Learn more about this land: Texas Hill Brook camp site The Texas Hill Brook site is a flat, wooded campsite on Texas Hill Brook in Huntington. The campsite is roughly 10m x 30m (30' x 100'), large enough for several tents or a small camper/RV. It is accessed by a sloped 50m (about 150') gravel driveway. The narrowest part of the driveway is 2.6m (about 8.5 feet). There is a 3m x 3m (10' x 10') tent platform and a large picnic table. Firewood is provided. Near our home about 120m/400 feet away through the trees but relatively private. Within a short pedal or drive to some of the best mountain biking and hiking Vermont has to offer, 15 minutes to Richmond and Hinesburg, and just a half hour to Burlington. Electricity on site, primitive fire pit, but no other facilities, so ALL waste must be packed out. We have a bucket commode to loan if you don’t have your own.

Located in the heart of the Green Mountain National Forest, the Outdoor Center provides access to the Blueberry Hill network of trails, the Vermont Long Trail, The Catamount Trail, and the Moosalamoo National Forest Trails. All campsites are located at the edge of the field behind the Outdoor Center. We have hot/cold outdoor showers as well as restrooms in the Outdoor Center. Cell service is limited at best. You can drive your car right up to your site. Sites are a good distance apart. Site 1 and the Bed in the Shed are the most private. Site two is quite open and supports trailers. For your campfire, you can forage for wood or request "bundles" (about a dozen hunks of wood) by the morning of your arrival, and we'll have it delivered to your site. Please note, wood from outside Vermont is not permitted. We like to keep things quiet. No generators at any time. Step outside your tent and you'll find a wealth of hiking, biking, and running trails. As stewards of these trails, your camping fees help support the efforts of this non-profit company. Nearby, you can enjoy swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. Trail maps are provided upon arrival, and you can also view them online on our webpage at Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center. The Outdoor Center offers snacks and cold drinks for purchase, including our inn-made chocolate chip cookies, chips, and cold drinks. We loved staying at the Forest Retreat with our dogs! It was perfect fit for what we needed, a little table with chairs, nice bed (bring your favorite blankets from home to make it even better!), a lovely porch we hung out on almost every second we got, and a loft we didn’t use but would be great for larger stay over groups! Outside there is a spot for a campfire, where we of course made a couple of camp meals including smores and pizza. There is also a communal camp kitchen if you do not have a cook set. Over all, Sara was an amazing host and was extremely kind for opening up her land to hipcampers! We will definitely be back! Highly recommend stopping by the Farm Stand to grab the most fresh produce you’ve ever had, amazing home made maple syrup, and a couple other fun things! We loved the 420 friendly farm vibes and her own personal organic grown.

Weekend Trip to Harold's View Farm

We took our two sons on their first camping trip here and it couldn't have been better. The property was beautiful, the view was amazing and Louella was an amazing host. We even had a show after dark with all of the fireflies out in the field. Louelle provided us with most of the essentials and she greeted us upon our arrival. We had a fire and played outside with all of the open space. They even had trails surrounding the property so we were able to go out on a nice walk. As a fellow Hipcamp host, this place was a 10 out of 10. We will absolutely be booking another weekend here this summer!

It was a beautiful and peaceful space and that's exactly what I was looking for after some birthday shenanigans with my children and my nephew. We had a nasty and it was amazing to let my 6 year old be free to roam in a peaceful scenic view.

Weekend Trip to Pine Cone Cabin

Cute little property! A nice place if you want to be close to hiking areas or just lay low for a bit. Keep in mind there’s no cellphone service and the property is right off a main road (not near a home so you have the place to yourself, but the road was loud). The cabin had a wonderful wood stove, sink, mini fridge, electric stovetop and tons of thoughtful equipment. Though our trip was short we hope to come back to the area again one day.

Wonderful experience, thanks to Ted and Sue. The cabin is outfitted with a lot of things that make staying there quite comfortable, like the gas heater, lights and solar battery. I do wish the front door had a lock, though.

The view is AMAZING. We stayed 2 nights with our golden retriever while attending a local event. Kathleen was an awesome host and very helpful. The cabin is cozy and comfortable. We really enjoyed playing the board games in the cabin while warming up by the wood stove at night.
