Located only a 5 minute drive to Mayfield Lake in Lewis County, our property is a rustic retreat from the hustle and bustle. There are plenty of outdoor exploration opportunities in the area. We have 5 acres with a great camping spot with a fire pit nestled among large evergreen trees. The tress provide shade in the summer months. For bird lovers and botanists, we have left our land native with grass lands among the trees. We have local osprey, eagles, and falcons as well as doves, owls, cickadees, woodpeckers, robins, etc. We also have local deer that travel through the land, and mostly leave us humans alone.

Learn more about this land: We are a 501c3 Farm Sanctuary! We care for 70+ farm animals. You can follow us @onalaskafarmsanctuary on Facebook or Instagram. The camping area is nowhere near the animals or the rescue. But it does help support them! Our 45 acre parcel is "no frills camping" 15 minutes from Interstate 5. We are one hour from Mt Rainer and one hour and fifteen minutes from Mt Saint Helens. The camping area is an old christmas tree farm. We maintain two spots for camping. We have one porta-potty shared between campsites. Each campsite has one picnic table, fire-ring and access to a porta-potty. The area is quiet and secluded. Black-tailed Columbian deer are regular visitors, while the barn owls will serenade you in the evening. You will be able to see ALL the stars!  The road is suitable for small RVs, campervans, truck camping, small school buses, and cars (as long as the cars have some ground clearance). Not suitable for Class A RVs. It is an old logging road made of compacted rock. Cell service is OK. Upload/download speeds might be slow.

5.6mi from Mayfield Lake Park · 1 site · Tent, RV
One thousand feet of creek side camping, featuring an active Bald Eagle nest and spa-like amenities make Kearney Creek Retreat a unique, comfortable, and relaxing get-away for family and friends. Cold plunge in the creek, commune with our bee colony, view the eagle family, and try to find our parrot, Hercules, in the magnificent walnut tree that our great-grandmother planted over 100 years ago. Along the creek, you will find conveniences such as two cooking grills, a fire pit and benches, a sink with a rubble drain, pavers to the creek, and lots of space to set up your lawn games, tent, or RV. Heated outdoor showers, a six-person hot tub, an additional fire pit with seating, and a well-appointed outhouse dot the camp boundary and ensure that you will enjoy all the comforts while making great memories. Midway between Portland and Seattle, Kearney Creek is just 20 minutes off I-5 and 20 minutes from numerous boating, fishing, and swimming opportunities. We are just 90 minutes to Mt St Helen's, Mt Rainier, the Pacific Coast, and the Eastside so make this your base camp and go play! P.S. Your friendly neighbor to the south is my sister Shannon. She works from home so you may see her pass through her backyard from time to time. Please split the yard with her and remain on your side? She'll do the same for you. Rest assured, the hot tub, etc. are exclusively for your use.

This is a gorgeous park-like RV campground situated between the trees of the arboretum. No tents, please. Also we have NO public restrooms. Beautiful view of the mountains and forests here in western Washington. We are close to Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier and several lakes. There are walking trails all around the site. The 12 acre campground is located on a 136 acre property that is an active Christmas tree farm. Trails continue throughout the tree farm. Many trails have a view of the Tilton River, which can be reached via a challenging 3/4 mile trail. Sites are on 10 acres planted with many different species of trees that are about 30 years old. Giant Redwoods, Cedars, and Maples are just a few of the varieties present. Part of the farm is still a working Christmas tree farm. The trails are wide and grassy. The old logging road that we use as a trail to the river has an elevation change of about 500 feet, the trail can be quite challenging. Bear Creek empties into the Tilton river at the end of the trail. There is an ART GALLERY where you can learn to pound flowers, see the host's artwork and get a cup of coffee! This is upstairs above the shop, right on the property. Tilton River Studio Gallery. Three sites have electrical hookups. Every site has a water spigot (use a pressure regulator if you want to hook up). No restrooms or sewer hookups. Garbage disposal site available Memorial Day to Labor Day. We look forward to hosting you!

7.1mi from Mayfield Lake Park · 3 sites · Tents, RVs
Pleasant Places campground is clean, quiet, spacious, and private with lots of nooks for R& as well as ample space for play and activities. It is an ideal location for large groups and in order to keep camp as a single site, largeer groups are given preference. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest, and farm, there is something of interest for everyone. In camp you will find a rustic kitchen, two 6' picnic tables, and a fire pit with accessories. There is a resource area near the house with an electrical outlet and a Flexzilla water hose, so bring containers. We have really nice firewood bundles as well as fresh eggs for sale and lawn games, hammocks, etc., available for rent. While the campsite, play field, and driveway loops are mowed, most of the grounds are wild, so bring your tromping shoes. Birdsong comes early here, and the night is filled with the sounds of crickets. No city lights, so the stargazing is wonderful. The goats are gentle, curious, and deep body scratch lovers. The chickens and ducks are not hands-on but some, especially the ducks, will eat out of your hands. The local fauna include deer, skunk, coyote, rabbit, weasel, and possum--bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out and keep the lid on the compost. While there isn't water on the property, Mayfield, Ike Kinswa, and Riffe lakes are all 20-30 minutes from here and provide lots of boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Carlisle Lake offers walking trails, outdoor exercise equipment, fishing, summer concerts, and a playground, and is just a five-minute drive from camp. We are midway between Portland and Seattle and just 15 minutes off of I-5 making Pleasant Places a perfect meet-in-the-middle location. Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, the East Side, and the Pacific Coast are all day trips, just an hour or two from here. We are Judy and Summer and Chula, mother and daughter and dog, and we are pleased you are considering a stay with us. If you do book, we are certain you’ll enjoy making Pleasant Places your outdoor home-away-from-home. Hope to see you on the farm! PS Looking for a bit more comfort while camping?
