Our property is a sustainable learning center and developing eco-community know as Wheaton Labs! There are many passers through and a few long-term residents who are carving out a living here at the Labs. We have projects going on continuously on weekdays that we invite and encourage all of our guests to get involved with. Our projects include; natural building (timber, cob, straw bale, and more), rocket heater construction, planting, seed collecting, foraging, food preservation, fermenting, etc.
There are two properties that make up our home;
"Base Camp" is a 25 acre property that contains our classroom, workshop, the Red Cabin, the Love Shack, camping spots, a 600' well, heated showers, compostable toilets, electricity, Wifi, and a nice view of the mountains (and the freeway! Blah!).
"The Lab" is a 200 acre property, down the road from base camp, which has some hand-built living structures, two Wofati green roof structures, a 30' hand-pump well, a bee box, our rental Tipi, limited solar, and a beautiful view of the river. This part of the property can be difficult to access without 4wd and snow tires during certain parts of the winter. There are no showers on this The Lab.
