Hither Hills may be the most aptly named park around. With so many sweet amenities—sandy ocean beach, "walking dunes," and a variety of woodlands including Russian olive, oak, shad and pine trees. There are also a variety of hiking, biking, and bridle trails. Not one for bumping around? Check out the nature preserve area. Sit back and bask in the presence of osprey, short-eared owls, northern harriers, and other state endangered/federal threatened birds. Still not enough? How about the children's theater, family movies, folk and line dancing, or magic shows throughout the summer. With campsites all near the bathing beach and many of them on the water, this park is truly saying, "Come Hither!" Luckily with campsites to pitch a tent, you should have no problem answering that call.
