We have an amazing outdoor shower, with hot and cold running water, overlooking the lake.
The extra large soaking bathtub is available for your use for $20 per stay if there are not other campers at the time due to us only having one bathroom available. Great for relaxing, bathing kids, or a very romantic evening.
Canoe, stand up paddle board and kayak available for your use at no charge.
You can paddle to nearby Gator Joe's which is an awesome spot on the lake for great food, drinks, and live music.

Many trees on the property makes it tricky for large vehicles to maneuver, therefor we have a limit of 25 feet including tow vehicle.
Dockside site has 15 amp hookup. We do have an adapter to connect to 30 amp hookup. It is closer to the house and bathroom than site 2 and has more shade and easy access to the dock.
Pontoon boat rentals are available down the road.
Being on the lake we do have mosquitos but they are mostly an issue at dusk and dawn for about an hour but we are out in nature so insect encounters of all kinds are to be expected.
If there is a nice breeze, which is often the case, you can enjoy the sunset from the rocker loveseat at the edge of our dock.
We also have citronella torches available for rent.
We also offer a large bundle of firewood for $10.
Campers MUST check in by 10 pm. We recommend arriving during daylight whenever possible.
It is important you understand that our property is not in the wilderness. We are NOT a commercial campground.
We have a couple of acres in a residential area and there are homes near the campsite. That being said, you will have complete privacy at your campsites as the two sites are on opposite ends of the property and you will not see me at all other than when you check in, unless you desire to do so.
Both campsites face the lake however, and you may see some fisherman out there from time to time, but I guarantee you will see much more wildlife than people.
Each site has its own fire pit.
Our guests love this place because of the lake, the incredible sunsets and moonsets over the lake, and all the incredible wildlife we have here, as you can see from the reviews.
Well behaved pets are welcome off leash as long as they are supervised and don't bother other campers. They are not allowed on the porches. Please pick up any mess that is in the path of foot traffic. There is a $20 pet fee per pet per stay. Add it under extras. Pet sitting is available for an additional charge.

We are 20 minutes from world famous Silver Springs, 20 minutes from Ocala Drive-In Movie Theater that usually shows great films for both kids and adults, and 20 minutes from the Santos Trailhead that offers world class biking and hiking paths.
Unfortunately, I cannot do anything about the people that come here that have not read the description, expecting a wilderness campground and choose to leave a negative review based on that but everyone that has read the description has loved it here and many return.

We also have 3 units inside the lodge for the people who need just a step up from glamping, but not quite the whole hotel experience. These are beautiful comfortable rooms with half baths in the rooms. The showers are located in the lodge bathhouse. WE have the Jungle themed room, the Equestrian themed room and the Honeymoon Suite. The Grist Mill is also available for rent too! This is a very romantic, yet rustic getaway equipped with a half bath as well. Very secluded and private overlooking the spring on one side and the water fall on the other. Sit outside on the deck and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature and at night the sound of the waterfall will lull you to sleep. The shower is located in the Lodge bathhouse. (To book this unit you must send a message to us and we will reserve it for you. The price is different than the campsites but we will go over that with you)

Your GPS may tell you to turn at the wrong St. Make sure that you are turning at 244th...Your GPS may tell you to turn at 243rd Street (where the Orange Market it) which is a dead end street. Just go a little bit further until you see the sign for Camp Seminole Spring.
Bring bug spray and sun screen. If you need something, don't worry! There is a Dollar General, a gas station and a small cafe within walking distance.
We have 38 acres of camping sites nature trails for hiking and mountain biking.
Guests can park right on their site, or they have the option of parking and hiking into the woods to set up their site a bit more remote and off the beaten path.
This is rustic camping. We have a bathhouse located at the campsites with showers. The bathhouse at the Great Lodge
hereas we do have garbage cans, we prefer that anything you bring into the property, you bring out with you.
We allow campfires.
Don't be surprised if you see a monkey or two in the trees...
The fishing is amazing in these parts, so if you are an angler, come and visit.
We have .75 miles of frontage on the Orange Creek. The creek flows into Lake Ocklawaha which just so happens to be one of the best bass fishing lakes in the USA. In fact, ten-pound bass are not uncommon from the Lake Ocklawaha River in the winter. Recently (2020), a 17.2-pound bass was caught there. The combined Ocklawaha and St. Johns drainage basin is possibly the most significant river-estuary waterway of Florida. This water system is of legendary reputation among anglers of largemouth bass who seek 10 pound plus trophy fish.
Conveniently located between Ocala and Gainesville in the heart of Orange Springs, Florida, Camp Seminole Spring is perfectly located for the traveler who wants to really connect with nature. It appears to be ‘off the beaten path’, yet it is close enough to civilization so that even the most seasoned camper can make a quick run to store should he or she need something not found in nature.
Camp Seminole Spring is mid-way (approx.. 22 miles) between Ocala and Gainesville, Florida, which are two thriving cities in this area of Florida. Ocala, the ‘horse capital of the world’ showcases a brand new multi-billion-dollar equestrian center which draws people from all over the world.
This scenic property has an artesian spring which pushes out 1.6 million gallons of water per day rated among the top three percent of water in the world with an 8.4 natural pH. This water fills the pond and then continues on to flow into Orange Creek.
Camp Seminole Springs was established in the 1940’s as a honeymoon resort and campground. The founders built a heart-shaped ‘pond-spring’ which is filled with the crystal-clear water pushed out from the spring where guests can lounge by the beach or gaze down into the bottom through the glass-like water or take a refreshing swim.
At the top of the hill overlooking the heart-shaped spring, one will find the rustic Great Lodge where guests can come and mingle with each other, enjoy a relaxing conversation and a drink on the veranda or just sit and watch the activity in and around the spring.

Mount Dora is across the main street less than 5 minutes away. Our antique town is an amazing experience to explore with lots of history and complete with quaint shops and restaurants, boating and lots of things to do. Rennigers Antique Center is located right up the street (less than 5 minutes away) for some great picking. We are conveniently close to the Central Florida Attractions and the beach on both east and west coasts within an hour drivep. A few Campers favorite places to visit are Mount Dora Bike Trail - 2.6 miles, Kelly Park - 11 miles and Kings Landing 12 miles from farm.
We offer youth day camps on various dates, pony rides and a tour of our farm animals for an additional fee.
Reservations required in advance due to the other activities we have going on.
In 2007, we had no idea where this adventure was going to take us.
Our small urban farm was sharing our miniature animals with assisted living facilities and Neulife, where we have 3 miniature horses that live on their property.
Little by little we have evolved into more of a need to share with the community and help others with the relaxing qualities our farm and animals have to offer, we want to be able to share and better educate with hands on experiences, teach kindness, patience, confidence and help others to be the best they can be.

Absolutely beautiful site!!! The site was well kept and everything the photos portrayed. Lindsay was an absolute pleasure to deal with, she was very prompt answering messages. On my trip I ended up having a mechanical issue and was going to be later than the 11am checkout time, she said no problem and to take my time. Marci's directions to her place were helpful and she was responsive to my questions. I have a 17' travel trailer and was able to back into my site without any trouble. Aside from occasional noise from a neighbor, Marci's place was quiet. I especially appreciated the outdoor shower and enjoyed overlooking the lake.

We had a great stay! It was very quiet which we enjoyed. The trails are beautiful. There’s a great walk around the lake. It seems they are in transition from old management (KOA) to new management. Didn’t bother us at all. Showers weren’t the cleanest. You could tell the maintenance guy had a lot going on. Overall enjoyed and was good for the price.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Lovely campsite! I stayed at site #5, which had nice privacy with trees between the sites. The bathroom is close with a flush toilet and hot shower, and the site has a picnic table and fire pit. It’s also only about a 10-minute drive to downtown Mount Dora. I was there for the Scottish Highland Festival and it was the perfect place to stay!

We stayed at Pennyland in a Class C RV pulling a toad. Mark met us at the base of the long driveway near the house. We had booked this location based on intentions to going to Universal but changed our plans before leaving out, spending most of the time at Kennedy Space Center.
Mark was pleasant to talk to, a surfer with that welcoming coastal vibe. He showed us the different ways we could position the RV and where the dump station was and left us to it. There was one other camper there at the other site but they were gone the next day. Mark also offered up some suggestions on sightseeing in the area.
We decided to face our RV door away from the house and toward the road. Don’t let that discourage you. The road is not seen and traffic not really heard. Between your site and the road is a pasture with two wonderful horses and then a nursery. To each side were pastures. It was really a nice location. Power was stable and water pressure good. We didn’t see Mark for the remainder of the week, but didn’t need to as everything worked perfectly.
A note, if you have an RV. The power and water receptacles are on the fence and we were able to set up a bit further back from the fence, giving a slightly bigger front yard, due to having both water and electric extensions. While I’m sure it would work fine without extensions, the bigger front yard was nice.

It is quiet and I slept well.
It is in a spot on a small body of water with lovely sunrises and sunsets.
The owners have improvement plans, such as marked sites. I just parked where I wanted to. If they are able to install sanitary facilities, that would be excellent, but my rig is self contained.

Loved camping here! The amenities are good, I’ve definitely seen worse, you have lots of space on your sight, and friendly staff! Keep in mind, you aren’t on a spring, and the closest one is 20 minutes (didn’t mind that at all), and make sure you get directions from google, sent us to the wrong location from directions given on Hipcamp. Would definitely come back to camp again!

Weekend Trip to Serene Forested Blueberry Farm
The land is perfect for country cottage vibes.
Collecting fresh eggs from the Hens every morning was a bonus. The cottage my husband and I rented was adorable, quaint, immaculate, had All kinds of appliances fully equipped and decorated kitchen necessities, toiletries, nick nacks, firewood and the s’mores kit was awesome! I especially enjoyed the birthday welcome note /card and tokens for our stay! Cassandra and Walt came by to greet us for our stay and we’re wonderful hosts. We plan on renting each unit until we make it around the property! What I enjoyed about our stay is it’s close to our home but far enough to feel like a hidden gem . We had a little glamping, camping and rustic tranquil vibes. The outdoor shower was so peaceful after going for a walk /run near the wood trails. We enjoyed every moment of our stay.

About
Stretching over almost 400,000 acres and home to four of Florida’s natural springs—Juniper, Alexander Springs, Silver Glen, and Salt Springs—Ocala National Forest has far more to offer than woodland walks. Bubbling springs, sandy beaches, and more than 600 lakes afford ample options to get on the water, whether you want to swim, fish, snorkel, or paddle. Away from the water, take your pick of hiking, biking, horseback riding, and OHV trails, totaling more than 300 miles. As for national forest camping, you'll find 14 developed campgrounds, two Civilian Conservation Corps cabins, and several dispersed, primitive camping areas.
Notable campgrounds
- Best for peace and quiet: Lake Dorr Recreation Area has 34 oak-shaded tent and RV sites in a tranquil wooded spot with a boat ramp, picnic tables, and fire rings by the lake.
- Best for family campers: Juniper Springs Recreation Area has 79 tent/RV sites with easy access to the springs, trailheads, and spots for canoes and kayaks.
- Best for RV camping: Salt Springs Recreation Area is the only campground with full hookups, with 160 sites to choose from.
Tips for snagging a campsite
- You can reserve sites at the 14 U.S. Forest Service campgrounds online, while others like Hopkins Prairie Campground are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Online reservations open up to six months in advance.
- Campsites can book up as fast, so plan your getaway at least three months in advance, especially for summer and holiday weekends.
When to go
With daytime temperatures in the high 70s, winter is the ideal time for hiking and outdoor activities in Ocala National Forest, although the natural springs can be enjoyed year-round. Pack insect repellent if visiting in spring and summer, when weather can be hot and thunderstorms are not uncommon. Despite this, summer is still the busiest period, so expect long lines of traffic on approach to popular areas such as the natural springs.
Know before you go
- Ocala National Forest is in Central Florida, about 70 miles north of Orlando, or about a 90-minute drive away. Silver Springs State Park is also nearby.
- Admission to Florida national forests is free, but some springs and some of the best camping areas require entry fees.
- Facilities at Ocala include a visitor center, restrooms, watercraft rentals, swimming areas, and picnic areas with grills. Most are accessible.
- Black bears are present at Ocala National Forest, so keep food and garbage secure in tent camping and day-use areas, and follow bear safety guidelines.
- The 1,500-mile Florida Trail runs through Ocala, perfect for backpacking and secluded camping spots.

Great Ocala
We always camp here in Ocala. Our favorite gateway! Its better to camp when its not summer though. Lots of creepy crawlers when summer! We ride atv too inside the forest and its beautiful. For boondocking we go to Hopkins Prairie a lot, it is quiet. Lake dorr have too many people and full of atv’ers so we dont go there, also restroom was nasty. Overall Ocala is nice place to camp!

Not sure where you get information on the campsites, but this is not accurate. There are no restrooms at the Clay Lakes or the Hunt Camp. It is extremely primitive. The Hunt Camp itself is not located on the lakes and is only open during hunting season, permit only. This region is the only one in the Ocala National Forest that allows hunting with dogs and that is typically who purchases permits for that camp. Some vehicles may not be able to make the sharp turn on the initial dirt road entry. That road can also be submerged during rainy season.

This Picture is not Mill Dam. Mill Dam Is Great. A 168 acre big lake with 100 ft. Beach Area to swim in. No Fishing allowed. It is in the Middle of the Ocala National Forest. Group Camping in the Off season is Fantastic. Location is Private and great for family Get togethers Or just buddies having a great time. They have about 30 charcoal grills and Picnic tables. A covered Pavillion, A group fire ring and flush toilets. Fantastic sunsets. Have a boat? they have a boat launch. Not to far from civilization and get great Cell service. The host there this year is wonderful. Plenty of room for Group camping. alot of shade under some great Oak trees. If you don't group camp at least come for the in season Day Use.

We reserve this campground several times a year. It's very secluded and beautiful. There is a small beach in the lake where you can swim. We arrive with 20 or so friends and have a great time. It's really nice to have the whole place to yourself!

Excellent out of the way campground but within easy driving distance of Silver Springs, Florida. Sandy campsites well screened from each other and a nice little lake with a fishing pier. No water or electric at sites but a bath house with hot water and a spot for washing dishes. I stayed there several times in 2011 and 2012 when I was camping full time.

This was the first place I camped after moving to FL a couple of years ago, and after exploring other places it remains my favorite. There is plenty of hiking accessible right from the park, you can fish (not in the spring head itself but a little farther down), the campsites are spacious and shaded by a nice canopy of trees, and the water is just beautiful.
We had 4 people in 2 tents with 3 dogs felt like we had plenty of room.
I recommend going in the cooler season. You may need a wetsuit jacket (for the air temp more than water temp), but you can pretty much have the water to yourself unlike the craziness of the summer season.

There is apparently a host here. I have no idea who they are. The booth at the entrance is unattended but they will sneak up and put a ticket on your windshield for that $2 admission as soon as you are away. As soon as the rest of my buddies get here we're leaving, and won't be back.

We camp at Doe lake every year with our hiking group. It is a great open area camp for a large group. There is a large mess hall with lot of kitchen equipment and nice bath house. There is only a couple of electric and water hook ups so most camping is primitive. This camp can only be reserved for a group. Also the picture above is not of this camp.

This is a nice spring with a large swimming area and sunbathing/picnic area. The spring flows into a beautiful clear, shallow river for canoeing and kayaking. There is a short board-walk trail through the "jungle" and there is also access to the Florida Trail near the campground entrance, which is a hiking trail that runs the length of the state. The only problem I had with this campground is you may not bring your pets into the picnic/beach area including the parking lot. You may not even leave them in your car in the parking lot, and the park ranger was very rude and mean about this. You can have pets in campsite, but if you wanted to just stop in for a quick swim, can't do it with a pet.

Awesome! Many campsites to choose from (at least 21). There are, in-fact, picnic tables. There is non-potable, hand pump water well on site as well (not suitable for drinking). Very scenic. I went middle of April and the bugs weren't too bad; i guess the bat house truly does help with the bugs. You can drive in or hike in.

Hidden Pond is great for a serene getaway or hiking adventure! My wife and i hiked in from Pats Island trailhead coming in around 3.5-4 miles hike. The trail coming in to Hidden Pond had a good amount of variation, but there are two stretches of sand and scrub that can be brutal on a hot day. Hidden Pond has clear water (sometimes some algae) and has one area that is very accessible; kind of like a 15ft wide beach/bank. There are several camping spots to the right of the FL Scenic trail that follow the shore of Crooked Sapling Pond. (side note: Don't expect Crooked Sapling Pond to have the same water level Hidden Pond does). These sights offer great privacy and there is NO city noise out here people! Not for casual campers in my opinion.

Finding a spot is a challenge here. There are no dedicated sites. The lake is beautiful and the breeze coming off it is wonderful. It's definitely not secluded as you can see cows and houses across the lake. The number given to contact a ranger is also useless. It redirects you to another number in which apparently no one is interested in picking up after 5. Be forewarned, mosquito repellant is a must, as they will literally carry you away if you are not prepared.

Alexander Springs is a gorgeous camping option, being my first place I ever camped it set the record high. The water is refreshing, gorgeous scenery with a long trail and canoeing plus snorkeling/diving are options!
