Pond Side

Great campsite by a frozen pond for some winter camping fun in the Adirondacks. Still fairly easy to access from the road with a bit of snow. It was such a great location that we booked an extra night.

Lovely campsite. Lovely and thoughtful owners. Great location as a base for adventures in the Adirondacks. Would definitely stay here again.

What a wonderful location! Cara and family keep the spot clean and well stocked. I visited off season in November and they delivered a full stock of wood to keep me warm. The pond is charming, all you can hear is the fire and the trickle of water. The spot I stayed is just past their house down a hill and off to the right, close by to walk up should you need anything yet far enough to feel secluded.

Pond side is beautiful and peaceful. The hospitality of the owners was fantastic as well.

Pondside is idyllic, with few human sounds. Instead the landscape envelopes you with bird calls, peepers, water running through the beaver damn, wind-high in the trees, sunset and the most pleasant hosts you could ask for. I can't wait to come back. The bathrooms were exceptionally clean and the water on site was so cold it was refreshing. Totally memorable!

Perfect size campsite! Private, clean, and aesthetically pleasing in every way. Our hosts were very friendly and insightful of the area as well. 10/10 would recommend!

This was our first time trying to camp in cold October weather and it was so lovely spending it at the Pond Site! We spent 1 night in our tent and two in the car which we were able to drive right onto the site. The views were lovely and we saw and heard a handful of birds and critters. A ruffed grouse, barn owl, porqupine, and timberdoodle! A lovely spot to relax and enjoy the ADK's

The site is picturesque being right beside a pool. With our 19 foot long van, it was a bit tight and tough to find a level area (we ended up using our levelers). The picnic table, fire pit and privy were clean and having lots of water was a plus. It is just down from their home so not as private as their other spot, Knotty Pines. Cara and her husband were gracious hosts.

Pond Side was so beautiful. The sight took my breath away over and over again. It was so peaceful to sit beside the pond or explore it with the rented canoe. The site itself is small but well put together and easy to get to and from. We appreciated the outhouse and the picnic table. Cara was very thoughtful and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. We were also pleased to find that the pond wasn’t buggy at all, maybe because the water keeps moving. Make sure you pack extra layers for the cold nights! It’s a really special spot and I hope we can return someday soon.
