You don’t have to go to New Zealand to stay in a hobbit house! Hand-built by our family, this cozy in-hill cabin located in the lower area of our property is something right out of a Tolkien novel. Very LGBTQ+ And BIPOC friendly.
This one room Hobbit Hole has everything in it's
7.5x15.5' (cozy): Comfy convertible bed/couch complete with linens, a small table with 2 chairs for playing games and eating, puzzles, games, snacks, hot water kettle, coffee maker, bluetooth speaker, electric fireplace, books, sketchpad with colored pencils, and more!
A rustic wooden floor (with some paint splatters) and a braided rug give you a feeling of comfort and home.
On site we have a private portable bathroom complete with hand-washing station, and an outside combination fire pit and charcoal barbecue with a grill top and s’mores sticks provided so you can cook over a wood fire or coals!
And an outdoor table and chairs that are super comfortable!
The house itself is heated, insulated, and has working electricity/outlets for computer or phone charger.
Clean bedding and pillows provided, washed in fragrance-free detergent between each guest.
We provide a full water jug with spigot, hot water kettle, teapot, assorted teas and 2 mugs.
Private area of the yard with plenty of room to relax.
We have a disc golf goal and discs to use as well.
Firewood is available for purchase onsite for $10/milk crate full. This comes with a kindling kit. Territorial views of the tree line and sunset views to die for! We are located near Meigs Park as well as a 10-minute walk from Manitou beach and an easy bike ride to the ferry that goes to Seattle!

NEED TO KNOW (managing expectations):A note on the bathroom: the hobbit hole is small and will not fit a bathroom or plumbing. Your nearby private portable restroom is cleaned thoroughly between each guest and serviced (pumped out) weekly.
We consider our listing to be “glamping”. Also our property borders a local 2 lane highway and you can expect road noise mostly during the day and evening.
While it is a private setting you can expect to hear the road.
Weekends and evenings it is quieter, and when the door is closed it is quiet.
The Hobbit House is suitable for 2 guests or 2 adults and a small child that can share the bed.
The bed is a queen size, and we can't allow sleeping on the floor as the door opens inwards and is a safety concern.
However, additional guests are welcome to bring a tent and camp outside, for $20/tent, up to 6 additional guests or 2 tents, whichever is smaller.
Let me know when you are booking that you'd like to bring additional guests and we will adjust the costs accordingly.

This is a stand alone structure that is separate from our main house. There is no shower in this dry space, but there is a camping sink that functions like a normal kitchen sink with hot water capacity. The shed has an easy to use composting toilet with clear instructions if you’re a first timer. Also, “Ms Pacman's Backyard Glampsite” is a converted shed, so be ready for some lower ceilings and narrow spaces. The lofted full bed is cozy, so don’t bob your head on the way out! The bed has a six inch memory foam mattress with extra blankets and pillows available. Everything is washed with free and clear laundry detergent for any sensitivities.
We provide a small refrigerator, a 2 burner stove with pots and pans for light cooking, coffee making supplies (reusable keurig pods or pour over coffee along with creamers and sugars), wine openers, dishes, and more. We have 2 tables where you can enjoy meals and games either indoors or outdoors.
You will be one block away from Highland Park which has a tennis court and baseball field. Less than a mile north, you can explore the West Duwamish Greenbelt Trails. Only two blocks south of the property is Westcrest Park that hosts a community garden, a dog park, and small trails in their greenbelt. You’re also walking distance to downtown White Center, which has a microbrewery, a roller skating rink, a gay bar, a plant store, and plenty of coffee shops and restaurants.

You are responsible for any damage or injuries caused by a fire you start, so please be careful!

There is no outdoor music at any time. Quiet hours are 8 pm to 10 am.
There is no picnic table or any amenities, but you can fill up water at our barn if needed.
DO NOT USE THE WOODS AS A BATHROOM. It is necessary to bring your own latrine.
The water at (shallower) Dockton Park (about a 6 min drive away) gets warm from swimming in summer if you prefer it to 54 degree deep water here!
Please clean up after your pet. Dogs must be leashed AT ALL TIMES in the field. If no one is around at the beach, they can be off leash, but leash up if anyone approaches until they pass. Please never leave your dog unattended outside where barking will disturb the peace.

The Hobbit House is suitable for 2 guests or 2 adults and a small child that can share the bed.
The bed is a queen size, and we can't allow sleeping on the floor as the door opens inwards and is a safety concern.
However, additional guests are welcome to bring a tent and camp outside, for $20/tent, up to 6 additional guests or 2 tents, whichever is smaller.

Fires may be allowed AT THE BEACH, below the high tide line, between October 1 and June 15, but there are various reasons they may not be allowed (air quality bans, windy conditions, etc.)Any fire you light must be put out COLD (no steam, no heat) with water and buried with sand before leaving them unattended. You are responsible for any damage or injuries caused by a fire you start, so please be careful!
Please note: It is very important that the number of people on site is accurate. Please contact Hipcamp to change the number of people. There is an additional charge per person above the base 2 person rate.
There is no outdoor music at any time. Quiet hours are 8 pm to 10 am.
There is no picnic table or any amenities, but you can fill up water at our barn if needed.
DO NOT USE THE WOODS AS A BATHROOM. It is necessary to bring your own latrine.
The water at (shallower) Dockton Park (about a 6 min drive away) gets warm from swimming in summer if you prefer it to 54 degree deep water here!
Please clean up after your pet. Dogs must be leashed AT ALL TIMES in the field. If no one is around at the beach, they can be off leash, but leash up if anyone approaches until they pass. Please never leave your dog unattended outside where barking will disturb the peace.

3 sisters and our brother in law decided we wanted to make a place where people can enjoy the Northwest that we grew up in. It doesn't matter if you bring your own tent, drive an rv, or rent the luxury tent, the great outdoors is there for all to enjoy!
We have great places to pitch your own tent and enjoy the rustic pleasures just being outdoors. The sites are rustic and access to trails are nearby. We also have a wonderful covered outdoor kitchen with propane grill, microwave, and coffee pot. A safe place to gather with family.
Bring your RV and park and have a large site to yourself. You have room to spread out your awning without hitting the next vehicle. Each site has its own picnic table and fire ring. Also if you are in the mood you have a covered kitchen to meet and mingle with other guests. We also have a big screen tv in the kitchen so you don't miss the Seahawks games.

Our guests love staying here "This site has absolutely everything you need. You'll want to bring your own shampoo and conditioner, but I think that was the only things I noticed I'd want. They even had firewood for us, no extra charge! David, his wife, and everyone else that helps maintain the property were SO sweet and welcoming. Seems like it would be a lovely place to stay in the winter, so thats when I'd like to come back! 5 stars all the way for everything here, the thoughtfulness of the cabins, the cleanliness, the readily available kitchen and the hospitality. You NEED to check this place out."

Just North of us is the heart of the Woodinville Wineries, You can walk on the back trail to Chateau Ste Michelle Winery Concerts and the surrounding Wineries and the Baseball fields. To the South on the Sammamish River Trail is 60 acres soccer fields and Marymore park (within biking distance)

Grassy areas, shade, sun, walking trails - your only problem will be where to hang out! This Hipcamp is the most beautiful Hipcamp that I've camped at. The view is incredible at sunset and sunrise. The campsite is huge allowing big RVs and group camping. It is also really private. Highly recommend!

Amazing views and privacy. Easy to access, and the beach and lighthouse give fun areas to explore nearby. We saw geese, ducks, and dear around the property. We got lucky for a nice sunny March weekend, I imagine this spot gets popular as the weather gets nicer.

Absolutely marvelous in every way. The tent set is sturdy and cozy, the bed and futon are comfy and warm, the yard is expansive and despite being within site of the residence, it is and feels private. The fact that we had the field to ourselves too was wonderful for my two dogs. There was plenty of room to run around and sniff, and bc the property is so peaceful they were comfortable enough to relax in the yard off leash.
Charnie is as wonderful a host as her property is a place to disconnect and relax. Her communication is impeccable and she is very accommodating and welcoming.
Lessons learned:
- Pack less! Charnie really does provide so many essentials, and the hill that you have to walk down is a decent hike so I will make my life easier and bring less stuff next time.
- Cook simple things. The stove is free standing (as opposed to being built into a hearth) so heat escapes fast meaning you’ll need more wood to keep something consistently hot (like the stew I decided to make - could have used to the propane stove though).
- Buy my own wood along the way. I ended up pilfering through Charnie’s family stock quite a bit for cooking and heating, next time I’ll bring my own to lessen how much of theirs I have to take.
- the cooler is big! I used three 3lbs bags of ice for two nights.
- stay three nights next time! One full day is not nearly enough time to get the most out of this wonderful set up!

Pro Tip: Take the south ferry back and go through the Sea-Tac Rest Area if you need to dump RV tanks.

We had a great time on Simona's farm! The cabin was just the right size for my tween + I to stay cozy. The amenities and set up were as-advertised. We enjoyed meeting the animals and hearing all about the farm and how each one got there. Simona was very welcoming, and responded quickly and thoroughly to our questions. Would love to return in the warmer seasons.

About
Don’t let the leafy maples and stately Douglas firs fool you—Manchester State Park is more than a forested coastal retreat. The brick structure in the northern reaches once housed firing triggers for a vast field of underwater landmines (torpedoes), established in the early 20th century to protect the nearby Bremerton shipyard. Other relics of this bygone history—including an unused gun battery and one of the warehouses that stored the torpedoes—are sprinkled throughout the park and used now as event space for weddings and events. The park beach (that’s what you’re here for, right?) is a wild coastline rather than a sandy expanse, complete with barnacle-covered boulders, tide pools, and the occasional bark of a sea lion (it’s also popular with scuba divers). Views out across Rich Passage showcase Seattle and Bainbridge Island.
