Cedar Bloom

157 sites 路 Lodging, RVs, Tents100 acres 路 Cave Junction, OR
Cedar Bloom was purchased in the spring of 2017 by Spirit Weavers Gathering as a place of peace and healing, for all walks of life. Spirit Weavers is an annual women's gathering which happens once a year each June. We host over 1,200 women in just two weeks on the land. Our beautiful forested land is located in Southern Oregon, in a small town off the 199 Redwood Highway. The land which we call home is 100 acres of beautiful protected forest and sits upon a mile of the Illinois River. We are very fortunate to be surrounded by a widely diverse population of flora and fauna. As caretakers of this sacred land, we feel a strong responsibility to honor our plant and animal allies by not only protecting them and their habitat, but also to help educate others about what lives and grows here by providing people with opportunities to experience the beauty of these plants and animals for themselves. For this reason, We are honored to host the many different groups who will gather here on this land for learning and communing with the nature that flourishes here. We feel very fortunate to be involved in this process of helping promote a sustainable and abundant future for all living things on this planet by sharing knowledge and skills from the human past that can make a sustainable lifestyle a reality for everyone everywhere. This is our home and we are happy to share it with you!

At the time of writing this, we have a momma and her two fawns, a young buck that likes to rest behind our shop, three different turkeys with their young ones in tow, song birds galore, lively grey squirrels and the occasional bunny running through. Most of them love to come to our apple tree where we always leave them water in the summer. People who have stayed here always rave about the beautiful and idyllic setting. We are just getting started on HipCamp, but we have lots of great reviews from Airbnb and Vrbo if you want to check out what others have said. Creekside Campground

4 sites 路 RVs, Tents5 acres 路 Rogue River, OR
Hi we鈥檙e Lindsay and Tommy, we are in our second season of being Hipcamp hosts and we want to share our beautiful property with campers looking for a quiet, cozy, family oriented experience. We took our love for the outdoors to the next level a few years ago when we moved out to the country. We think we found a gem of a spot on Evans Creek in Southern Oregon. Our years of camping adventures in dispersed countryside, state parks filled to capacity, and private campgrounds has given us a unique appreciation for the outdoors and an outlook on family camping you just might enjoy. We always enjoyed the camaraderie and kindness that we found with fellow campers; so we just figured, why not make our own campsites and share them with like minded folks and families. We love it here, and we hope you will too. We are located in Evans Valley just 5 miles off interstate 5. Our Property boasts of mature shade trees along Evans Creek, tranquil locations on the creek bed and a plethora of wildlife year round. Our secure, family friendly location is perfect for a road trip stop over or as a base camp for your other Southern Oregon Adventures. All sites have their own access to the Creek - so no one will be going through your site, and all campers have access to the common areas without going through your site either...so rest easy, and relax at the Creekside Campground. -Things to know before booking- Our mission is to provide a safe, quiet, fun, and family friendly camping experience. Please review the rules section carefully and make sure the experience you are looking for lines up with what we are offering. Drunken behavior, drug use, and partying are not part of what we offer and that behavior will be removed immediately (luckily, we have not had this situation, we just like to be very clear on our expectations.) Watch out for wildlife! Elk, deer, eagles, heron, turtles, ducks, and geese (to name a few) are regulars to your campsite. A covered wash station is provided for giving those wiped out dishes a final rinse. Water spigots with delicious well water are provided at each camp spot. Trash can and a porta-potty (serviced regularly) is tucked away in the common area. Horseshoes is set up for anyone to enjoy, and feel free to bring your own yard game activities. Our large open meadow, available for all of our campers, is about an acre of fun for stargazing, softball, bocci ball, frisbee, catch, and hanging out. Also we have a shady game area set up next to the meadow under the oaks with corn hole, giant jenga and some water misters to beat the heat - enjoy as you will! All sites have the option to add a tent and additional people, just check out the "extras" when booking. If you want to keep up to date with all things happening at the Creekside Campground, like special events, projects, upgrades, and of course wildlife be sure to follow us on Instagram @creekside_hosts Whether your floating the Rogue, wine tasting, mountain biking, ziplining, or passing through on a family vacation, we have the safe, spacious, campsite for you, your friends, and family. Hope to meet you soon.

The best camping near Valley of the Rogue State Park guide

Overview

About

Sandwiched between the Rogue River and Interstate 5, the compact Valley of the Rogue State Park offers camping, hiking, and easy access to Southern Oregon's Rogue River, a favorite for fishing and rafting. The Valley of the Rogue State Campground offers a mix of RV sites, tent sites, and yurts, plus group camping areas that can accommodate up to 25 people each. It's also a good jumping-off point for exploring area parks and attractions, and is only a 15-minute drive from the optical illusions at the Oregon Vortex.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. The 157 sites and eight yurts at Valley of the Rogue State Park can be reserved online or over the phone through Oregon State Parks. Slots open at 6am, six months in advance, and can be booked up to a day in advance.
  2. Last-minute reservations are sometimes available in person, on a first-come, first-served basis. Be prepared to show up early, and to potentially have to wait for a site to open up.
  3. If you don鈥檛 have a lot of flexibility, you can set an availability alert online for specific sites and dates.

When to go

The campground is at its busiest between Memorial Day and Labor Day, when temperatures are at their warmest and rainfall is less likely. Rafting in the area is particularly popular in July and August, due to a combination of warm, dry weather and lower water levels. September still tends to stay pretty warm and dry, at least until the end of the month, and visiting in mid-September isn鈥檛 a bad idea if you want to beat crowds but still catch good weather.

Know before you go

  • You can get basic groceries and supplies in Gold Hill, a 10-minute drive from the campground, or do a more extensive shop in the city of Grants Pass, a 15-minute drive away.
  • The campground office is open on the opposite side of the I-5 from the park and walking there takes about half an hour (though it's only a three-minute drive away). Hours are limited, so it鈥檚 wise to call ahead.
  • Pets on leashes are welcome, and four of the yurts are pet-friendly.
