These campsites are for the ultra-adventurers looking for a top of the world experience and memories for a lifetime. Located between 5,400-5,600 ft in elevation, we have the entire mountain top ridge line dedicated to our unique set up. With this comes mountain top conditions; often it’s windy, the temps are erratic sometimes, occasionally we get rain (or even light snow)… mostly we have sunshine.
Gorgeous views in every direction and some of the most rare plant life and minerals in the world are just a few boasts of White Aspen Camping. We are off grid, the only electricity at our campsites comes from solar energy.
The “Rustic” campsites are fairly private, though keep in mind that this is a mountain top ridge; so there aren’t tons of trees perfectly placed to hide each site from another. This site in particular, Dragontail/Jabberwocky is one of our two 10 person group sites. It is fits 3 -6 tents (depending on the size) and comes with two picnic tables, two fire pits, and two fresh mountain spring water spigots. The bathroom is a very short walk, and shared with only one other campsite. We clean and stick the bathrooms twice a day (more if needed) and we have real flushing toilets.
This is the only site that can accommodate a small trailer (20 ft or less), but there is no electricity or sewage hookups.
We also host “Luxury” Glamping sites at White Aspen. This is not a luxury site. You bring your own tent, sleeping bag, food, firewood, etc.

Pros:
- One of the most amazing views I have ever seen at a campsite.
- Hosts were friendly, and helpful. (Suggested a tent spot sheltered from the winds)
- Absolutely the most posh outhouse I've ever seen!
Cons:
- Access road was a little sketchy on a motorcycle loaded with luggage & a passenger. But we made it!
- Wind was relentless.
Would I go back? Absolutely, but next time I won't ride up with a passenger. A little bit of rain would have made the road pretty slick and downright treacherous for a heavily loaded motorcycle.
Expect to spend 30-45 minutes drive time without cell service to get to the site. Written directions were helpful, but a few more actual road side signs put up at intersections would go a long way to navigate the winding forest roads easier. Make sure your vehicle has some ground clearance and 4wd if the weather has been wet. Remember you’re at the top of a ridge line, it is going to be much colder and treed wind breaks are minimal. Use vehicles if necessary. The views are breathtaking and we appreciated our single night reservation as it was a fun challenge, but for the cost (not as group, or in a yurt) I would rather save some $ and camp closer to day time activities.
Provided: fire rings w/ cooking grate, pump spring water, restrooms with flush toilet, picnic tables, spectacular 180 view, friendly hosts, multiple tent spots.
