This is an 11 acre mountain, and every campsite is designed to give an incredible View of Lake Roosevelt From the property, you could see the backside of the dam on the lake side. The inlet is called Eden Harbor. There’s lake access by foot or a short drive to the other side of the harbor. It’s a great place to go fishing get some sun and relax. Campsite is located close to the town. Where you can buy groceries, ice, get a bite to eat at a restaurant or any other camping essentials you need. It’s also near two different boat ramps for easy boat access. We are pet friendly with rules that need to be followed as a pet owner. You take full responsibility for your own pets. Sagebrush Hollow

1 site · RV, Tent6 acres · Chelan, WA
Come relax and enjoy the views of the Columbia River and the North Cascades. Plenty of sunshine with epic sunsets, our property is where you come to unwind and soak in the sun when the east side of the Cascades is socked in with clouds and rain. If you want to explore the area, it's about a 10-minute car ride to the Columbia River and 20 minutes to Chelan and all that is offered there. Our favorite activities when we visit are to listen to the birds chirp and take in the surroundings. There are several lava rock piles that speak to the long and volcanic geological history of the area. We also really enjoy walking the dirt road on the ridge. It provides some of the most incredible views in the area. The dirt road section over the ridge can be a little rough and dusty and it's recommended that guests have a medium clearance vehicle, such as a Subaru Outback. However, a guest once drove their Honda Civic down to the site, so it really depends on your comfort level. If in doubt, just ask! We have a security camera on site we use for wildlife sightings and to check the weather. If the idea of having the camera bothers you, feel free to place a blanket or some other type of cover during your stay. We can also turn the camera to only face the entrance. Just let us know. Please respect the surroundings and others' property. There are several other vacation cabins in the area and everyone enjoys their peace and quiet. We provide a privy for guests to use, but be prepared to pack out waste in case it doesn't meet your standards. We try to keep it clean and stocked with TP, but we can only get out to the land every few weeks. If you're looking for peace and tranquility, Sagebrush Hollow is the place for you.

Interesting fact: Our homestead is located on the McConihe Flats. 1200 years ago the Sinkiuse Indians would meet on the McConihe Flats and trade. They would also collect things along the shore of the lake such, as duck eggs and reeds, which are still around today. We are conveniently located between Moses Lake and Ephrata Washington. Whistlin' Pine Ranch Resort

15 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents500 acres · Pateros, WA
Exquisitely beautiful area formed by melting glaciers forming the "Alta Coulee". The campground is situated at the South end of Alta Lake, opened in 1946 and operated by my Grandparents until 1980 when my father decided to continue operations, adding Outfitting and Guide services into the Pasayten and Sawtooth Wilderness areas. Covid put a halt on business for a few years but we are making some gradual upgrades and changes to offer camping and horseback riding experiences again. The lake is 220 acres known to Anglers near and far. Plenty of room for the sunseekers wanting to play in the water on paddle boards, kayaks, jet skis, and water skiing. An 18-hole Golf Course resides at the North end of the lake and white water rafting just a few miles down the hill on the Methow River. We will offer guided horseback rides by the hour on site for the season 2024. Must book in advance. Free Wifi available near the office only.

Henderson Homestead

3 sites · Lodging, Tents50 acres · Chelan, WA
We do not take late comers as we are a farm and are early to bed and early to rise. I'm sorry! We are the third generation in this location and the great grandparents had the adjoining property. My father was born and died in this house, and I was raised here also. After teaching for 32 years my husband and I inherited the farm from my folks who have since passed. There are no orchards left on the property but we are moving on with a vegetable and flower garden, goats, chickens and a llama. We have a gorgeous view of Lake Chelan but can only offer dry camping at this time. Our area has a multitude of things to do!

The best camping near Steamboat Rock State Park guide

Overview

About

The best of both worlds reside here— beautiful scenery along with a bird's eye view of the Grand Coulee Dam.

Whether you call it a "mesa," "butte" or "rock," the 800 ft. elevation and 600 acres of Steamboat Rock offers some primo hiking. Thanks to the Ice Age doing some hefty craftwork, the landscape includes tons of columnar, basaltic rock.

Explore 50,000 feet of Banks Lake freshwater shoreline. You can also choose from activities like skiing, ice climbing, horse riding, and more.

Boats are welcome to dock here with dock and boat-in campsites to take advantage of. There is also a variety of standard campsites, full-hookup sites, and cabins along with separate showers and bathrooms. It's rightfully a popular place to be, so always make sure to call at least a month or so in advance to reserve a camping spot.

Notable campgrounds

  • Northrup Canyon: Offers equestrian-friendly sites for a unique camping experience amid nature.
  • Main Campground: Features a range of sites from primitive to full hookups, ensuring comfort for all campers.
  • Cabins: Provides cozy accommodations for those seeking a more contained outdoor retreat.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  • Book early, especially for peak season from April 1 to October 31, to secure your preferred spot.
  • Consider mid-week stays for better availability and a quieter camping experience.
  • Keep an eye on cancellations for last-minute opportunities to reserve a campsite.
  • Explore nearby camping options to maximize your chances of finding a great site.

When to go

The best time to visit Steamboat Rock State Park is during the spring and fall when the weather is mild and the natural beauty is at its peak. Summer offers warm days perfect for water activities, though it can get quite hot. Winter camping is available, but prepare for cooler temperatures and limited services.

Know before you go

  • Check burn bans and ensure fires are only in designated pits and grills.
  • Water may be turned off to campsites during off-season, so plan accordingly.
  • Remember to purchase a Discover Pass for park access, available annually or daily.
  • Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash at all times within the park.
  • Accessible facilities are available, including campsites, restrooms, and trails.
