It is a fun, winding road up Hwy 14 and down a private drive to a camping spot with a fabulous view of the Columbia River. This was a family vacation where we enjoyed the area sightseeing and shopping. The night sky was breathtaking. Used our Sky View app to explore the constellations.

Gorgeous location looking out over the river gorge and we loved having access to a flush toilet! We had a really clear night and could see the Milky Way. Bugs weren’t much of a bother either. We had a fabulous stay.

Wow! The view is SPECTACULAR. You feel like you’re all alone in the wilderness but you’re just 10 min away from fabulous restaurants in White Salmon and 20 min away from more great restaurants in Hood River. The toilet and sink were very handy. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful views of the river. Off the beaten path in a secluded area, but within just a few minutes of White Salmon, WA and Hood Rover, OR. Host was very friendly and accommodating. Great stay, would definately recommend.

What a gem! Such a cool spot with beautiful views in a great location. Definitely use the treehouse! It’s so unique and fun! My friends kiddos that joined me could hardly contain their little squeals they were in a real life fort and couldn’t believe it!!😆 we can’t wait to stay again. The host, Robert is also very attentive if you need anything or have questions and yet we never saw him, totally private little spot.

Awesome, quiet location with panoramic views above the Columbia. We were lucky with the weather: clear skies offering beautiful sunrises and starry nights. Only sounds were the ocassional winds, birds and very distant trains. Robert was very friendly and a great host! Next time visiting the Columbia, Robert's Land will be on our list for overnighting.

Cons: treehouse is dusty, blow up mattress is dirty, rug is dirty on treehouze, and needs some updating from non-supportive structures cracking. Mosquitoes (obviously out of control of the host but good to know about). Pricey site. Limited space, might have struggled finding a spot for our tent (9 person tent)
Originally we were going to use our tent but there was concern for wind for campfires so we decided to do the treehouse. It was dirty in a way that discouraged us from staying there and the mosquitoes were out in full force. I'd say bring bug spray and definitely stay in a tent. We didn't bring our tent so we left that night and there was no wind at all which was frustrating.

We loved staying on Robert's land at the River's Ridge site. The views are amazing, you can't beat watching the sun set on the far hills while enjoying a nice warm campfire (fireban permitting). The site is fairly flat, with plenty of space to park a campervan or other rig, and there's a long flat driveway section for larger vehicles. It's close to White Salmon and Bingen, and just a short drive to Hood River. Also it's just up the road from the Coyote Wall trailhead, a great spot for a hike.
The bathroom is under construction currently, but don't be put off by that. Having access to a clean restroom while camping is a huge plus!
Robert is a very friendly host, and we appreciate him sharing his slice of nature with others! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a getaway that's still close to a ton of amenities.

Great spot to escape the city and get an amazing sunset and sunrise over the Gorge! Host was quite accommodating and helpful. The camper parking spot is situated among the trees about 150 feet up the driveway from the house where the toilet is located.

We had a great 2 night stay at Rivers Ridge. We enjoyed birdwatching from the site - lots of great bird sightings. Also enjoyed nearby hiking and biking options. We'll be back, and plan to stay longer next time!

Mind-blowing view and relaxation

Aside from the mind-blowing view and unmatched solitude, you have to drive by the notoriously best-of-Oregon hikes, "Coyote Wall", to even arrive at this Hipcamp. The treehouse offers a memorable sleep on a summer's night, and a memorable view and respite the rest of the year. My 9 year-old loved climbing to the top level to read in the hammock during our trip. The electric hook-up is compatible with a standard RV one. We have a 30 foot setup and to get it in there, we pull left and back up. It can be done, it just takes strategy. Anyways, I *effing* love this place, I have been here twice, I would recommend it to anyone who likes places with a view, who likes Hood River, who has an RV needing electricity and water but no sewage. The bathroom is in a part of the host's land that's under construction. That's ok because we have our own thing. Anyways, I love this place and me and my 9 year-old son will be back. Amenities: small wood fire pit (but fire bans will often be in effect for safety), RV-friendly electric hookup, in structure toilet, no shower, tree house with burner and small refrigerator, potable water, mattress with mosquito net in treehouse, water hookup (not sure if it's potable because we stuck to our own) , easy access to Hood River (via toll bridge) and Coyote Wall.

The view and walking trails were wonderful, the bathroom was a nice plus as well. A little bit less secluded than I originally thought but still had enough privacy. If you’re bringing dogs (or even if you aren’t) be aware there are A LOT of ticks - picked 20+ off of each of my dogs (dead due to their flea/tick prevention). Not anything the host can do about this, but definitely something to note! Overall good experience.

Rivers ridge was fantastic. Absolutely beautiful view and the perfect spot to hook up our camping trailer. There was electrical right where we needed it and a basement bathroom we were able to use right down a short path. We are looking forward to going back in the summer and renting the treehouse as well. One thing to note, is it’s a steep road up. We tow a trailer with our van and I wouldn’t want to try it if it was really rainy or any other bad weather. The directions provided by Robert are incredibly easy to follow (don’t use the ones by maps).

What an epic spot! Not only is the view of the river amazing, but the little area to park your teardrop and enjoy the views is well maintained, easy to get to, spacious to put up camp and overall very enjoyable.
There’s trails that lead out from camp to explore, as well as cleared smaller areas where a tent would fit perfectly in. (Beware of ticks, though! We didn’t realize they’d be out in full force mid-February).
Robert was very nice and the basement restroom that was made accessible to us was handy when the rain was super heavy. Even though the camp spot isn’t really secluded on the property (the main house is really close), we felt the space to be pretty private regardless.
We’d absolutely come back again for a stay - hopefully in warmer, rain-free weather next time!
