Audra State Park is less than 20 minutes away with lush forest trails with caves to explore. Well known hiking trails such as Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob, and the Dolly Sods are all within an hour drive. Go to Nelson Rocks for the ultimate climbing experience on the Via Ferrata. Welcome to our Island Farm! We're located between Davis, Parsons, and Elkins. Dolly Sods, Canaan, Audra State Park, the Tygart River, the Cheat River, Seneca Rocks, and Tygart Lake are all a simple and scenic trip away. The land itself is 10 acres. The main camp area is on flat field and approximately 4 acres. Here is the secret recipe to this camp site: It will be all yours! We only offer a single primitive site per night. There are no neighbors (at least the human kind) visible from anywhere on the main field. Very minimal light pollution. The stars are clearly visible on a clear night. There are also no utilities. This includes water, electricity, or available enclosed shelters. Verizon and AT&T have strong signals in the field. There is a metal carport that has a concrete pad along with a Porta John for privacy. There are also some storage buildings on site. There is a gas station (Sheetz in Belington, WV) within 5 miles of the farm site and a Dollar General within 3 miles. Beyond that, Elkins has plenty of store options if you need supplies. Interstate 79 is 32 miles away. We are in the process of developing the far corner of the main field into an active hops farm and are members of a WV Co-Hop. Again: this site is secluded and your group will be the only people there during your stay. We will provide detailed directions when you make your reservation. The driveway is steep and could cause issues for two wheel drive vehicles in winter. If it's rained extensively there could also be some muddy areas which we ask that you try to avoid.

Weekend Trip to Czar Haus Cabin and RV Sites

Our RV full hook-up site was fairly level with only minor side-to-side and front-to-back leveling needed. Our site was maybe 30 feet from the river - great background noise to enjoy an evening around the firepit, although didn't see any trout. Be aware, the locals cruise the streets and off road trails on noisy quads. This absolutely stopped after dark. As for nearby activities: definitely drive to Helvetia, park and walk the town. If you can visit before the end of June 2026 drop by the authentic swiss store/post office - they are closing the doors at the end of June. Definelty book a reservation at The Hutte for early dinner (they close at 6PM) for traditional swiss/German cuisine. Walk through the restaurant- it's like a local historic museum. Everybody is super friendly so remember to wave. Take it easy on the roads with your rig - they are very winding and hilly.

We just had our first RV park experience at Momma Tried, and wow—what a great start! Frank, the host, went above and beyond from the moment we arrived. He greeted us personally, gave us the lay of the land, and even lent us a 30-to-50 amp plug when we realized we didn’t have one. That kind of hospitality is rare! The sites are wide, gravel, and level with easy access to the river. Our pup loved that the park is pet-friendly—he was in heaven running around the open spaces. When we weren’t relaxing at our site, Frank surprised us with firewood for a campfire, which was such a thoughtful touch. We originally picked a site that wasn’t quite what we had in mind, but Frank was incredibly accommodating and helped us switch to one that was perfect for us. He was also upfront about the park’s growing pains and shared his exciting plans for the future. As longtime tent campers, this was our very first RV park stay—and it couldn’t have been better. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks again, Frank, for such a memorable time!

Czar Haus campground was very nice, quite, peaceful. The site was well done. Robert was there to make sure we were all good and did not need anything. The small creek is so nice we let our dog splash and play. If I am in the area I would book it again. Robert knew what he was doing when he laid the sites out. We saw Deer every morning and evening. Heidi has a beautiful piece of ‘Almost Heaven’ conveniently located near Morgantown WV. The sites are level and the views spectacular. Heidi and her mother Susie made us feel like honored guests and treated us to a tour of their bountiful garden. We will most definitely stay again when we are in the area.

We had a great time at the Trout Camp! Very beautiful setting, peaceful and quiet just a great place to sit and relax listening and watching the wildlife! Trout fishing is available all around the area, at summer water levels now but fall is not far off. The host, Paul was great and we enjoyed meeting and talking with him! We’ll be back in the spring, thanks

Weekend Trip to The Trout Camp

The tent area is really nice. Very shady, lots of soft grass, and ample space between sites. The owners keep things tidy and the grass mowed. There is a stream right there, in which you can do some quality creek-sittin'. We brought our pop-up. The RV sites were rather close together, but the only other guest was 3 sites down from us and they only stayed one night. RV site #5 is closest to the camp host's trailer, which wasn't great, but they were all friendly and didn't bother us. The opposite end of the RV sites seemed to have a long-term RV guest as well. Didn't see any tent campers at all, but my guess is that this place typically gets busy when the creek is high enough to do some fishing. It was super low when we were there, but I believe there are two sections of the creek that are deep enough to swim around. The bathrooms and showers were clean and operable and equipped with a heater. The bath house itself is an impressive wood slab structure. Don't be discouraged by the Trumpy neighbors, who share the driveway entrance, and their threatening signs about the speed limit. The campground itself is an oasis and the hosts are friendly.

I loved glamping here in a camper van! Everyone was so friendly, the directions were clear, and there was a beautiful creek running right behind our site. Our dogs loved cooling off in the creek, and I was so happy to enjoy a nice shower in the well-cared for bathroom during our stay.

The host (Heidi) was very kind and provided us with all kinds of information and local produce, all great. The views were nothing but stunning and after a long ride a cool swim in the pool was very welcome. There is also a nice shop with handcrafted WV themed products. At night we saw fireflies and rabbits. A memory we will keep with us. Definitely going back if we have the chance!
