Spacious, level camping well-suited for travel trailers over 40 ft long.
The land that is now Terrapin Hill Farm has been a gathering place over the ages, and we have continued the tradition with music festivals, yoga retreats, weddings, and other celebrations. We believe that getting out in Nature... by camping, hiking, gazing at a campfire or at starry skies... is not only beneficial but necessary to our mental health. That's why we want to share our little slice of heaven with others.
Terrapin Hill offers a serene escape with its expansive, picturesque landscapes and welcoming hosts, Brenda and Pete. Campers appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, clear skies perfect for stargazing, and the convenience of amenities like firewood and cozy cabins. The property is well-regarded for its accessibility, accommodating late arrivals, and providing quick responses to guests' needs. Visitors frequently mention the hosts' kindness and the beauty of the surroundings, making it a favored spot for both relaxation and exploration.
We enjoyed a wonderful weekend of camping at the farm. The owners were super helpful and kind. It was nice to be able to let our dogs off leash to play catch and to explore a little bit.
Terrapin Hill was delightful. Brenda and Pete were wonderful hosts, and the land offered quiet spots and rolling trails. It's close to Shaker Village and lots of other sites.
Wonderful host and beautiful property! Host was very kind and accommodating. Clear directions and great amenities. Would absolutely recommend for a peaceful stay.
Brenda and Her husband have such a beautiful place and are so hospitable. They were extremely friendly and hooked us up with everything we needed for an amazing night. The land is truly special and we look forward to coming back soon!
Absolutely beautiful!
Excellent view of the stars at night and the sunrise over the trees was glorious.
The hosts were extremely accommodating (despite the fact that I arrived pretty late). I wish I had stayed here longer!
Beautiful property and a favorite for many festival goers. I was by myself and felt very welcome and accommodated. Would definitely return and have recommended it to locals for special events.
The farm was easy to find and Brenda and Pete were very accommodating. We got a good deal on a large pile of wood for the fire pit. The cottage was cozy and warm in freezing temperatures. It was also close to the restrooms, which is a plus. My friends and I had a wonderful time, despite the cold weather.
Loved it here! Only one other cabin rented and they mostly fished so it was very quiet and serene. Just what I needed for my getaway. The dogs loved roaming the land and sniffing everything! Also, the horses were so sweet and lovely. Hope to get back here again in the fall!
Pete and Brenda are truly incredible hosts! They are friendly, welcoming, and make you feel instantly at home. They're quick to respond to any request and go above & beyond to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
We were going to stay in our tents but it was too cold. So, we thankfully were able to upgrade to cabins. Brenda and Pete made this transition effortless. The cabins were nice. There was even a space heather provided, to help us be warmer. They also provided ample firewood for our weekend, at only $20 a night!
The energy of Terrapin Hill cannot be matched. It is off the grid and away from the business that life often brings.
We will most definitely be back. We actually plan to stay bi-yearly with our camping group, going forward.
I tried to visit this site no less than 5 times before actually getting to come and camp there (due to horrible luck with the weather). I had given up and figured after rescheduling so many times that I should count it as a loss but the camp host contacted me and and informed me that she would work w hipcamp to waive my rescheduling fee! That surprised me big time and as luck would have it this weekend turned out to be beautiful and our site was everything I expected and more, given the acres of land we were free to explore. The colorful fountain in the pond downhill from the tipi was visually and audibly a perfect backdrop for our night. And though the topic has seen younger days, I had no complaints w it. Firewood was ample and our host was so kind to show us around upon arrival. I do recommend!!!
Great secluded spot for a ‘roughin it’ camping trip (less techy camping :) )with my 10 year old. She loved swimming in the pond and paddling the kayaks around the pond too. It was easier than moving water. Great way to disconnect and enjoy nature.
We were greeted upon arrival. The cottage was super cute and comfy. Bed was comfy. Plenty of wood provided for a fire. Would definitely stay there again as well as recommend it!
Very fun experience! The site offered privacy and beautiful surroundings. The host was very helpful and even offered alternate options in case it rained. Would definitely go back!
A buddy and I stayed in the tipi this past Saturday night and were hoping to awake to a blanket of snow, probably my only disappointment. The hosts were kind, welcoming and made sure our stay was memorable. Once we got a nice fire going the tipi was very comfortable, waking up to a dead fire wasn't so enjoyable but that was to be expected. Will definitely return in the spring when it's warmer to enjoy the trails and some fishing. I believe we were the only visitors that evening so we didn't encounter anyone else. With that being said the location of the tipi would provide adequate privacy if anyone else were staying there. Highly recommend the tipi and I will definitely return.
Tranquil Tipi was a phenomenal experience! The hosts were so gracious and accommodating. The tipi was a dream come true for me. The wooden floor made it much more comfortable than regular tent camping, and the fire pit was such a fun element.
What a beautiful property! There was plenty for me to explore on my weekend visit and I can't wait to bring the family with me in the future. Brenda and Pete are extremely gracious hosts, I can't express how great they were to me while I battled the extreme cold at night.
The place was great, and their farm is beautiful. They worked with our ever-changing arrival times (forgot about the time zone change as well), and helped us find a good site to set up our camper. Pete met us when we arrived to show us around, and helped us fill our fresh water tank. The site we camped at was on a nice hill, but was very level at the top, and we had a great view of the fields and trees. Super secluded and quiet, and very dark at night, so we were able to stargaze, see the milky way, and a half-dozen shooting stars. All around great place.
The pictures don’t do this place justice. Very private and serene and the rest of the property is lovely as well. Hosts were very pleasant and welcoming. Will definitely be back!
We had a fantastic time at 400 Acres of Fabulous. Brenda & Pete were great hosts and very responsive. The land was beautiful. We were lucky enough to have perfect weather.
We would definitely recommend camping here.
