Neat experience, cool area
We enjoyed the setting this camp is in.
Alta Lake was beautiful and so were the surrounding ridges. My family had an unforgettable horseback ride, going into the canyon area for 2 hours and encountering an unbelievable variety of wildlife. The pricing was reasonable and the showers were clean and orderly. The lake made for good swimming and the cabins were large and spacious.
Some things to be aware of: the portapotties were frequently out of toilet paper, so bring your own. Also, this camp has an intentionally rustic feel, but some things were a little too rustic. Benches were loose and wobbly, and the cabins needed repairs. Ours had a canvas flap in lieu of a door, a window which had been replaced with plywood (making the interior quite dark), and holes in the wall. Some holes were made for ventilation while others looked to be from some sort of damage, but we did wake up with bats flying around our faces in the top bunks. They’re harmless, but again, just something to be aware of if this isn’t the experience you're seeking.
