Wiseman Ridge is a boutique micro campground for RVs only, first opened in July of 2022. Our property adjoins the Blue Ridge Parkway in Linville Falls NC with easy access off NC 221. We offer 5 full hook up RV sites with views of Hawksbill, Table Rock and Humpback Mountains. Micro means we have only a handful of sites but that is where micro ends. Each site is expansive, with large areas to spread out and enjoy the views or play yard games. Unlike typical RV parks our sites are spread out on the ridge top and offer great views and lots of space.
Our campground offers a unique camping experience for the RV and outdoors enthusiast. All of our RV sites feature views of the surrounding peaks and have full hook ups with, water, septic and 30 or 50 amp power access, high speed wi-fi access at each site as well as a picnic table and in ground fire pits.
Wiseman Ridge provides the peace and quiet of nature at its finest, with easy direct access to the Blue Ridge Parkway by foot or by road. We are just a mile down the parkway from the entrance to the Linville Falls parking lot and picnic area, and 2 miles from Kistler Memorial Highway (Old NC 105) that provides access to the western rim of Linville Gorge and multiple trailheads.
Our campground is for conventional travel trailers and motorhomes only. We do not have bathroom or bathhouse facilities so we cannot allow campers that do not have a self contained bathroom that can hook up to a conventional RV sewer drain and no human waste is allowed in our trash receptacles.

Each site has full hook ups. No tents are allowed due to lack of toilet facilities.

Welcome to Peak A View Farm & Camp where Rest and Relaxation are a Reality! Come enjoy the beautiful landscape of the western mountains in Ashe County, NC on ninety acres of farmland and forest surrounded by mountain peaks, the New River and breathtaking sunsets. On the drive in, to the southeast you can see Peak Mountain for which the property was named. The mountain is part of the New River State Park and is known for its scenic river views and hiking trails.
Two RV buddy campsites are available on the property. Campsite #1 was originally created for our personal use. Campsite #2, so our fellow camping buddies could join us. Although a short drive from our homes, the serenity of the property always makes us feel as if we’ve travelled many miles. Campsites are laid out in an ‘L’ shape which creates the perfect group camping experience. Guests can choose to camp alone or invite others. Campsite 1 and 2 are reserved together as one booking due to the close proximity of the sites.
The property is secluded, but easily accessible. Campsites are full hookups which include water, sewer and 50 amp electric. Both sites can accommodate any size RV. They are gravel and level which makes getting set up easy. A 30 x 30 shelter with concrete floor, lights, picnic tables and trash bin is nearby, which is a great asset in any weather. A fire pit and chairs are a nice addition for evening enjoyment. Firewood is provided. WiFi is available.
The area is pet friendly. Pets can be off leash, however, you might consider leashing your pet, as wildlife is frequently seen. If your furry friend is anything like our dogs, the chase is on when a deer, squirrel or turkey makes a sudden appearance!
During your stay, take a 7/10 mile walk down to the New River. Pull up one of the chairs on the small covered deck overlooking the river, sit back and take in the sounds of the calming waters. Watch floaters, kayakers and canoe navigators pass by or enjoy your own floating, fishing and swimming. On the other side of the river is part of the New River State Park.
A 15 minute drive will take you to downtown West Jefferson for restaurants and shopping. Visit the Ashe County Chamber of Commerce online or downtown for information on our county’s many attractions and events.

Numerous large manicured campsites in an open space DIRECTLY ON THE NEW RIVER where adventures abound! Up to 4 guests and 2 tents per site.
Newly constructed tiny home provides GLAMPING at its finest! The Liberty cabin shares a space with a few tent sites along the river. With the addition of Liberty, I have limited the number of campers to 4. (Exceptions may be made for holiday weekends). There is plenty of space for everyone and the cabin sits above the tent sites for amazing views and privacy.
While HWY 16 can be a bit noisy during busy times, step into the campsites and let the peaceful noise-canceling river serenity whisk you away. Forest views across the river with endless fireflies and stars that light up the night!
Zaloo's Canoes, Kayak, and Tubes is within eyesight and will set you up with an amazing float or paddle down river. Plentiful small mouth bass and trout fishing just steps from your site. Outhouse w/washing station. Fire pits at each site as well as a large communal fire pit and picnic tables.
Downtown West Jefferson is just 15 minutes away with local breweries, quaint restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, shopping, music, art, and a wonderful farmer's market from May - October.
The quaint little town of Lansing, NC is quickly becoming a favorite stop of mine. Check out the Old Orchard Creek General Store, Pie on the Mountain Pizza, the Old Orchard Creek Blueberry Farm, and Molly Chomper for a perfect day in Ashe County.
The New River State Park is an easy walk, float, paddle or drive away. This park is absolutely GORGEOUS and impeccably maintained, including hiking trails, public facilities, showers, boat launch and pick up, etc.
Just a short drive to multiple Blue Ridge Parkway entry points for ease of access to Boone, Appalachian State University, Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain, Banner Elk, and the Linville Gorge.
Mount Jefferson and Grayson Highlands are also just a short drive away for unlimited hiking and incredible mountain views. My personal favorite is hiking with the wild ponies at Grayson Highlands!
We have Firewood available for a nominal fee. Just let us know and we will make arrangements to have it ready for you upon arrival.

focusing on sustainability while giving back to the community. We are a safe haven for animals and humans alike.
Situated on and between two peaks of Little Phoenix Mountain range in Jefferson Ashe County. Our sites’ altitudes range from 3100 feet to over 3600 feet, which is a lot of slope and hillside to say the least. As a guest you will be offered insane long views and wildflowers galore. Located in the Blue Ridge mountains, we have natural water springs popping out, some of which are tapped to drink from. (10.1.25 currently farm springs are not accessible to guests, shatley springs up the road approx 4miles north has a public spring that we highly recommend)
If you are looking for a camping spot that is only 5-10 minutes from town (Jefferson NC or the quaint Downtown West Jefferson) but feels like you're in the middle of no where, then we have it!
The Blue Ridge Parkway is less than 20 minutes away and the New River equally close.

The climb up sunrise mountain is bumpy, be warned, and do adhere to the conversation and guidance of the host on the call or in person meeting preclimb. Even though the section titled “the climb” is passed each and every visit by capable awdr and 4wdr vehicles, this does not mean everyone is capable of picking a thought out path. Thankfully everyone of our guest have been wonderful in the over 8 years with zero damage to their vehicles. MSG for more info.

Location, location! Whitetop Camp is located in the heart of Whitetop, literally just minutes from the start of the Creeper Trail (Whitetop Station), Whitetop Mountain, the Appalachian Trail, National Forest, and Grayson Highlands State Park. Our property is quiet and serene. A lovely creek runs through the property. A gas station/minimart, cafe, post office and library are a walkable distance away for your convenience. Please note for 2026: The Creeper Trail from Whitetop to Damascus is currently CLOSED due to heavy damage from Helene. Hwy. 58 to Damascus is open! You can drive to Damascus and ride the Trail to Abingdon. All other trails and parks in the Whitetop area are OPEN at the time of this writing (March 2026).

The majority of our 440 acres is timber with established trails, but we are also a working farm and we have five ponds and a trout stream throughout the property. We offer tours to guests for $10 per person and we love to introduce you to our farm animals. We provide coffee in our camp store mornings and we offer a community bonfire on Saturday evenings. What an unexpected, hidden gem! I didn't realize that we had booked our own private campsite on top of a mountain surrounded by mountain views. Nestled between a cornfield and on old forest were 2 RV sites - One for us- and the other RV site for friends- so we’ll keep that in mind for the future. It’s a buy one get one free site- so you have the whole place to yourself or bring a friend with a 2nd RV. There’s no bath house or restroom- but there’s a large, beautiful shelter with a concrete floor, picnic tables and 2 large comfortable chairs. Up on the high top in the well packed gravel clearing is a handsome fire pit, with free, chopped wood and 2 Adirondack chairs. The grounds are well maintained. We hoped to arrive by 5pm- but we didn’t arrive until close to 10pm. Steve and Penny were so kind and accommodating. Steve met us at the site at 9:45pm to give us an overview of the grounds.
There’s a 7/10 of a mile hike through an enchanting old forest down to a private lookout over the New River, and the opportunity to grill. We LOVED Peak A View! The peace and privacy is unrivaled. It’s unlike any place we’ve ever stayed, and we look forward to camping here again in the future.

It was a beautiful site! The view of the river and mountains would make an awesome panoramic jigsaw puzzle. Only 6 RV sites, each with electric, water, and sewer. Sites are large and gravel paved. No showers or bathrooms other than what you bring with you. No Wi-Fi and no apparent trash facility. (Not deal killers for me.) It is off the beaten path, but easy enough to find if you follow the yellow signs and take it slow.

Great location with beautiful campsites right along the river! The fire pit placement was a little unusual, with some positioned a bit too close to neighboring sites. That said, the owners were very receptive to feedback and seem genuinely committed to continually improving the campground. Looking forward to seeing how the place evolves!

From the moment we arrived it was absolutely wonderful. Our host met us the gate. The directions to get there were phenomenal, She had a fresh cut flower bouquet on our picnic table. Everything was as pictured and as stated. It’s always nice to not to have any bad surprises when you’re camping. Everything worked really well the electricity, the water the sewer. It was all 100% up to par. The grounds were gorgeous. I highly recommend you checking this Hip Camp out if you’re in the area.

I hesitate to share this because I’d love to keep them a secret! 😆 Penny & Steve are WONDERFUL! Super quick responses and accommodating! The property is beautiful with a Mtn view, deer and turkeys roaming around, a stone fire pit for evening star gazing and a gorgeous trail to the river! This is our favorite HipCamp property ever …no competition!!

Outstanding double campsites with amazing privacy on top of a mountain. Can accommodate any size rigs, although the road in has some tight hairpin turns. Landscaping/site pads/utilities were all immaculate and showed much care and attention. Beautiful hiking trails, benches, water features, and a gazebo. Starlink worked perfectly. Owners were nice and accommodating - a strong storm blew through right after setting up and they made sure we were ok and didnt need anything.
One of the best campsites in NC/VA we've ever been to. Note - while seclusion is part of the allure here, its a solid 30 minute drive to get to most anything else. Stock up before you arrive and relax!
