Dragonfly Retreat
Aviation Enthusiasts MUST Stay Here
We had an amazing time at Dragonfly Retreat!! We planned to stay 1 night on our way thru town and enjoyed it so much we decided to stay another night. The property is a little tricky to find so make sure you follow the directions you will get in a message from Tammy. It’s a large gravel pull around with a large grassy area in the middle. There’s a large fire ring with a cute bench. The port a potty was literally the cleanest one I’ve ever seen! Tammy was very communicative and brought us some firewood, checked in to see if we needed anything. The site was private and though it’s near the road, road noise wasn’t really an issue. Now I realize this is not everyone’s cup of tea, but if you're not aware, the Navy has an outlying field in the area and they use it for fighter jet maneuvers. If you’re like us, and love aviation, are a Top Gun fan or like air shows, you HAVE to book this site!!!! When the Navy starts doing their thing, it’s like having your own private air show. We drove a few minutes down to the edge of the sound on the first night to watch and right by the runway with about 10-15 other very excited people watching F-18s practice their touch and go’s, approaches, landings and the like. I’m talking jets so low that you can read what squadron they’re attached to. It was absolutely epic!!!!! Even after two nights, it didn’t get old. We still lit up like school children every time one flew over. They don’t fly every day but hopefully you can catch them!

Arriving was such a treat when we saw our spot for 4 nights! And the deer who visited every day were the best. Tammy responded to every question or comment- I’m only sorry we didn’t actually meet! Next time - we will be back 🤗

Dragonfly Retreat
Lovely! Pull-through gravel drive with a plush, level space to pitch a tent. Porta-john, covered trashcan, fire pit with wood provided. Near town if you want a nice dinner and not too far from Deception Pass.

We loved our stay here. It was super peaceful. The property is beautiful and was covered in wildflowers. There was a super clean, fresh porta-potty and plenty of firewood provided.

Dragonfly Retreat
This is a great site for exploring Whidbey. You have the camp to yourself. It is surrounded by woods so you feel like you are away from it all, yet you are close to many fun sites/activities. The only downside is that it is near the main road, so you do get the road noise. It is not terrible, but it is there.

Dragonfly Retreat
My husband and I had an absolutely fabulous time camping at the beautiful, private and peaceful dragonfly retreat. Tammy had plenty of wood for us (AMAZING!!), had the cleanest porta-potty we’ve ever seen/smelled (miraculous), was quick to reply and very thoughtful. We saw deer, bald eagles, tons of various birds, rabbits and of course dragonflies. It was magical amongst the beautiful trees, flowers, plants and animals, we couldn’t have hoped for more. We loved how close the gorgeous beaches were and the short drive to Coupeville and its seaside shops and restaurants. We’re VERY happy that we stayed on Tammy’s land and plan to return!! 😁
