Our canvas tents and open air platforms perch between the river and the former Delaware & Hudson Canal which was once was used to transport raw goods by barge to New York City via the 'port' of Port Jervis. The remnants of the canal walls are throughout the property including a 300 person theater which we created to both preserve and feature this industrial history. It also makes a great place for an event or a movie night. Today, the original canal towpath, along which barges would be pulled and floated downstream, is a trail that links all of the campsites over 5 acres and at the furthest end an eel fishing camp that is in operation from June to October (say 'hi' to Jim). In the early 1900s, the train replaced the canal as the primary method of moving goods into New York and if you are lucky — you will hear the train rumble by along the river on the Pennsylvania side. There is something spectacular in the absolute still and grandness of the river, the mountains and the ongoing industrial history of the valley. It is a reminder of the way things used to be. The farmhouse and cabins are located opposite the campsites on other side of route 97. Next to them are 50 acres of wild forest to hike and explore. A queen temper-pedic bed and super comfy overstuffed futon will assure a good night's slumber. The Record Room's covered outdoor kitchen is designed to extend the awesome vibes into every meal.. (I.E., Flat top grill, single burner, and stainless grate grill all powered by propane, cast iron frying pans, and utensils). Our outhouse is designed and maintained by the women of the family, and great pride is taken in making it a favorable experience. A small wood stove heats the Record Room on chilly mornings and nights. If you're looking for the fine line between camping and glamping, this is your place! We recommend having some prior camping expertise, and we must mention that there is no WiFi/ service. This cabin has been in my family for over 40 years, and we love to share it's charm with the world! Sleep like a log in our one-room charming cabin on a small private lake lot with non-motor boats only. Little Elk Lake is 43 acres. Queen bed with linens provided, plus 2 adult cots with pads and sleeping bags. Rowboat plus 1 youth kayak, two adult kayaks and a canoe are available for your use, and we have life jackets in many sizes. We are sorry but the pontoon boat cannot be used by guests. The fishing is EXCELLENT and bring your binoculars - BALD EAGLES frequent the lake! We want you to have so much FUN during your visit, but we are not a party spot. The lake is rural and quiet, and so we must request low noise levels after 10 pm in order to keep our neighborhood HAPPY! :) We welcome everyone, including the LGBQT community and folks from all ethnicities. You'll feel like you are coming home to a safe haven and all guests will be treated with kindness and respect here at Sunset Shore! Don't waste one moment of lake time! 2 nights at Dark Sky Retreat

We stayed at Dark Sky retreat for a few nights and even in January after a giant snow storm it was so lovely and cozy! The woodstove and heater keep the home nice and toasty. Kevin and Amy are very communicative hosts if you any questions at all they respond quickly. The hot tub is awesome even in the below freezing temperatures and there was not a single thing we needed or forgot to bring that the house didn’t have prepared for us! The kitchen is very well stocked with supplies and everything was very clean. The stars are very visible even with not totally clear sky’s. very close to Elk Mountain which is great for beginner skiers. 10/10 recommend staying here

everything you’ll ever need for a cozy stay outdoors. we chose this spot because of the tiny shelter it afforded during what was going to be below freezing temps. The kitchen space and bed set up was much appreciated and allowed us to focus enjoying the stay itself. The owners were super helpful getting us setup and providing a welcoming space. Bring layers and everything you need to keep warm in the winters - we even caught a light snow storm on our morning of departure! would come back again.

2 nights at Wurtsboro Ridge Retreat

This cabin was exactly what my partner and I were looking for for a quiet two-day retreat that felt outdoorsy without all the work of true camping. Space heaters and a woodstove kept it fairly cozy for cold November nights, and there was a ton of wood available for the outdoor firepit. We enjoyed exploring the collection of board games and CDs inside, plus outdoor badminton and frisbee under the lights. Beautiful clear stargazing, and easy driving distance to some great hikes.

The Cabin with No Name exceeded every expectation we had. The awesome book selection, incredibly comfortable bed, the amazing shower, the vast land of trails behind it all paired with quirky/cozy decor are only a few of the warm takeways from this experience. Kat swiftly responded to us and answered all our questions promptly. We enjoyed it here so much we decided to extend our trip in the middle of it. It's obvious the care, attention and love that was put into this place. It truly felt like our home away from home. Would absolutely return here.

We stayed at the Record Room Cabin this past weekend and absolutely loved it! The hot tub with warm water and hot tub made for such a unique experience — truly unforgettable. The sense of privacy and peace was perfect, and the vinyl record collection was just incredible. There's even a magnificent pool table under a canopy with a view of the forest – a truly stunning sight. I agree with all the comments above. This is truly an amazing place! I really hope to come back again!

3 nights at The Record Room

My sweetheart and I had such an amazing time at The Record Room. We stayed for 3 nights and we wish we had one more! It was a cozy getaway that felt timeless. We loved setting the vibe with the records, dancing in the living room, and just enjoying some slow, peaceful days. It was cold when we went and one day was particularly rainy, but there is a lot to enjoy indoors and the fireplace kept us warm and cozy. One thing to note is that the wood provided is rather thin and burns fast. For this reason, heating the hot tub and keeping the indoor fireplace lit is a JOB! We had to add every 15 minutes or so. Our recommendation is to start early on the hot tub and bring some of your own logs as well - even better if they’re the big fire-starter ones. Overall it’s a special place. Masen and his family are great hosts and we hope to make it back again someday.

Weekend Trip to Pocono Cabin With No Name

We loved our stay at Kat’s land in her cozy and quaint cottage. It has the perfect layout for sleeping, relaxing by the fireplace, making food (and roasting smores!) We couldn’t have picked a more perfect time to visit - the fall colors were on full display. I selected to have fresh eggs and two bundles of firewood which was very convenient. The beds were comfy, there were plenty of fresh towels and blankets for all. We loved how stocked the bookcase was with books and games for all ages! The best part of the cabin was getting to hike down to the small creek and trails. It was just perfect and the whole house is quite convenient to town. We enjoyed our stay!

We had a perfect fall Sunday followed by a rainy Monday that somehow made the cabin even better. Warm, quiet, and easy to settle into. Jennifer was kind and responsive, and everything felt thoughtful without trying too hard. We found and brought an old CD player, a crate of our old scratched mix CDs, and ended up listening by the fire, laughing at what used to be our favorite songs and what stuck. Turns out, that’s about as good as it gets. Highly recommend bringing a few of your own instant time machine.

Masen was very friendly and helpful when we arrived. The Record Room was a cool place to stay and we really enjoyed it there. Yes, it takes some time to get the hot tub warm but just make a plan and make it happen cause it’s awesome! It was especially magical with a full supermoon lighting up the sky! A great little retreat with lots of hiking in the area, and pretty views. The property was fairly well equipped. The stream on the property was dried up from no rain, and though bummed, Mother Nature is in charge, so we readjusted our expectations. Just a little disappointing how quickly the power was gone from listening to records. We didn’t really need power but for that, with our constant campfire and our lanterns while we were on site, but we wanted wanted more music! Haha The collection is fun and diverse! Overall, the Record Room is a cool experience and I recommend it!

We stayed here on a road trip - quick overnight. It's not far from the highway. The campsites and facilities were nice - seemed like it would be a great place for a family with lots of kids! It was not crowded, and the people we encountered were friendly.

Pickerel Point Campground

Amazing nature getaway in the Poconos. Pickerel Point is one of the nicest, cleanest well maintained campgrounds I've stayed in. We used to go every year before we moved away. Most walk in sites are private, with a good amount of shade and access to the lake. Supplies (beer & firewood) are about a 20min drive to "town". Grab some friends, reserve a few sites next to each other & a good time will be had by all. Don't forget to rent a canoe to explore the secret island!

Pickerel Point Campground

Spent Columbus Day weekend with friends new and old near the tip of Pickerel Point. We reserved two side by side spots which had the bonus of being both nestled in trees and having an amazing view of the lake. The campground was quiet after 10pm, well-maintained and the "locals" were welcoming. Tom and Anne, the resident Camp Hosts, stopped by in the morning and bent our ears about local lore and history. Only two hours from NYC, we'll definitely be back when Pickerel fully reopens for Spring.
