Beautiful and peaceful property close to Grayson Highlands State Park. We loved sitting out by the pond in the evening to watch the fireflies. The little town of Lansing is also really nice. Will definitely be staying here again!

We had a great experience camping at Drifters Ridge. The campsite is peaceful, well-kept, and surrounded by beautiful scenery—perfect for relaxing and unplugging. The site is spacious, clean, and laid out nicely so you don’t feel crowded. It’s a quiet place at night, which made it easy to enjoy a campfire and get a good night’s rest. Keith and his wife were awesome hosts and made us feel right at home. The kids absolutely loved the tour of the farm and getting to pet the cows—it was a highlight of the trip. The location is convenient to nearby attractions while still feeling tucked away in nature. We’d definitely recommend Drifters Ridge to anyone looking for a laid-back, enjoyable camping experience and will be back again ourselves.

Had a great experience, not far away from West Jefferson or Gratsin Highlands State Park (Virginia). Host was personable and very accommodating. Would definitely recommend staying here. Also has a cabin coming soon on the same property as the camper site. The neighborhood cows were respectful of the morning and didn't start talking until they saw people.

We had the most incredible few nights and have never had such hospitable and lovely hip camp hosts. We had 4 small kiddos and the host greeted us with a smores kit for them which they spoke about all weekend. The gazebo with solar lights and beautiful pond were just magic at night. You are surrounded by mountainous pastures and the host has highland cows/donkeys/chickens etc - our kids highlight was getting pears and apples down from the trees to feed the animals with the campsite host. 10/10 would stay here again and recommend anyone to book in Drifters Ridge.

It is a great little slice of heaven on earth. Keith and his family were wonderful, checked in on me to make sure I had everything I needed. The site is very nice and level. It has its very own little pond with fish and bullfrogs. The farm animals are so docile and would just follow me and my little dog around. I got fresh ends from Keith and also some fire wood. The weather was great and we even saw some deer.
I LOVED the little gazebo !!! It meant i didn't need my screened porch set up and was just perfect for enjoying my morning coffee and evening meals. It was just so peaceful there, I will definitely be staying there again. I highly recommend a stay at Drifter Ridge!!!

We loved Drifter’s Ridge! This site is nestled in the mountains with beautiful views in every direction. We have a 43 foot Class A RV and the site was big enough for our rig and tow car with plenty of room to spare. Keith and Abby are wonderful hosts and are a true example of southern hospitality. We got eggs from their chickens and got to see their Highland Cows and all their other farm animals. It was truly a great experience and we will definitely be back.

We loved this beautiful campsite. It’s nestled in the mountains with beautiful scenery on every side. It’s the perfect place to spend a relaxing weekend. Keith and Abby were wonderful hosts, and we opted in to get some fresh eggs… they were amazing. We camped in our 43 foot Class A and had plenty of room to o set up and for our tow car.

Drifter Ridge near Lansing, NC is pure mountain magic. Perched at 3,232 feet, this breezy 47-acre farm is everything you want in a HipCamp stay—serene, scenic, and soul-soothing. Rolling hills surround you, dotted with grazing highland cows, playful goats, and free-ranging chickens and roosters that add charm and life to every moment.
We stayed on a beautifully maintained concrete RV pad with water and electric hookups, perfectly placed to overlook a tranquil, Walden-esque pond. As we sat outside, bullfrogs croaked in chorus, dragonflies danced across the water, and robins sang from the apple trees. Swallows zipped through the air like tiny acrobats, putting on an aerial show at dusk. It was peaceful, vibrant, and deeply grounding.
What truly sets Drifter Ridge apart are the hosts, Keith and Abbie. Warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about the land, they made us feel like part of something special. Their care for both the farm and their guests shines in every thoughtful detail. They are exactly the kind of hosts who make the HipCamp community so unique.
This is more than a place to park your camper—it’s a place to exhale, reconnect, and rediscover the beauty of simple, quiet moments. We left feeling refreshed, inspired, and already planning our return. Thank you, Keith and Abbie, for sharing this magical slice of mountain paradise.

Drifter Ridge
Keith & his wife were great! We used this site while visiting Grayson Highands State Park since their campground was closed.
We took them up on the firewood, eggs, lamb, and trash removal. Keith came to our rescue with a ladder and tools when our awning decided to get stuck.
The boys really enjoyed fishing in the pond and the basketball hoop. We all enjoyed the fire and playing uno in the gazebo.
We do recommend fighting the urge to feel like you need to back in. There’s plenty of room to unhook and back a truck around.
They were so sweet and gave us a handwritten card thanking us for staying with them along with two new fishing lures for the boys.

We had an amazing trip to Drifter Ridge! The site was beautiful and more amazing than described! Easy to pull straight into the site, so the camper door opens to the beautiful pond and Mountain View’s! I truly can not say enough things about this campsite! Kieth and Abby were great host, and have an amazing piece of property they love to share with others!!

Drifter Ridge
We had such a wonderful stay at Drifter Ridge. The hosts, Abbey and Keith were so warm, welcoming and responsive to all of our questions! This little slice of heaven is a relaxing and peaceful place to stay, but we also enjoyed so many nearby attractions including very scenic drives to endless hiking in Grayson Highlands State Park, downtown Lansing, NC (including Molly Chompers and fly fishing on Big Horse Creek), West Jefferson, NC and Damascus, VA. We were touched by all of the thoughtful amenities at camp, including visiting with their happy little farm animals and the gift of farm fresh eggs! We definitely hope to be back!
