Beautiful, secluded camping spot
The RV campsite overlooks a gorgeous, well-kept, large, rolling field of grass, and some trees. There's a fire pit built out of boulders, a picnic table, and a swing set. The host is very welcoming and even gave us s'more fixings, and there was already some firewood in the pit. We did opt for the badminton and corn hole, and my 8 year-old son enjoyed both. When booking, I wondered whether the site was private. It turned out that the site is next to a stored boat, and there is a house further up the hill on that side. However, that's on the side of your RV that you don't open to, and the boat storage breaks the house's view, so it did feel like we had privacy. The side that the RV does open to is quite beautiful, and my son remarked about it multiple times. There is a sweet, free-roaming white Labradoodle named Stanley who sometimes came to visit my dog, and joined us for a walk. We were able to get supplies in the nearby town of Banks. We also drove an hour (each way) to Tillamook and did the Creamery tour, with ice cream of course. Between all that, and also watching the movie "The Fall Guy" by the campfire on a laptop we brought, while having s'mores, my son asked to stay longer. We had to get back, but I would highly recommend this spot to anyone. An electrical hookup was available, and water but not by direct hookup. No shower or bathrooms (ours were in our RV anyway).

Great view and also not too far from a gas station and restaurant and the Puget Sound.
Rivers Ridge
in Rivers Ridge, WashingtonMind-blowing view and relaxation
Aside from the mind-blowing view and unmatched solitude, you have to drive by the notoriously best-of-Oregon hikes, "Coyote Wall", to even arrive at this Hipcamp. The treehouse offers a memorable sleep on a summer's night, and a memorable view and respite the rest of the year. My 9 year-old loved climbing to the top level to read in the hammock during our trip. The electric hook-up is compatible with a standard RV one. We have a 30 foot setup and to get it in there, we pull left and back up. It can be done, it just takes strategy. Anyways, I *effing* love this place, I have been here twice, I would recommend it to anyone who likes places with a view, who likes Hood River, who has an RV needing electricity and water but no sewage. The bathroom is in a part of the host's land that's under construction. That's ok because we have our own thing. Anyways, I love this place and me and my 9 year-old son will be back. Amenities: small wood fire pit (but fire bans will often be in effect for safety), RV-friendly electric hookup, in structure toilet, no shower, tree house with burner and small refrigerator, potable water, mattress with mosquito net in treehouse, water hookup (not sure if it's potable because we stuck to our own) , easy access to Hood River (via toll bridge) and Coyote Wall.

Pretty, 20 minutes from ski areas, fast WiFi, picnic table and fire pit, dividers between sites, bathrooms, showers, fun and comfortable. Rainbow Trout Farm is about 5 minutes away if you want to fish a bit too!

in KLICKITAT VIEW CABIN, WashingtonA private and scenic location
This is a secluded cabin with no other people nearby, merely some deer, in the high desert. There are some locations where you can see for miles. It is most certainly as advertised. Bonuses were that there was an acoustic guitar on the wall, and a full kitchen with an oven, a range, and a fridge (no freezer). It had all the pots and pans and things you would need for coffee, a French press and pour over. No coffee grinder or filters though. The one downside was that during the day there were quite a few yellow jackets, and some even got in the cabin via holes in the screen doors. We werenât able to shower because the yellow jacket activity was quite strong, so we did sponge baths in the sink. The host has traps up for them but they are still numerous. We relaxed inside during the day and had no issue with it, but it wouldnât be suitable to let kids outside to play. Overall though it was such a pleasant and relaxing weekend, I would recommend it for those it fits.

The view does not disappoint. When youâre at the site, you canât see another human, or a house, or a town, or anything but trees and water no matter which way you look. It is one of the most private campsites I have ever been at. It certainly delivers on the dream of how wonderful camping can be.

It's neat that this place is at Wy'East Mountain Academy, and that you can use the grounds for part of your stay there. But what I like about it is that I'm 20 minutes away from SkiBowl, but below the snow line. It's so nice to just come out on a Saturday morning, drop off my camping trailer, head up the mountain, play in the snow, come back down, and relax, then take off the next day back into Portland. I also like that the fire pit is a group one rather than one per campsite because I enjoy talking to other folks staying there. I would totally recommend this for people looking to play on Mount Hood for the weekend!
