If new to the area and interested in history, we recommend the Tour Train. We also have several great breweries - our favorites include Ten Mile and Blackfoot Breweries (a perfect stop you can ride to after a trail ride/hike in the South Hills).
This site is perfect for those wanting to explore Downtown Helena, it's renowned trail systems, but still sleep under the stars.

Our property is in a close proximity to the Fairweather Fishing access on the Missouri River. Camping is not allowed at the access so we would be the closest camping site to this great outdoor playground. There is opportunity for fishing, floating, boating, hunting and swimming in the summer . There are groves of mature trees and open sites available. This is directly off of paved county road. The property adjacent to ours has the original ranch house and barn and other outbuildings that were part of the Ponderosa Pine Ranch which owned most of the valley we're in. The ranch house and buildings were divided away from our part of the property several years ago, so we have our home here and what was mostly pasture. The campsites are all pasture grass with trees for shade.
We do not have cell phone service here. We have one site that has 30 amp electricity. Also we do not have trash service .

Believe it or not some people don't know this. This is a campground on a river bottom in Montana. We keep it well but its fairly "raw" here. There can be wildlife - large & small game, maybe a few lost cows at times. There can be bugs - mosquitoes & spiders. There can be weeds. Water levels in the river vary dramatically depending on the time of year - sometimes high & fast other times low & slow. Sometimes it'll be really hot, dry & dusty, other times humid & muddy, maybe even flooded in areas, sometimes it can be cold & icy. If these things concern you it might be best to find an alternative. For everyone else, come on in and enjoy, we welcome you!

Once you’re off the freeway and on old town Road come to an intersection which is old town Main Street. Turn right at old town Main Street and very quickly on your left. You’ll see an old rustic building on your left with a fifth wheel parked next to the fence. You enter the property between the old rustic building and the fifth wheel RV to get into the field and you’ll see several reflectors with numbers on them.
Easiest entry is off of Main Street. Enter just in front of the Parked RV and make your way into and through the field.

You can also do a self guided tour of the Capitol building and then ride the tour train through Helena to get a quick history lesson. If you want to do something outside, we suggest Houser Lake at Lakeside with a bar and grill, a beach, fire pit, volley ball, etc. There is also guided boat rides at Gates of the Mountains on Holter Lake (about 20 miles towards Great Falls). If you are looking to go hiking, Mount Helena is a nice hike, but maybe a bit much for small kiddos, unless you have a backpack. Excellent hosts — incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout the stay. The property itself is beautiful, tucked into the trees in a way that creates a peaceful little oasis. Just a short walk from camp opens up spectacular views, and the location couldn’t be better: close to countless trails with a quick ride or drive into town. We absolutely love camping on Jamie's land. It has gorgeous views and close access to mountain biking and town. Jamie is absolutely the best host and made us feel so welcome on their property. We will be back!

This was a great spot! I camped at Site 1 in my truck that has a pop-up tent. There was plenty of space. Being near the river is a plus, my dog loved it. Ya, you can def hear the trains go by as its right acoss the river, but that didnt bother me too much (only had a couple pass in the night my visit). Id stay again.

Mackenzie is an awesome host. We arrived late but she met us and showed us where we’d be staying. Very quiet setting close to town. The camper was clean and we enjoyed our stay. Ended up spending 7 nights there.

This is an amazing spot! Beautiful land, lots to explore, while not leaving the property. Dogs loved the space to romp and splash in the river. Just outside of the gate, we crossed the bridge to the other side where the river was a bit shallow for dogs to wade in. Sunny, spectacular, & relaxing.

We really enjoyed the camping area. It's very private and we loved the sunsets. It's a great combination of nature and groomed space. Jamie went out of her way to make sure we had all of the info we were looking for. We highly recommend.

Jamie's land was perfect for our last camping trip of the season. The spot is beautiful and so peaceful. It is close enough to downtown to be convenient, yet feels like you are out in the country. Jamie was super helpful and attentive. We will definitely be back next time we are in Helena.
