We warmly welcome visitors who come to this beautiful area of Western Massachusetts with or without their companion animals. Now in its 12th year, Cavalier Cottage has clearly answered a need for genuinely pet-friendly accommodations. Nestled at the base of the Charlemont hills and located on a very quiet country road, Cavalier Cottage is appointed with everything you’ll need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. More than one guest has commented that the cottage and its setting seem to have a special air of tranquility that works a kind of magic: Most pets settle right in with no sense of strangeness, and their human companions find themselves absorbing the atmosphere of peace in their surroundings.A 630 square foot studio apartment with a private entrance offers guests all the amenities of home. It features a large, bright, comfortable living area with ceiling to floor windows, laminate oak flooring, a queen size bed with deluxe Simmons Beautyrest plush-firm mattress, Dish TV with over 200 channels including Netflix, Amazon, (Acorn (the best of British TV), MHZChoice, Britbox, Topic, SundanceNow) -through the Amazon portal via the 32″ smart TV, a strong Wi-Fi connection (we now have Broadband finally!), I-Pod jack, CD player and air conditioning. Try your hand again at classic board games, backgammon or card games. Mini library and CD selection of mellow jazz and classical music. Bathroom with shower featuring cruelty-free body wash, magnify make-up mirror, soaps and ample quality towels. Large fully equipped kitchen, should you want to prepare meals or snacks, with a full size oven and refrigerator, eat-in dining area, microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster, mini food processor, waffle maker, slow cooker, a selection of teas, Pierce Brothers Cafe blend organic coffee, hot chocolate, jams, cold and hot cereals for your enjoyment. An air purifier that functions 24/7. Cozy fleece sheets for cooler temperatures. Blankets for the 4-leggeds as well as dog bowls.

Private. ALL breeds are welcome. Dogs are totally unrestricted in the cottage. Dogs may be left alone in the cottage when you choose to go out without them. You may crate them if you so desire, but the Cottage does not require this. The owner is always more than delighted to check-in on pets if this makes a guest feel more comfortable. * Dogs have the exclusive use of the adjoining garden and deck for hanging out. Beautiful Oxbow Road is a beautiful, quiet country road for dog walks.

Our stay at the Cavalier Bed and Breakfast exceeded expectations. Patricia is so welcoming, provides delicious scones each morning, and was more than accommodating with our dog. Her home was quiet and relaxing, and provided a perfect getaway. Would highly recommend.

Our stay with Patricia was wonderful! The house was very clean, cozy, and had everything we needed during our stay. The location is quiet and picturesque, while being near local attractions such as quaint towns and hiking/outdoor recreation areas. The scones Patricia gave us for breakfast were delicious and a really nice touch. We didn't have pets but appreciate that she accommodates travelers and their four legged friends. Would happily return to stay with Patricia again,
