And if the river is low during your visit, feel free to wade across to the other side – Wild Yough owns the entire peninsula of land on the other side of the river and this is also bordered by State land.The river banks are steep on the property, but the fishing for small mouth bass is exceptional. There is a small turn around on the path just beyond Crooked Butt Bench where you can take out your canoe, kayak, or inner tubes after floating the 2+ miles from the Oakland bridge. Just be prepared to walk your water craft back up to the house or Glamping site as there is no motorized access to the river.If you like to lay on the rocks in the sun or take the kids for some wading in the river, the best place is the farthest to walk to. Take the trail to “High Bluff”, then cross the Snyder property line (Permission for trail access only – do not leave trail!), then descend down and cross the bridge across Herrington Manor Creek (a stocked trout stream!). Learn more about this land: This wooded area is 5 miles away from the Ohiopyle State Park whitewater launch area and GAP bike trail. We are less than 9 miles from Frank Lloyd Wright's Classic Fallingwater and about 8 miles from Kentuck Knob one of the last resident homes he designed (both are open for tours). Fort Necessity National Battlefield is 5 miles away. There are numerous native trout streams in the area. Youghiogheny Reservoir is 7 miles away for fishing, boat rentals, and water-sports. The Fern House is the primary camp cabin on the property. Although if someone would want to park a "self contained" camper or small RV on the property we would permit the unit to occupy the area in front of the driveway just pass the entrance gate. It is not within the ferns and is next to the road. There is an electrical outlet available at this small RV or van camper site. We are "nice pet" friendly. Dogs should not be left in the cabin alone. We have a mountain spring (when the spring is running) up the trail road (450 feet away). The ferns will normally be in full glory by the end of May to mid September and are amazing, covering the forest floor. Deer, bear, wild turkey, fox, chipmunks, squirrels and many woodland birds abound the property especially owls. A picnic table, fire ring and firewood is available on the property. Free WiFi on the property as long as the plant life is not too thick! There is a mile hiking loop right on the property and many challenging trails in the area, including the starting point for the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail. No smoking is permitted in the cabin. Our property was a small family farm for several generations. Our family purchased the property about 18 years ago. Since we are not farmers but love living here, the question became "What would be the best use for the land?" Living in a scenic area and already being in the vacation rental business on some other family property answered the question. We decided to share the beautiful view and seclusion of our area with others. Our goal was to keep the cost of building down so that we could pass on the savings to you so that you would not have to be rich to enjoy our lovely area. This inspired the idea of a glamping cabin. The cabin is actually a repurposed office building that was built about the time this property was purchased by our family. We moved it to the present location and completely remodelled it in 2018 and added the bathroom. For 4 years, guests enjoyed an off-the-grid experience. In 2023, when we began work on the glamping dome (stay tuned--coming soon!!), we decided to add electricity, running water, and a hot tub to the tiny house! We hope you enjoy the cabin (and, soon, the dome) and the stunning view from them as much as we enjoy sharing this beautiful spot with you! Note: The Charming Glamping Cabin is at a totally different property. That property also has a section that used to be farmed. Now a lot of it is forest. We purchased the property around 2000. This cabin was built approx. 10 years later. At that point, the cabin was a tiny economy cabin with a sofa bed. However, it seemed most folks preferred comfort over economy, so in 2020, we added a bump-out to the side of the cabin so there would be room for a queen bed. Guests have loved the improvement. The space: If you're looking to escape to the mountains but still enjoy creature comforts and rustic-modern design, the BunkHouse Barn is for you. The home is a restored barn with original features preserved throughout. Experience true WV glamping with a fire pit, jacuzzi, and wrap-around deck in the woods. We also offer ultra-fast fiber-optic internet and A/C for modern comfort. The house comfortably sleeps 6 guests but can accommodate additional guests for a fee. We ask that you respect the $20 per additional person fee for parties larger than 6. Guest access: Guests have full access to the home. The property sits on a private mountain lane with no through traffic. There are approximately 2–3 miles of quiet wooded walking along the lane directly from the house. Other things to note: WINTER RENTERS: You must have 4-wheel or all-wheel drive in the event of snow. Cell service is limited on the mountain. However, there is some AT&T service across the street near our cabin. A guest phone is available in the Bunkhouse for your use. The internet is very fast, and Wi-Fi coverage extends throughout the property. The tap water is filtered and treated and tastes good, so bringing bottled water is optional. 2 nights at Revelle's River Resort

We stayed in Blackbear 2 and the view was incredible. The cabin was a little musty but once the window and screen door was open with the fan going, it was fine. We did end up using our sleep pad on top of the futon for some extra cushion because you could feel the bars when folded out. But it was all worth it for that view. The mini-fridge was bigger than expected and the TV has basic cable. The campground and the staff are lovely. Everyone was welcoming and helpful. The facilities and grounds were clean and there was a lot to do! My daughter enjoyed the playgrounds, playing along the shoreline, riding her bike, playing basketball, and the splash pad (which is fed by a well - so it is not on all the time. They announce the times - usually runs for an hour at a time). She even made a few friends at the playground which is close enough to see from this cabin. It was helpful not having 2 RVs behind us though - it made for clear sight lines to the playground. The camp store is full of basics and fun souvenirs. I realized I still had the cabin key after we were long gone on the way home 😬 I called them to let them know we would mail it and they were very gracious. I would definitely recommend the campground, especially for families. We would stay again on our next trip out for sure.

My review is long, but very honest, please read:) My second stay at Bear Run Farm, and I can honestly say this wonderful place has become my favorite escape from the busy, hectic pace of life. Amber, the host, was incredibly helpful, welcoming, and hospitable. The cabin was cozy, spotless, and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. And the blue lake… absolutely magical! 💙 The water is so clean, refreshing, and peaceful. I call it the Caribbean of West Virginia! 🌴🏞️ What makes Bear Run Farm truly special is the untouched, natural beauty surrounding it. Everywhere you look, there is lush greenery, beautiful trees, peaceful woods, and the feeling of being completely immersed in nature. It feels like a hidden paradise, far away from the noise and stress of everyday life. The peaceful landscape and fresh air make it the perfect place to slow down, breathe deeply, and simply enjoy the beauty of nature. I’m already looking forward to coming back again! ❤️

Rainbow 1 was a perfect retreat for my partner and I during some rainy days. The cabin felt spacious yet cozy for 2. The big tv in the living room was wonderful for gaming and the hot tub out back was lovely. The staff was a delight as well, full of good advice on all manner of topics. We enjoyed our glamping experience! It was nice to have the cabin and running water / toilets near by… we enjoyed hiking all the trails, met a nice couple … when we comeback we won’t stay in the Stanley cabin because cars drove right by our window a few times each night and people were partying at the main building at 2am one night so our sleep was not good

We had a lovely stay! Our cabin area was tidy and very peaceful with the lull of the river in the background. We enjoyed walking to the bridge down the road and exploring the local trails and riverfront. Ample camping amenities: coffee/tea/drinks/wifi available near the office area, plenty of wood/fire starter for those who needed some, and the port a potty was clean. Pro tip: bring your own potable water or a filter. There is plenty of fresh water available, but it's not potable. Vincent was an incredibly accommodating and personable host and you can tell how hard he and his crew work to keep the site in tip-top shape!

They had milk and cheese for sale, unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to rush out the last morni g and did not get to purchase any! The water was blue and refreshing! The kids had an absolute blast in the water, even with the storms rolling through occasionally

If you are debating booking this site, do it. We just spent two days at the waterfront cabin and this has been the most memorable trip. My son and I hail from Chicago and decided to make a detour to this spot on the way to see family in Baltimore. We had such an incredible time on the water and experiencing the beauty of this family’s farm. They were so helpful and accommodating, even lending us fans because we forgot ours at home. I got to spend a lot of time talking to Amber’s husband about their farm and their garden, and they even sent us home with some fresh veggies. Don’t skip out on the farm stand - we bought a lot of creams that Amber made as well as fresh milk and eggs. Waking up to cows at our window was a bonus. Thank you again for a trip my son will never forget!!

1 night at Freedom Run Ranch Equestrian Camp

As soon as we pulled in to freedom run Ranch we knew we would enjoy ourselves. The horses had a great place to stay with big grassy pens and stalls for nighttime in a big old Beautiful barn. The owners were very gracious and helped us with everything. The Cabin is super cute! There are nice places to sit outside in the shade. I would definitely recommend a stay here. Though we only stayed one night, on our trip through the area, we would definitely stay again.

The Waterfront Cabin was the perfect place to camp! Gorgeous view and easy access to a clear blue lake. The cabin was stocked with clean linens, towels, lots of pillows, and other thoughtful items like solar lights, tiki torches, a pop tent that we placed over the picnic table, cornhole boards, cooking equipment, a propane grill, fire pit, and tubes for use in the lake. We loved walking the grounds to see the beauty hidden within this working farm and loved waking up to the cows munching outside the cabin and letting us pet them! Looking forward to returning again!
