The camping area is accessible by 4WD only, otherwise, strap on a backpack and earn it! (800m walk/hike from where a non 4WD can park). The waterfall is reached by a single trail track from the campsite, and you do need to be an experienced hiker to get to the waterfall. Which is part of the appeal!

The views are spectacular from both campsites. They are not far apart and we enjoyed strolling between the different outlooks. There is lots of wide open flat space for games, and many perfect spots for sunset drinks. The drop off in front of the the campsite is steep, so be aware that it might not suit those with toddlers. As previous reviewers stated, you definitely need a 4WD. Magic Mountain was a perfect, private and relaxing location for our long weekend.
We loved camping at magic Mountain. Loved waking up to such a beautiful view!
Great spot, good lay out. Pat was super easy to deal with. A 4WD to get up with drive way is a must.
Awesome and private spot. We braved the road up to the spot. The drive up is not for the faint hearted on account that it is unsealed and in very poor condition. I drive a Suburu Outback and just about managed.
Highly recommend heading here though, there was a large Teepee style tent which looked to be permanently erected on one of the 2 pitches, which my friends utilised whilst I was in the swag.
Great views, and great times
Wonderful! We really loved camping at magic mountain.
Patrick is a great host, communicate very well. Thank you!
A great location (about an hour from Melbourne) and we felt like we are entering the Alice in wonderland.
The drive way from the gate is quite steep, adventurous itself, (Yep, you MUST NEED A 4WD) so much fun and thrill drive get to the top. Enjoy the amazing veiws when you entered the Patrick's wonderland, Magic mountain. It's very beutiful private camping site with amazing views, sunset and shining stars at night! And we were lucky to meet a kangaroo while we were there. :)
Love to recommend to everyone but we don't want his place gets too popular :) Thanks Patrick. You will see us very much from now on.

Camping on Magic Mountain was great. Spectacular views and the privacy was great. Plenty of space. You'll absolutely need a 4WD with decent ground clearance to access the site.

Beautiful spot!

Thanks Matt was a pleasure having you
Great private spot close to Melbourne. We will be back
Beautiful spot, loved the site. We struggled with our FWD suv, would not go up. Only take a 4WD. The hike is very steep, and of you have packed heavy like us, it will kill you. Pack light, and be prepared for a steep hike to the top if there is even a slightest chance that your car cant make it.We somehow made it. We took our dogs, I will not recommend taking dogs as the site is not fenced. We also got told by a local, there could be snakes, definitely not for dogs.
