’s Nose, Mount Beacon, and Bear Mountain are popular, and the list goes on. Pitch your tent beneath the trees at Clarence Fahnestock State Park, Harriman State Park, Woodstock, Minnewaska State Park, or in the backcountry. For a bit of an adventure, try Malouf’s Mountain Sunset Campground, where you’ll hike-in to your site on trails ranging from 30-minutes to seven hours. One of the best perks of this spot is that it's completely accessible by train and good pair of hiking boots. Follow it all up with a nourishing meal in one of the area’s many delicious farm-to-table restaurants.
