In addition to our cozy cabin we also offer a stay in the bunk house attached to the barn. This space offers 3 rooms, a wood stove, microwave, 2 queen beds and 2 twin bed, a spacious living room and dining area. The bunk house is on the lower part of the pond, making it more accessible as parking is right at the door. There are private camp sites for guests who prefer to pitch a tent or park their van or RV. There's a portable toilet on site seasonally for guests staying on the lower half of the farm. We can accommodated small respectful groups of campers looking for a quiet stay in nature. We currently have a one-room, wood stove warmed, cozy sleeping loft for one or two - with two benches below on either side of room - for two sleeping bags; plus, a separate 22 foot Sioux tipi with two cots. There are two chairs in the tipi, which if removed at night, make floor room for four other sleeping bags. 'Forest Bathing' for miles! If you're a larger group booking Salamander Hollow main camp with its Sleeping Library, Tipi & Slovenian Beehive House, you might consider renting this additional Tiny Cabin want to entertain all in glamping style, utilizing its amenities; as well, providing another bathroom/shower and guest bedroom for those who prefer being indoors while in the great outdoors. Note that Kula Bata Tiny Cabin abuts the wheelchair accessible larger bathroom/shower which is available to those at the Salamander Hollow main camp, yet you are secluded with your own private entry points and private bathroom. A ten minute drive takes you to the parking area to hike up Tully Mountain. There is a grill, wood fired pizza oven, two fire pits and a hygienic Incinolet electric toilet on the property for night convenience, with small camp sinks for washing & teeth brushing. Take a short hike off the property to organic Chase Hill Farm for milk, eggs, seasonal veggies, grass fed meat and other goodies. Say hello to their cows, chickens, pigs, goats, pups and kids. Nestled across the road from Salamander Hollow is Timber Haven Farm, where you can schedule your pickup of bacon and eggs, while loading up on delicious Owl Energy Bars for your adventurous excursions. For those interested in the glamping side of camping, you will enjoy a remote rustic experience with a few creature comforts to keep you well read, clean and fed. Please bring your own bedding - pillows, sleeping bags, comforter, teddy bears.There is a wall mounted blue tooth car radio/CD player in Sleeping Library, so bring your pre-digital favorites. Classical CDs to listen to. Lots of eclectic books to peruse.Walkie talkies, a set of 4, are available upon request. Chess & poker sets, too. Electric 2-burner stovetop and griddle upon request. Bring fire-starters/newspaper for tinder. We suggest if you are staying more than a night or two in winter, you bring supplemental wood or we can direct you to a nearby stand. An established Western facing four point sacred Medicine Wheel site being established on Askari Ridge - our name for the slope starting with the two fire pits - 'Askari' being Swahili for night guard. Here is where we envision a great touch-point area for those leading groups to be for a base-camp by day or night, where eventually a multi-use tenting platform/performance stage will be constructed for outdoor entertainment, creating an authentic 'stadium style' seating on the hill. I had a lovely stay at the Forest Hut. It was a cold and rainy night but just the retreat I needed. The stay was just as Hannah described it in the listing. I also purchased a tincture at the apothecary shop! I enjoyed exploring the nearby area too including Three Sisters Sanctuary and the Bridge of Flowers

Weekend Trip to Salamander Hollow Healing Habitat

We celebrated some Sweet Sixteens with 6 teens who had a blast during their stay at the Beehive Cabin, Sleep Library & Tipi while the grownups enjoyed the comforts of the fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and sauna at the tiny cabin down the hill. We gathered for a pizza party, made campfire s'mores and explored the easily accessible hiking trails and a great farm stand within walking distance. Mary is an exceptional host who has thought of everything to make her guests comfortable. She is very communicative and provides a lot of information about what to expect and do during your stay. Such a peaceful place to unplug and connect with nature and one another. We are also happy that we brought some delicious honey home to keep enjoying the experience!

Weekend Trip to Salamander Hollow Healing Habitat

This is a fantastic and unique place, and the host is the most helpful, considerate, and accommodating person, who made our stay truly unforgettable! She answered every single question with a gazillion of suggestions which truly helped plan the trip better - e.g. she suggested that we eat lunch at the Apple Hill Farm or do a hike to the nearby reservoir and to Mt. Grace next day. Sleeping in the cozy beehive was very pleasant and safe, no need to worry about the bees - they indeed mind their business and don't get into the house. The table next to the pizza oven outside offers amazing opportunities for group meals. The farm stand shop 10 min away offers a great variety of food for breakfast. I recommend planning what to bring to this place for cooking - wood, coal, utensils (knives, spoons, forks, spatulas) - assume you need to have everything from home for your comfort - there are only few things available, and we were notified about this in advance. Also be ready for a short 2 min walk to the bathroom with a flashlight if late, - the bathroom with shower is located in a different house. It was a fabulous experience, and Mary deserves "the best host" medal! I will recommend this to every friend!

2 nights at Atland Artist Residency

The cabin is incredibly cute and comfortable, on beautiful land. It is well stocked - including nice touches like a hooded cotton robe, comfy bedding, a tiny coffee maker, a headlamp, and a tarot deck :) I could imagine that the loft could be difficult for some people to maneuver in and out of if they have any mobility issues, but I found it super cozy. My favorite thing was the outdoor shower. Wow, so lovely. And the outhouse is even pretty and tastefully decorated! A lounge chair near the cabin would have been really sweet, but overall the stay was absolutely wonderful. The hosts were welcoming, helpful, and kind. I highly recommend AtLand and hope to return!

Healing ï's a great word. I take sleeping pills and it's become an addiction but I didn't need them here. We rented the whole property and I would highly recommend this if you need to think or relax and just have privacy.

Beautiful tiny cabin. They’ve done big things with a small space. The little touches were clearly thought out including a heater and fan, ear plugs, and plenty of utensils/kitchen ware to eat and make coffee. They also have a new outdoor bathroom! Rustic but cozy, functional, and clean experience. Would do again.

Wonderful spot for bird-watching! Expand your life list. Feels like you are far away from everything on the island, but you can be back on land in 10 minutes. Hosts Mary and Ingo were super accommodating. Ingo kindly even helped me to get the canoe back to the island after capsizing in a wind gust! Good news—I was a much better paddler by the end of my stay. It was raining a good bit of the time, but it didn’t slow the birds down and was a great background for reading actual printed books! Also, lots of games and activities in the cabin. Being early May, it was cold. An extra layer of clothing and a good sleeping bag made all the difference. I live nearby and have been jealously eying the cabin for 40 years. Thanks to Mary and Ingo for bringing the dream alive!

Weekend Trip to The Cabin

What a beautiful spot — with a breathtaking view. Very quiet, and a perfect place to write. Watched a bluebird hunt insects right outside my window. Then I woke up early to listen to the dawn birdsong, one of those things I’d always wanted to do, Wood thrushes and hermit thrushes among the many singers — those are my absolute favorites. Julie is the most wonderful host!!

We had such a wonderful stay here! The cabin was so cozy, a perfect size for two (and a dog), and had great amenities. The sauna was our favorite part! So much to do too! You can spend your time relaxing around the cabin, exploring the surrounding trails and farms, or visiting the nearby town. We will definitely be back!

My family had a WONDERFUL stay at Two Herons Farm! Our baby daughter was delighted to interact with the sheep, goats, ponies, cows, chickens, guinea pigs, dogs, cat, and more!!! The farm was a great store with cool, local gifts. The cabin was really comfortable and private. The hosts, Molly and Diego, were incredibly generous and helpful. We were fortunate to tag along with Diego while he feed various animals, felt like a cool behind-the-scenes tour. We've stayed in dozens of Airbnbs/Hipcamps over the years, and this was by far our favorite. Highly recommend!!!

We had a lovely relaxing getaway. Quiet mornings on the back porch sipping coffee while our 16 month old wandered around - following the dog. We would forest bath/hike in the afternoons & enjoy sessions in the sauna while baby naps. Fires & wine warmed us as we reflected about our days under the moon lit sky. This place is so cozy and are grateful for our time spent here.
