This beautiful 13acre slice of heaven sits along the Little Quilcene River. Cedar+Fern hosts multiple campsites in a park-like setting amongst PNW's forest giants, Western Red Cedar, Douglas Fir, Big Leaf Maple, etc.
During your stay, explore the walking trails throughout the towering forest to find private spots along the river to take a dip. Check out all the new growth on the young fruit orchard and large food garden. Walk through the alder grove and discover both the pond as well as the new farm extension!
While on the land, let the sounds of the river wash away life's stress and enjoy a bit of the slow life.
Cedar + Fern offers a tranquil escape into nature, with privacy being a standout feature thanks to its forested setting and distance from major roads. Many campers mentioned the thoughtful amenities, including a shaded picnic table, hammocks, and a propane fire pit for use during burn bans, which contributed to a comfortable stay. While most reviews highlight the cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere provided by the host, Jill, some also noted the presence of mosquitoes, suggesting bringing along preferred bug solutions. Overall, campers left feeling relaxed and eager to return, praising the peaceful environment and the care put into maintaining the site.
To say that staying here at Cedar & Fern was a delight would be an understatement. This camping establishment has been well thought out and Jill has been intentional with the details. Even the porta potty was unprecedented! I think it was the potted monstera in the urinal that really was the finishing touch. 😄 Even though there is a burn ban, we still got to enjoy the fire at night due to the provided propane fire pit. Fresh eggs and apple cider to add to the package? Yes please! If you are a single lady/ ladies, I would especially recommend this camping space. It feels safe and sound. Finally, I have to add that this property has all the elements that I loved about Washington. 🥰
Loved that the picnic table had the shade cover over it. Kept pine needles from falling onto the table. The hammock was so relaxing. Lots of room for cars, trailer and tents.
Fantastic spot! Very private, two good tent pads, nice outhouse. This campsite is *very* shaded, so don’t expect much sun during the day. Great when it gets hot out and you want to keep cool. The propane fire pit was a nice touch during burn ban season, allowing is to enjoy the benefits of a fire without the danger. The only minor issue was the mosquitos, so bring plenty of your bug solution of choice. The host was very responsive to questions and needs.
Overall, would fully recommend, and would definitely return!
Such a beautiful piece of property! Thank you Jill for sharing it with us. It was clean, organized, and well thought out as well as very well taken care of. We would go back again in a heartbeat!
Camping at Cedar Fern is a delight! Jill has created a fun and peaceful space. We had a great time by the creek, using the swing and hammocks, and enjoying the woods. The porta potty was also the nicest I’ve used. Our whole group highly recommends Cedar and Fern for your next camping trip.
We loved this spot! You feel like you're in the middle of the forest. Lots of privacy at the site and then a nice space to take our dogs on walks. It was pretty rainy so we didn't play in the river, but it was still pretty and nice and relaxing to listen to.
Beautiful spot! Relaxing hammock, nice trail down to the river, lovely farm dog that comes to say hello; Very clean site with a friendly host- wonderful stay overall!
Beautiful, peaceful place. The host was very kind and helpful. She has clearly gone to a lot of work to make this land welcoming and comfortable. A perfect balance between natural/wild feel of the forest with numerous details that make guests feel at home. Hammocks, fire pits equipped with propane for times when there is a burn ban, beautiful garden area, very cute farm stand. The cider was delicious!!
The cleanest portable restroom I've EVER used.
Kids especially loved the rope swing and the chickens. This is exactly the type of place I would love to live permanently after I retire.
Jill was a wonderful campsite host and was extremely accommodating! She was very quick to respond and even prepped the site before our arrival. The site was very well maintained and private. We thought the outhouse was very cute and clean. We also really enjoyed this general location since there was good hiking all around the area! We would recommend this site to anyone!
Cedar + Fern is a great camping spot! We definitely enjoyed our stay there.
We were at site 4. It’s set off from the other sites, so it’s very private. It was perfect for our family(two adults and two dogs). The site is surrounded by trees, so it has a lot of shade. We have a four person tent and had plenty of space for it. It’s up at the top of hill (we made it up just fine in a two wheel drive CRV).There are some trails to explore on the property and it’s just a few minutes walk from the site to the river.
Jill is a great host! She is super responsive to messages and checked in with us during our stay to make sure we continued to have everything we needed. We definitely recommend adding on some farm fresh eggs and apple cider. Both were delicious.
We loved this spot and would definitely stay there again.
This is a lovely spot! I live not too far away….wanted a safe and private camping space my daughter and I. This was perfect! Unfortunately for us we were only able to stay one night. I plan on booking again for a 2 night stay. The host was super nice with all of my silly questions before our stay. 10/10
Ol Rail way was the perfect spot for us! It felt very secluded and had plenty of space. It came with extra additions like a picnic table and a hammock. There was a burn ban, but the site graciously got converted to have a gas fire pit. The site is also a short walk down to an absolutely beautiful river! Would definitely stay here again.
I loved staying here! Took my good friend camping for the first time and she had a blast! Very cute place, bought some playing cards from them and had a really nice peaceful time just relaxing with the trees!
This spot was perfect. It was exactly as described. There was the right amount of privacy surrounded by trees tucked away from other sites and also places to walk around in the woods and next to a small river. There was a burn ban in effect and our host supplied a propane tank to rent that was set up for our fire pit when we got there. It was such a beautiful peaceful spot. We even took advantage and dozed off in the hammock for a bit.
We enjoyed our stay at Cedar + Fern's! The campsites were roomy, clean, and had fun touches (e.g. hammocks, rain covers, fire place w/lid, swing, etc.). The washing station and toilet/porta potty were very clean! It was a neat setting nuzzled amongst the tall trees and ferns! Would definitely stay here again!
Second time camper! This space is magical and the host is lovely. It’s spacious enough and with access to a flowing river that you don’t need to even leave to have some fun. But if you do you’re close to so many other adventures! Mt Walker overlook, Rocky Brook Falls, and Hama Hama!
We had a great time camping here, it was a beautiful spot! Very quiet and peaceful. We spent a good night chatting with friends around the fire. Looking forward to the next time we can stop here.
A truly magical spot ✨ we loved camping out in this beautiful setting, listening to the river as we fell asleep, and trying the delicious apple cider. We’ll be back very soon 💛
We had a great time at Cedar + Fern. First night all to ourselves and then an equally quiet couple camped in the site next to us. I wasn't expecting site 1 to be so close to site 2 but I still enjoyed our stay, the wildlife, and the sound of the river from site 2. Definitely less rowdy than a state park. You can hear the roadway on the other side but vehicles were few and far between.
We rented the entire site for a family campout and it worked out great. Jill is a fantastic host, communicating well with quick reponses to our questions. Her property is beautiful, quiet and peaceful. It was perfect for our group to enjoy family time.
Stayed here for a night on our way out to the Olympics. What lush and lovely grounds! So peaceful and my husband even got in a little fly fishing on the creek. Fantastic fresh eggs and the best apple cider ever!
We had a wonderful stay at Cedar Fern! The grounds were absolutely beautiful—peaceful, green, and full of charm. Even when it rained, the vibe was cozy and relaxing. The swing was a fun bonus and brought out our inner kids. What really made the experience exceptional was the host. She went above and beyond—when my friend’s car battery died, she came to the rescue and jumped it for us, saving us from having to call roadside assistance. We’re so grateful and will definitely be back!
This site is FANTASTIC! Nestled in the trees, river nearby and just the perfect little spot to spend a night or more! Hammock, fire pit, and gorgeous scenery. The host was very helpful and my family of 4 (plus dog) truly enjoyed ourselves. Looking forward to coming back!
I loved the privacy and peaceful of site 4. Next to the pond i got to experience frogs, ravens, robins and a young stag came browsing one evening. I had an exquisite nap in the hammock as well. The porta potty was clean and I appreciated the wash stand area.
