Mendocino Magic is a camping, fishing, wedding and outdoor events destination in inland Mendocino county, Northern California, just a few miles off Highway 101 in the heart of the Emerald Triangle. This unique sprawling 600-acre property is home to the largest privately-held reservoir in the North Coast region, perfect for swimming and catch &release fishing. We offer tent camping, RV & Car camping, luxe furnished tents, and cabins for your stay.
Star gaze from the rolling hills of the Mendocino forest, kayak on our private Reservoir, and show off your BBQ skills with included campground amenities.
Reserve your camp site early for the best availability. About half of our 2023 summer weekends are currently sold out.

Cannonball Group Campsite A group-friendly site right on the water’s edge, Cannonball Camp offers direct access to the reservoir, free kayaks, and nearby trails. Wake up to sunrise over the lake, spend your day swimming, and enjoy some of the best stargazing on the property at night. The site includes flat ground for up to 8 tents, a picnic table, and partial shade (additional shade recommended). Due to proximity to open water, this site is not recommended for small children.
This walk-in site is a 10–15 minute uphill hike (½ mile) from the central campers’ area. One gear shuttle at check-in and check-out is included. Additional gear rides can be added for a fee. There is no minimum stay for camping. Parking available at the main lot.

Tucked along the edge of Holland Lake, Lakeside Camp offers a peaceful, semi-secluded spot for your group to enjoy the water. With a small beach just steps from your tents, direct access to free kayaks, and room for up to 5 tents, it’s a great basecamp for outdoor adventures. This site includes a picnic table, its own portapotty, and mostly open sky—so we recommend bringing extra shade. Abuelo Group Campsite A cozy, shaded group site beneath a grand old oak, Abuelo Camp offers space for 3 to 4 tents on flat grassy ground. Just a 2-minute walk from the reservoir, it’s the perfect home base for sunrises, sunsets, and stargazing. Named after the Usnea hirta (Old Man’s Beard) lichen that drapes the oak’s branches, this site feels like a quiet forest sanctuary. Includes a picnic table and open space—extra shade is recommended.

It’s a short, flat 5-minute walk from the road via a wooden path. Enjoy a picnic table under the trees and a private stargazing deck perfect for evening chats and late-night laughs. You’ll feel worlds away—while still just minutes from the reservoir and Central Camp.
This site is walk-in only. After unloading at the trailhead, park in the main lot and carry or cart your gear in. There is no minimum stay for camping. No vehicles, camper vans, or RVs are permitted at the site.

Great Location with tons of things to do. The Reservoir is a must visit even if you don’t go swimming in it. Staff was helpful & great! Super clean tents & easy to access with multiple lodging options available. Can’t wait to return!
