Ever wondered where Sacajawea was kidnapped as a child? Ponder no more, because Missouri Headwaters is the historic spot. Lewis and Clark made camp here in 1805, though we think the amenities are a little better developed at this point. Soak in the beauty of 532 acres made of winding rivers and brambly rock outcroppings. The area used to be a boon for fishers and trappers, and we can't say much has changed. Cast a line and catch some of the bountiful fish at the riverside, or do up your trip in a canoe just like the famous explorers themselves. Heritage exhibits and interpretive displays add to the nostalgic feel here.
Missouri River Campground
